Stylish, this place isn't.
It has checky tablecloths, and an air of slow decline, but the food is pretty good and the prices reflect the decor. It is small and a little dingy, but if the had a revamp and plugged the authenticity, I'm sure they could pull more people in and charge a bit more without too much effort or complaint!
Lots of places say they use good quality ingredients, then you get spam instead of ham. Mario's seems to downplay this side of things. Shame!
The clientel was a little rough and ready on the Thursday night I was in with the girlies, but I could still hear myself think.
Having said all this, I like cheap and cheerful when it comes to Italian restaurants, and I will go back at some point. I would like to see if they do breakfast! read more
