The first two years were…read moreokay- relatively smooth and I felt that the teachers and faculty genuinely cared for my daughter. At the beginning of the year, my daughter was diagnosed with ADHD and the school seemed reluctant to do an IEP or accept the diagnosis. I decided to move her to the local public school which seems to have many more resources and programs to help kids succeed at learning. I would say that this school is probably best suited for families whose faith comes first in their lives and whose kids don't need extra resources and help with learning. It's not a bad school, it just ended up being a bad fit for me and my daughter.

My sister would come home and tell me the things she said in class. What kind of an adult does that? A turd, that's what kind. She was a giant, fat woman who taught other classes. Spanish, I think. I wanted to make sure I knew where to park…read moreand avoid a ticket since I knew they are strict there. so I checked their website which said questions could be directed to the admin office or the campus police and gave their emails. I sent each an email and of course both blew me off. so I sent each another email and naturally they ghosted me again. so I went to the event and not wanting to risk a ticket I had to park on a side street and walk very far. I sent each of them another email saying I was disappointed they never responded and of course they blew off both of them. it really made me wonder why anyone would go here? I was a visitor asking a legit question and their response was 0 for 6 emails. i literally have a hs student looking for a university to attend. if they treat visitors like that imagine being a student that needs an answer. imagine a parent paying $50k a year and getting ghosted. there's an old expression 'who you are done if the time is who you are all the time' and otterbine clearly shows who they are is a school that doesn't care.

It's really hard to review four years of my life without it turning into a whole book, so I'll just…read morepick five things that I love about Ohio Wesleyan. 1) Class size and professor accessibility is outstanding. I went to a small high school in Rhode Island, so I couldn't even imagine going to a big state university with huge classes. Even intro classes at OWU are always under 50 people and usually under 30 people. Professors are extremely accessible, always make themselves readily available for students, and have a true passion for what they do. I honestly love the OWU faculty. 2) There's something for everyone out there. There are tons of different clubs and organizations, and not one is "mandatory" in order to have a social life. Greek life is great (I was a Greek), but, again, there is plenty to do even if that's not your scene. Different Greek organizations get along with one another and non-Greeks for the most part. If you're not involved in a fraternity or sorority, there are still tons of things to do, everything from intramurals (dodgeball, soccer, football, softball) to campus programming to student government to the newspaper to any number of different clubs and organizations. 3) Delaware, Ohio, is a really cool little town with a great suburban character that's only a few minutes from Columbus. After I graduated in 2008, things have gotten even cooler in downtown Delaware, with a new specialty beer store popping up right on the main drag and the expansion of a great brick-oven pizza place as well. And, with Columbus just 30 minutes away, there are plenty of opportunities for people looking to go to concerts, sporting events at Ohio State, or just hit the city for some fun. 4) The OWU student body is extremely engaged and passionate. I can't speak for every student on campus, but the vast majority of people I met were extremely passionate about something, and that passion was something that they were able to really tap into at OWU. Whether it's science, English, or the arts, OWU students have a real opportunity to express themselves. 5) OWU Men's Soccer, your NCAA Division III National Champions. Had to brag a little. :D

Scioto is like my second home, it has a wonderful atmosphere and it's definitely a safe space. If u are debating what school to have your child go to, I 100% recommend Scioto!
