So I'm totally stoked that there is a cafe on the ferry! The ambiance is obviously a mix of diner/cafe meets cruise ship/cafeteria. The open windows are great but covered with salt spray...as is expected.
The service is mostly "self" unless you order something ans they dont have it, then they give you a number and bring it to you later.
The food is decent for what is available but dont expect a fine dining experience. I'd recommend getting the "bacon" over the beef "sausage". It was cool they offered mushrooms as one of the 6 items you can choose with a medium Scottish breakfast.
This is a pet friendly environment but you need to get a pass for your pooch! Luggage storage is available as well as recycling...
Just keep in mind that the ferry has some ocean action and make plans based on that. It doesn't bother me, but if you are affected by the motion of the ocean, perhaps a light meal is the best choice for you.
The trip is about 3 hours so you better keep that in mind. There are toilets all around that are surprisingly nice if you need one in an emergency, and there are at least 2 locations where you can get a cappuccino or flat white and 6 other options for your launch juice. There is alcohol on-board for those desirous of a beverage of the fermented variety, beers only I think...
Finally, there are a multitude of seating arrangements and levels and decks for you to choose from so you can get comfortable, but you cannot stay in your car, so get what you need and bring it with you into the passenger area.
Enjoy your snacks and the spectacular views from wherever you are on the ship. It's a pleasant ride. read more
