All of the neighbors were friendly, and the kids were respectful of the common areas. Very quiet at night. The maintenance staff handled all service inquiries promptly and with personal care. The property manager, Lorena, ALWAYS greeted me with a smile and a check in, which made living there feel truly like home. She went over and above her required job, even wishing me well on holidays, knowing my family was on the East Coast. My only recommendation is to convert the on-site laundry to a card system, although if keeping the coin system keeps costs low ($4 a load in 5/2026), maybe no change is needed! Ocean West is in the heart of a quiet, residential community and adjacent to a school with plenty of on street parking for guests and walkable to 711, Walmart, PetSmart, and Tokyo Central. Very close to Del Amo Mall and an 9 minute ride to the Esplanade in Redondo Beach.

We took her at her word and did exactly that. It has now been almost two months and we have still not received our refund. I have the screenshots of my conversation with Andi that clearly show what was promised, and they speak for themselves. Her communication has been neither authentic nor in line with basic integrity. To anyone considering applying here: do not take Andi's word that they will refund you. Get everything in writing through official channels and think twice before handing over your money.

Even with not living there for 3 months, they still go above and beyond. My mail order pharmacy sent my medication to my previous address there and would not resend it. I contacted Nadia and let her know the situation, she was extremely attentive and was able to track it down and secure it for me until I was able to get it picked up. I really appreciate all the help that we endured in our time as residents there and will continue to recommend those looking for a great apartment in a great location of the south bay, to them. I HIGHLY recommend you take into consideration the comments on property management (aside from Kelli - she is relatively new and does try to help this goat rope of a company She is extempt from this review). While the "area" may be decent, the apartments are poorly and cheaply put together. Paint splatters everywhere, cheap appliances, no AC, huge gaps underneath the island connecting to the floor, garage storages are disgusting, and that's just a few examples. This isn't even the biggest and most disturbing issue. I say again - It's property management! One person in particular = NADIA! Nadia is only responsive when it benefits her. Otherwise, you will not hear from her. She contacted me three times for my renters insurance despite this already being sent to her via text twive AND then the 3rd time threatened to charge me for not having it on file. What's mind boggling is if what I provided wasn't sufficient documentation there should've been communication. Not one time! She even said thanks when it was provided. I digress. She rides around on her golf cart to walk her dog, leaves work early to pick up her daughter & doesn't return (I can't even begin to tell you how many times I tried to catch her in the office - never there!), and doesn't even communicate to her co-workers about the issues on this property. Kelli had no idea I was moving out. Nadia knew the day I moved out, when I followed back up and randomly stopped by because of the lack of response, and NOW I've asked about my Security Deposit twice with absolutely no response. I love its adjacency to downtown, which seats you in the heart of the East Village Arts District, an 8 minute walk from the beach and amidst the fun of city events. Mike and Jose Luis are patient, respectful and caring anytime you need support in your unit. Submitting maintenance requests via AppFolio is also a breeze. The community events hosted by Anyssa and Maddie are also a great way to mix and mingle with folks in the community. We've had food trucks, taco nights and even community night markets allowing entrepreneurs within the building to share their talents. Having such events allows everyone to have day-to-day privacy with curated spaces for fellowship. Any miscellaneous needs or thinking of switching to a different unit? Ronnie is a pleasure in the leasing office and will welcome you with warmth and compassion. The Edison is a quiet, high-end commercial conversion that was renovated in 2017. It was formally a branch of City Hall and the police department in its past. Amidst living in earthquake territory, I feel very safe here and appreciate the build quality matching its beautiful aesthetic. A couple of things to consider: 1. There is parking for one vehicle per unit, though there are 3 garages within one block that provide monthly parking options for additional vehicles. 2. There is no concierge service in the building for deliveries, though night time security guards are present and a new virtual entry system allows you to open the lobby door via app with video and audio access. You are also able to create virtual keys for visitors!
