She is so in tune…read morewith whatever I need and is truly one of the most caring and talented healers I have had the gift of meeting. She adapts to whatever I need at the time and is skilled in a variety of modalities in addition to acupuncture. Leslie's caring extends beyond just the session......she is known to send emails and follow-up phone calls with ideas she may have to help me, and even called Pharmaca without my knowing, to check if they had a product in stock. She also talked with Ann there to verify that she was giving me good advice! She's incredible, she's creative, she's talented, and I feel like a new person when I leave her beautiful space. I'm very conservative with regard to where I will go during this pandemic, but I feel extremely safe in her immaculate, sanitary space and presence. She is masked throughout our session and is simply in a league of her own. Your healing is imminent with Leslie; her prices are extremely reasonable and she will also help you figure out your insurance coverage. Like I said, Leslie is truly a gem. Thank you, lovely lady!! My neck, my energy, my chi, my knee and me all thank you:)

I've only just now gotten around to writing a review and I started seeing her about two years ago. No need to go to anyone else. Every visit has with her has been effective. It's a challenge to find a real provider who does their homework and integrates their treatment with your larger goals in life. I am delighted with Leslie and the work she does. I put her in the -don't hesitate to call- category.

Allyssa accommodated me with an appointment on a Sunday, which I truly appreciated. She was so kind, attentive, and helpful throughout the entire process. I had been dealing with body aches, and was recommended hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I was a little nervous at first because I am claustrophobic, but Allyssa immediately put me at ease and assured me I would be comfortable. She was absolutely right. After my session, I felt noticeably better. My energy was up, and my body aches had decreased. Their saying, "Breathe. Heal. Restore." truly reflects the experience. In addition to hyperbaric oxygen therapy, they also offer acupuncture, infrared sauna, naturopathic care and other wellness services. I highly recommend Essential Medicine in La Jolla.

Source is truly one of a kind…read more As a hard working sales professional who travels monthly for both work, photography, and personal reasons, works out daily, and has continuously been dealing with a load of physical problems, Source has truly been game changing in my daily and weekly life. Coming to Source I had brain fog, migraines daily, issues with sleep, issues with digestion, low or no energy, and problems with my overall health that were causing major issues in my day to day, my career, my love life, and more. I felt quite lost and no matter how many supplements I took or protocols I tried nothing worked. Dr. Simone spent an hour and a half understanding on our first meeting understanding the core issues and roots of my problems from a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual place and helped build a detox protocol with me that included acupuncture, specific supplements, cupping, and e-stI'm treatment. She continuously checks in on me every session and has a deeper level of understanding what I need to continue to become a healthier version of myself. After 3 months working with her and her team I can confidently say I have seen MAJOR improvements in my daily energy levels, hormone regulation, and other problems. Source has become my favorite part of my week and I am extremely grateful I found this place. The care is next level and the staff is 10/10. Sarah is amazing as well and has been extremely accommodating. Thank you to the Source team, I love you guys. You have created a life long customer.

This review is way past due! I've known Pegah for over 12 years. She impressed me as a calm and…read morediscerning person, who was easy to talk with. I didn't know then she was interested in acupuncture. I sensed she had a healing spirit, but had no idea what she might be doing with it. My previous experience with acupuncture was bad. I had an arthritic knee that was making it hard for me to get around. The doctor was highly regarded by my friends, but after his treatment I felt worse than ever. We spoke about that on the phone, and I decided acupuncture just wasn't for me. Then my MD told me to expect knee replacement within the coming months, and require physical therapy for several weeks afterwards. So when Pegah called to tell me she had opened an office in La Jolla, and was doing a study on acupuncture for troublesome knees, I had some initial resistance. She listened to my concerns, answered all my questions, and did so in a professional and assuring manner. There was no rush at all. She heard me out, told me what she would do, and what to expect. Pegah made no extravagant promises, but said she was sure she could help. So I gave it a shot. The treatments were absolutely pain free. In fact, they were extremely relaxing. After a few visits, my knee was markedly better. The pain and weakness was alleviated to the point where I was able to go into physical therapy, which was out of the question before her treatments. Bottom line: It's been something like 5 years since the doctor told me to prepare for surgery and to be out of work for a while. My knee is so much better now, I don't even bring it up at doctor's visits anymore. Late last year, I was stricken with Bell's Palsy. This is hardly a medical emergency, but it freaked me out. The whole left side of my face was paralyzed, and looked like melted wax. Pegah was very kind and patient. Her knowledgeable, nurturing approach settled me down. I felt improvement from the very first visit. Along the way she treated me with moxibustion. Not being much of a woo-woo guy, I didn't understand how that could possibly help, but there's no denying it did. I began to look forward to it. The wind-up to that episode: within weeks, I had considerably better facial mobility. After a couple of months, people who have known me since the turn of the century couldn't tell I had ever been paralyzed. Along the way, Pegah treated me for arthritis in my neck and shoulder, and also pollen allergies. These symptoms were alleviated as well. During each visit, you can expect that she will begin by thoroughly checking out your situation. She'll address any questions or concerns you may have, with no sense of hurry at all. During the treatment, she is very gentle, and continually checks to see how you're doing. I like her private office set-up. It's like a personal visit to a private physician, rather than being processed through a clinic. My visits were covered by the VA, and that's gotta be one of the most exasperating experiences ever for getting paid. Never a murmur from her about it, though I know they didn't make it easy. Rest assured that Pegah doesn't upsell or push anything on you. I had several questions about Chinese herbal preparations, and gave her every opportunity to sell them to me. She declined to endorse the recommendation in my case. Pegah said she'd make it if I really wanted, but she honestly didn't think it would help my condition. She actually recommended other supplements she doesn't even sell. So if a kind, genuine, and caring acupuncturist who will take the time for you and treat your needs, Dr. Pegah is my recommendation. Believe me - I drove by dozens of Chinese medicine practitioners from my home in East County just to get to her office in La Jolla, and I'd do it again.

Like a lot of people I am DEATHLY afraid of needles, like to the point where I sometimes pass out because of it (LOL). She was so calm, and went really slow and made it a very comfortable situation. Let me tell you, you can barely feel the needle when it's inserted. She puts on relaxing music, a lavender eye pillow(by request). And ends with a nice neck massage. The more and more I go, I like to try new things. I've been doing "cupping". Which kind of hurts a little at first, but then is like a massage once you get over the pain. I'm obsessed with it! I've been having this dull pain in my SI joint, so we worked on that the last appointment, the pain is GONE! I love Mariel more than just My acupuncturist, she's a great friend and a wonderful spirit.
