*NO STARS - had to select 1 star to submit this review* This shop lacks Integrity and honesty in service provided. After multiple attempts of getting the repair done properly, this shop failed with no explanation. We dropped our motor off for a tune up and to repair the rope starter pull rope -over $400 later and the motor is worse off now than it was when we initially dropped it off. Unless you enjoy poor communication, slow service, broken commitments, and paying for services that don't meet the expectation - I'd strongly suggest taking your boat needs elsewhere! Note: this review comes after 2 attempts to resolve my concerns with the shop directly. The second attempt was via a letter to the owner via USPS mail and email to which I did not receive any acknowledgement or response. read more

New ownership: Bad customer service. Did not inform us of of new management and new costs that doubled in price. They claim they are being "competitive" with other places which is not the problem I have. Every business has the right to charge whatever they wish. My issues are simply being courteous about changes made to your business. I called to schedule our yearly removal/storage of our boat and the new owner did not mention one thing about any changes to the business. In fact, I had no idea the place even had new ownership. 6 weeks later after I made the call, we got a voice message saying "Do you still need your boat picked up before the end of the season?" We call back to raise a stir and they tell us they don't have our boat. I argued that yes I called over a month ago to have it taken out and had the call record to prove. An hour passes and they call us back saying "Oh yes, we do have your boat and we will send an invoice for payment." We get the invoice over a week later. It was more than double the usual cost, it was dated the day I called them to have the boat removed months before, and it had my note printed on it "CALL WHEN DONE" which they never did! The previous owner took great care of our family. He helped us with so many things over the years and I understand if maybe he was not charging as much as he should have. Like I said, the cost is not my complaint. It is the process, lack of information, and lack of concern for us as a loyal customer that I am complaining about. In my opinion, if you purchase a business and have a large list of loyal customers, it is good practice to inform them of new ownership and rates and build a trusting relationship with them so they continue to be loyal. A year ago, I would have given this place 5 stars and a rave review. I still would have done that this year if proper business practices were followed. I felt blind sided and not properly cared for considering my family had been doing business with them for 10+ years. read more
