I called H&R Block on Tuesday to schedule with Kristen thinking she was still at H&R Block, when I asked to schedule with her the receptionist said Kristen had retired. RETIRED? I was upset and they tried scheduling me with someone else. I'm glad I didn't schedule because luckily I found Kristen's new office through a family member. Her new office is awesome ! I was disappointed to find out that she is no longer with the company. That disappointment didn't last long, however. My tax appointment was on January 30th @ 6:00pm. As soon as I walked in the door, the woman at the desk greeted me with a warm smile. She was very sweet and kind and offered me coffee, tea, water or cookies while I waited. Fortunately, I didn't have long to wait. I gladly accepted the coffee and by the time I was done making a cup, my tax preparer was ready. My tax preparer this year was Andrew. He was very kind, friendly and helpful. It hardly felt like doing my taxes. He walked me through everything while we chatted about life, etc. I felt so welcome and at home. It took about an hour but it didn't feel like an hour. Not only did I leave feeling like I understood everything and had all my questions answered, I left totally satisfied with my experience as a whole. This office is a true example of outstanding customer service. Doing my taxes is so simple and easy there. E-file, refund deposited onto an Emerald card, a website/app where I can see all of my tax paperwork from any year, check the status of my refund, and see my Emerald card balance, statements, etc, all with just a few clicks. Everything is fast, simple and easy. My taxes are pretty simple and easy themselves, so I really could do it for free online, but I would rather pay a small fee for everything I get when using HR Block. My taxes are explained so that I understand, my refund gets loaded onto a prepaid card, I can check any of my tax or card info online or on the app, and the people working at the office were beyond nice and cool. This is the experience I wish of would get everywhere else, and it's while doing my taxes of all things! The smile on my face when I left wasn't only because I was getting a refund, it was because I actually enjoyed having my taxes done. Big thanks to Andrew, and the sweet lady working the front desk (didn't catch her name)! I would recommend HR Block, and the Marina branch especially, to anyone needing to do their taxes.
