I attended some cultural events and they were great. + Great selection of majors and courses. + Somewhat prestigious. + In beautiful Ohio. The not-so-good: - Expensive. - Kind of in the middle of nowhere. Gambier is nothing..... - Therefore, kind of far from a decent town. Columbus is your best bet.... Good to visit, not sure about being an actual student. And thus ends my really short review for the day. Cheers.

Growing up, my father and I bonded over frequent visits to a small, local college to watch (and…read morecheer on) their basketball team. Those are some of my fondest memories. Now, with a son and daughter of my own, I've become a huge fan of the Denison Big Red. We take time out of our busy schedules to drive a few miles down the road to cheer on the Big Red. NCAA basketball isn't all about packed arenas and $75 tickets. At Denison, you can get into the game for free (or, if you choose, the price of a small donation that normally, I believe, goes to charity). At the game, you can literally sit court-side and feel like you are part of the action, part of the team. You won't witness the NBA's next generation of high-flying stars, but you will see teams devoted to execution and hustle. All the drama of great competition is there. During half time we like to wonder around the beautiful campus and facilities. So, for helping me to make quality family memories and for providing top-notch competition that we can actually be close to and feel a part of, I toss five stars Denison's way. Go BIG RED!

Great memories over four years at Denison University's athletic complex in Granville Ohio with…read moreWashU Swimming. The complex is maybe ten years old, but looks new. It houses indoor track, tennis and swimming. My visits after Thanksgiving have been at their annual Denison Invitational Meet with my son. The school uses the opportunity to fundraise the local food bank. My specific experience with the school is through swimming only. So the rating has nothing to do with academics, although I know from ratings and word of mouth it is a strong D3 school. The pool is a looker. It's a 50 meter with diving wells. They also installed a very large spectator area to hold large events like conference and the Denison Invitational. However, a star deduction with air quality issues over the years. This makes competing much harder. So long Denison University. My son has graduated out of this meet and it will be missed. Not just the facility, but the people and memories it holds.

Though there are a number of different campuses of The Ohio State University, the large campus that…read moremost people not familiar with ASU think about is the Columbus Campus. This campus offers a liberal arts college feeling with many with many buildings, students, staff, faculty, and resources. Similar to many other large campuses or schools across the country, it feels like it is always under construction as new buildings, athletic facilities, and residence halls are built each year. As Ohio State is one of the largest public universities in the country, there is something for everyone whether in-person or online. At Ohio State, every student has the potential to feel connected with resources and it there is certainly always something happening whether at the Ohio Union, at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC), or in the residence halls or any of the athletics facilities including the Horseshoe (Ohio Stadium). More than 14,000 students live on-campus, and the majority of about 67,000 Ohio State students take courses on the Columbus Campus. While campus resources are easily located in the Ohio Union and Lincoln Tower, many other buildings across the Columbus Campus have academic offices or other student services. The Ohio State staff, faculty, and partners certainly try to do everything they can to support all of the students to ensure they are set up to succeed at Ohio State. Originally founded as only a fraction of the Columbus Campus of today in 1870, the campus has grown by leaps and bounds over the years. Even a student who graduated just over 20 years ago, I am surprised in what the campus looks like today. In fact, I just visited campus for the first time in many years last month and barely recognize parts of campus. Even now, big construction projects include the Mirror Lake District Renovation, North Residential District Renewal, and multi-phase William Oxley Thompson Library Renovation. In fact, as of 2022, there were more than 1400 current construction projects in the works across all Ohio State campuses. As the campus continues to grow, the number of buildings on campus continue to increase. In addition to more commonly visited areas like the Oval, the Ohio Union, and the RPAC, there is the Thompson Library and Ohio Stadium. There is also the Wexner Center for the Arts, the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, the Orton Geological Museum, Mirror Lake, the Arne Slettebak Planetarium, Buckeye Grove, the Schottenstein Center, and so many other spots. My regular places to have visited when I was a student were Ramseyer Hall (where I took most of my classes), Taylor Tower, Mack Hall, and Bradley-Paterson residence halls. At Ohio State, every student can drive their own experience as they engage in the events and resources on-campus while attending classes, getting an on-campus job, landing an internship or full-time job, joining clubs and organizations, attending many free events and activities, and so much more. The many student services offices at Ohio State are always there for students, and it's easy to find your way towards graduation and your future when taking advantage of these resources. I look forward to seeing what comes next on such a large and lively campus such as Ohio State in the coming years!

More about the Master of Science program (CRJ): The program is 100% online (which means you never have to actually visit the campus). Start dates are flexible, as this program is truly built for working students. Before completing the final required class, the student can apply for graduation, and once the class is completed, a diploma is sent in the mail. Throughout the duration of the program, I met students and professors from all over the country and all different walks of life, and learned from and with each of them. The educational experience here was everything I had hoped for and more.

OK so I've already reviewed two other schools pretty much based on their admissions process alone…read more I spent a long time looking for where I could get a great online education. Franklin university was the first school that signing up online I didn't feel like I was being rushed or they're just mashing numbers. I was helped every step of the way. They evaluated and accepted 90 credits of transfer, which put me right back as a college senior. As opposed to the two other schools I reviewed they took the time to look at my credits before giving me any sort of answers as to how much credit they would or wouldn't take. This is also the only school I have reviewed as far that I have had the chance to attend classes. I am just finishing up my sixth and seventh class right now and I have very much enjoyed the experience and hope the last four classes I still do need to take go as well. I highly recommend if you are looking for an online education especially with a high level of transfer from previous schools this is the place. My Admissions rep really went to bat for me because there were a few of my classes that were not immediately approved into the program and she reached out and made sure that they evaluated the classes correctly so that I got the maximum amount of transfer. She basically saved me seven grand that day. College is expensive but this place is super reasonable prices. This semester I was able to get everything on the one federal loan. No private loans needed. I'm also not eligible for Pell grants anymore but obviously if you are eligible for any grants such as the Pell Grant this is totally an affordable school if you don't want to take out private loans. The classes are really well designed for online and working people I highly recommend this to everyone looking to get, well actually any level of degree they have associates through doctoral degree 's. I love this school and am glad I googled best online schools, that is how I found them. Check them out! I read the other reviews a lot are for their physical campus. I have been there since I live in San Francisco but as online only it's amazing!

Not as adult-student friendly as advertised…read more I chose Franklin University because it is marketed as a school that understands and accommodates adult students, but my experience has not matched that expectation. While the classes may be online and advertised as flexible, the actual workload is anything but flexible. The amount of work required each week can be extremely heavy, especially for students who are working full-time and have family responsibilities. The deadlines and workload often make it difficult to balance school with the other responsibilities that come with being an adult student. I understand that college is supposed to require effort, but there is a difference between being academically challenging and simply having an overwhelming amount of work with very little flexibility. I expected a university that specifically caters to adult learners to have a better understanding of the realities of working adults. If you're considering Franklin because you need a program that genuinely works around a busy adult schedule, I would strongly recommend looking closely at the course requirements and weekly workload before enrolling. The flexibility advertised does not necessarily translate into a flexible student experience.
