OK, Boomer!
I'll admit to being a Boomer, and one of the catchphrases I grew up with was, "If you want something done right, do it yourself." That philosophy has served me pretty well over the years--until now.
I recently decided to turn that job over to Marine Klean and had them wash, buff, and wax our 2016 Ranger Tug R-27. She's a fiberglass boat with a dark-blue hull, tan accent areas designed to give the appearance of wood planking, and white fiberglass topsides. With all the rails, hardware, canvas, lockers, and other nooks and crannies on an R-27, getting everything properly cleaned and detailed is no small undertaking.
The two guys from Marine Klean did an outstanding job. The boat looks almost new rather than ten years old. They were exceptionally thorough and didn't just hit the obvious areas. They covered virtually every square inch, including cleaning the bimini, getting inside the cockpit lockers, and even buffing the top of our dock box.
Getting the hull done properly required releasing the dock lines and shifting the boat in the slip so they could reach the areas normally hidden against the dock. Once they had her repositioned, they finished the job and put her back where she belonged. And when they secured her again, they even made a chain loop with the loose ends neater than the way I had originally rigged them. That may seem like a small thing, but to a boat owner, attention to details like that says a lot.
Jeff is fortunate to have employees who take that much pride in their work. They clearly understand that detailing a boat isn't just about making the gelcoat shine--it's about taking care of the entire vessel.
