Dave refused it without a title and told me, over and over, "it's the law." It is not. Florida exempts non-motor-powered boats under 16 feet from titling (s. 328.03, F.S.). No title exists for this boat because the state doesn't issue one. I questioned it and got the same line, with a side of condescension. I offered proof of purchase and got "We'll pass." Have whatever store policy you want. Don't make up a law and then treat the customer like the idiot in the room. My advice: stay away. If they get the basics of Florida boating law this wrong, this confidently, I wouldn't trust a word of their advice. Find a shop that knows the rules and respects its customers. This isn't it.
