Boat was jammed full of people, we didn't have any say in where we sat (I like to be under shade since I burn super easily). Talked out of snorkeling because of how choppy the water was. Poor communication, was supposed to leave around 9am and didn't get on the boat until after 10am after being passed around from marina to marina. Only gave us 20 minutes to shop, boat left without us even though we had prepaid for golf cart. Just overall such a cluster. Do not recommend if you want to know what is going on vis communication. read more

I was really really excited for this tour - we were told we would get the chance to snorkel, parasail, and explore the Island Mujures. We arrived in the morning in the scorching heat and it was packed. There were really long lines which were honestly a bit of a mess as we were waiting for the catamaran. It also seemed like way more than 60 people were assigned to our catamaran but they made it fit. It was just a bit of a squeeze. Right when we got on the boat, they started yelling at us to put on the snorkeling equipment because we were going to get there soon. The snorkeling portion was organized so you would jump off the boat and swim with the guide a certain distance. Children under 12 weren't allowed to participate. Also, you had to swim with the guide - you couldn't get off and on the boat whenever you wanted during this portion. So not the most family friendly. The view underwater wasn't that great either, there were some fishies and statues of peace signs but there are definitely better views in Cancun. The "domestic open bar" was also a little disappointing - it was mainly just beer, blue lagoon, and rum punch. The bartender made me a tequila sunrise upon request though so maybe there's more if you ask. After snorkeling, we went to the Island Mujeres. There was a lunch buffet but it wasn't very good. The food wasn't well seasoned and there weren't too many options. The beach club was also pretty packed. It stormed during our time on the island and they lost power and water so the toilets weren't flushing. You could also ride golf carts during this portion of the tour to explore the island but it was an addition 43 USD to rent one. After lunch, they took us to another part of the island. At this point we realized there was no parasailing/spinnaker portion of the tour which was what we were most excited for. So we were LIED to. Apparently they haven't been doing it since the pandemic. There wasn't much to explore on the second part of the island either, we just bought some souvenirs and chilled at the beach. After that, they drove us back to Cancun. The staff were funny and put on a great show which is why I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1. I had fun but I don't think it was worth spending a whole day doing seemingly nothing but also something. If we had known this tour was pretty much just a boat ride to spend a day in a very Albatros-presenced part of Isle Mujeres, we probably would've chosen another way to spend our day. read more

This is a total rip off and a bait and switch. We paid 145 per person for our family of 5. Once we got to the "snorkeling area" they told me my two children 5 and 6 were too young to snorkel due to some BS water regulators thst made no sense. So they composed a hand written waiver for me to sign to allow them to snorkel after I demanded a refund. Then they dropped us in the middle of the ocean in a crazy current. I was a swimmer and a lifeguard so I was ok but it was not setup to benefit the patrons. I have been snorkeling in isla mujeres before and there is a great spot next to the island we were taken to last time that is totally protected and there were tons of fish. Then they take you to a part of the island where they "albatross tours" has completely monopolized that is all junk and very expensive. They allow you 1 hour at the north end of the island where all the great stuff is but stick you with their junk for 3.5 hours. The drinks had no alcohol in them and tasted very bad. The nets on the front of the catamaran had holes in them and we were not able to sit on them which eliminated about 40% of the seating area in thr bow of the boat. Overall these guys just wanted your money and were not concerned with the quality of your experience at all. My advice is to take the ferry to isla mujeres and get a boat to take you snorkeling from the island and get food and drinks there. This was the worst excursion experience I have ever had and I have been fortunate enouhtot have been on many in my life. Stear clear of this awful business. We spoke to others at our resort who had the same experience. Also paddle boarding was advertised which was a big draw for us. We paddle board frequently and we're really looking forward to going out there... there was not a single board or paddle on the boat. Worst experience imaginable. Was loaded on one boat. Completely loaded and then told our (13) group we r on the wrong boat? We followed instructions as given...your mistake! Off we go and and walk 1-2 mile down to another boat which was full. Stood in line for next and was told "5" minutes. 4 minutes Mexican means 35 minutes. Almost 2 hrs after getting in boat one we finally shoved off. Customer satisfaction is a zero. One misrepresentation after another and NO ONE with albatross cared less. If u can take another boat to Isla Muhere's take it and save yourself a lot of grief. Unhappy sailor here read more

My second time taking this tour. Last time I was disappoint a bit, boo-who, no big deal. What peeved me was that when we went snorkeling we were rushed and grouped together. Like hurry, hurry, hurry. Lets go. Like 20 mins snorkling at each location. I think we went to 3. We seen some hand statues briefly. Rushed in & out. Was pretty cool though. My first time in another county. They took us on the Isle Mujeres and we got free golf carts and they showed us around. We were rushed. But still was cool to see everything by cart. This last trip. I see they are money hungry and you tell you the world and don't deliver with excuses. Always the current. They stick you on an island during the times you should be snorkling during calm waters. I knew it before it happened what was going on... Now they take you out on a boat and give you cheap alcohol and get you so drunk you don't remember you doing any of the activities they promised you. So instead, what they are doing is getting one group of people and dropping them of at a remote location on sun radioactive island with free booze. They go get another group and drop them off and so on. Over and over. No golf carts this time. They said you have 3 hours to be back here when the boat leaves so stay close by. They will be to leave in about 2.5 hours. So in order to get a golf cart is like $80/hr or something now. So you are stuck on this remote sliver of a beach that is scorching hot sun (I got an extreme sun burn on my feet). They leave you there as a hostage. Everyone was ready to leave 4 hours ago. They came what felt like 5 hours, but in reality it was 4.5 hours later. Lo and behold any genius would know the waters would be more active at this hour and pretty late anyways. They took us back and gave us 15 mins to get off they boat and get in a semicircle and hurry up and get back on the boat. So all they are doing is taking you from one side of the water to the other. Just dropping you off hostage. Pick you up and hall you back asap to home base with a dip in water for 15 mins. We were told that we going to be taking to some of the most beautiful parts of the islands. They were going to take us to one of the houses of El Chapo Guzman. See this and that on the island. Then, we were going to go exploring the reefs in the ocean. Then be taken to Musa and see the under water museum. They told us this and that and sounded pretty exhaustive of all the activities they had in store. We did nothing but get transported to a baren beach to burn. They are making like $5,000 per boat trip in USA dollars here. All of this they can't even do what they say they are going to do. Instead they load boat after boat onto the island as fast they can. Pretty shady. I came for snorkeling. The main reason I traveled 2,800 miles is to video Musa underwater museum. Or to do the same activities as last time (hopefully without being rushed). I wanted to take lots of photo graphs. I was under the impression we were going to multiple spots and spending a few hours in the water and taken places on Isla Mujeres to see. Nope. Dropped off on a deserted island and abandoned. Dirty deed. $$$$ Misleading and deceptive. They will tell you whatever you want to hear. They promise it all. read more

Just Amazing (our catamaran) was nothing less than that. This excursion was from 10am-5pm with 2 stops on Isla Mujeres. There was around 45 people on the boat. I'd encourage not to let them up sale you on the "more exclusive" boat. On the way to the island you are allowed to snorkel with the group on your boat. Here you will see many fish and a small under water museum! Take your GoPro. 1st stop on the Isla: about 1hr 45min which allows you time to hit the beach or do some shopping. Stay away from the "Cuban" cigars because they are fake! We headed to the other side of the island which isn't too far. The views and water were amazing! You have the option to rent a golf cart to tour the island however there are too many distractions along the way to pass up. 2nd stop on the Isla: takes you to your included food. Yes it's mediocre and bland but the beach is calm, beautiful, and you can kayak. Grab a drink and soak up the rays. On the way back to Cancun we enjoyed the "spinner?". This is kind of like parasailing but much more fun! Jump into the water and grab on to the sail that will take you high for a few seconds. It's such a thrill. See video! The trip was complete with GREAT service. Our captain Al was so helpful and we enjoyed talking to him. Sit near the back...you get shade and better service. Be nice and they will make your drinks strong and your trip great;) This was by far my favorite excursion in Cancun! read more

They where late leaving the dock and the check in experience where they try and sell you everything you need, other than sea sickness pills don't buy anything they are selling, you probably won't need it and hopefully brought a towel with you. They sailed us off the coast for 10 minute snorkeling and then dropped us at a "resort" where we ate and held while the boat left to go get more people as we "partied" on some private beach in warm stagnant lagoon with sea weed, they where supposed to come back and pick us up at 4 but they where almost an hour late to pick us back up. So they picked us up late so we figured we wouldn't get any time shopping but unfortunately we went downtown on the boat and they brought us into a "tequila" tasting which ended up being them locking us in a. Warehouse as they forced us to drink more "free" alcohol and as someone who doesn't drink it's annoying to have booze drink after booze drink shoved in my face. It's constantly the tour company forcing you into some sales pitch for tequila or a massage or another excursion. Oh and after the first leg of the 4 legs of our journey there was no water to drink and couldn't get a coke without rum in it.... We where supposed to be back at 5-6 and we ended up back at 7:45pm so it ruined our evening plans since they only fed us lunch and we where starving by the time we got back to Cancun. read more

We booked several extracurricular activities via BD travel @ Panama Jacks PDC . . Booked an all day luxury catamaran tour from Cancun to isla mujeres with snorkeling all inclusive beverages and food. We arrived to find that everyone who also booked this excursion from our hotel was on a different boat, we boarded the most basic non luxury catamaran. I approached the captain and he said the nicer boats were more money for people who spent over 65$. We paid 100$ each. So by the time he told us to get off the boat after showing him the receipt. He said if we didn't get on- we would not go out at all. The snorkeling was basic. No reef, was in the water less than 20 mins Bc too many other boats and strong currents. The food was very basic and buffet style At isla mujeres also they had no cups to drink from. So we made do and used soup bowls. They came to the table and said we are welcome and encouraged to leave tips. Oh hell no, We arrived at isla mujeres and rented a golf car and toured the island. When we arrived back the leader for the boat told us "i have bad news" he said that we were missing our transport home if we didn't board another vessel (they picked up additional people cutting into the snorkel time told to us) we grabbed our belongings boarded the correct style-ship and went back to port in Cancun. As we arrived we found the people very unhelpful. We finally found someone who said the transport left. She called them and they came back to get us- while on our ride. Our van got a flat tire. Delaying us home until 9pm. We spoke to several people who were on the cheap catamaran and they all paid about 22$. We paid 100$ same as everyone on the bus. Everyone on the bus was on the same boat except us. Weird right?! We asked. They paid the same as us. NEVER BOOK W THEM OR TEAM ALBATROSS. read more

It should have been called "Marina Alcatraz" because we felt like prisoners of this excursion all day. I agree with the first four bad reviews! It was an absolute sh** show. They made us wait so many times in the scorching heat for nothing, extremely disorganized stops and pick ups. The whole experience was frustrating and messy. The crew kept trying to make silly jokes to entertain and they did do a good job "trying to entertain" which is why I'm giving it two stars instead of one, for the effort, you know. The snorkeling segment of this excursion was supposed to be a marine reserve, yet the official guides were feeding the fish frozen tortillas. I'm sure that's part of the natural diet of the fish, just straight up tortillas. Also, the part of the ocean where they took us was so murky and there were barely any fish. It was the most pathetic marine reserve I've ever seen, almost made me wanna cry. The sad part is that we all knew there are actually gorgeous parts to snorkel in Cancun with incredible fish, it was just very disappointing. The fish weren't even colorful, I can find more diversity looking through a tiny fish bowl at a store. As for the inclusive lunch we had on one of the islands, wow, really really bad. The only thing I ended up eating was cabbage salad. Everything was extremely disappointing and not even edible. Couldn't wait till we got out of there and went to the next island where we ended up buying our own food from better restaurants. A very miserable way to spend the day, totally wasted, won't ever recommend to anyone. Don't ever book with them! read more

I debated on leaving a review. I did the luxury snorkel to Isla Mujeres on The Big Chill. The crew on the platinum level catamaran were mostly fantastic. It's amazing how one jerk can ruin an excursion. The photographer on the catamaran apparently also decided to be the comedic relief. There were mostly couples on board. I was the one single male. I didn't want my photo taken (I can take a selfie, thanks). That apparently irked him, so jokes were made at my expense for everyone to hear about my being single. There was nervous laughter from those around. That egged him on to tell a few more jokes at my expense. I finally just ignored him, he grew bored, and walked away. Being fresh out of a relationship, there was nothing funny about this. Needless to say, I won't be booking with this company again when snorkeling in Cancún. read more

This tour was great. The crew worked hard to please everyone. We were picked up from our hotel. First stop was snorkeling. I did not snorkel but I did jump into the ocean to cool off. some people complained that this part was too short and really not much to see. Our second stop was lunch and it was very good. We got about an hour and a half to eat and look around. There are hammocks in the ocean to swing in but we found out they were rotted but we took a picture anyway. there is a sign with a swing for photos. the biggest and best part was for $2 you could hold a nurse shark and take pictures. We jumped back on the catamaran and went to the other end of Isla Mujeres. there we paid $30 for 4 of us to take a golf cart around the island. We had too much fun. It is not as easy as they state....a big circle to get back. We did get lost. It is only four miles but if you don't follow the others you may get confused like we did. After the hour we had a drink and went back to the catamaran. We went out about half way and they let us swim again for about 20 minutes because there was no wind to go up in a sling and jump into the water. Great day... well worth the cost. Enjoy! We went ahead and upgraded to the Albatros LuxuryPlatinum expecting smooth sailing to Isla Mujeres, it was the complete opposite, it was a decent crowd but half of the obnoxious crew members were acting as if they were entertaining a bunch of drunk frat boys on a party boat. The music was absolutely awful, I'm a huge fan of hip hop but this was definitely not the place to enjoy it. It set an awkward tone amongst the crowd with loud obscenities being amplified through the speakers. The drinks were mediocre and made me sick, the all inclusive meal at the island was basic and bland. They over expressed how we needed to be back at the boat at 1 and they were late. They kept some of us waiting out in the hot sun much longer than needed. Will never book with this company again and I recommend against it read more

I travel often and do tours and this in my 20 yrs of traveling was hands down the worst. Any one would be better.

I chose this attraction as part of my GoCity Cancun pass for my last day of vacation. There must be no communication between the two companies because when we arrived there was no record of our reservation and it took at least 15 minutes to sort out. The boat ride was smooth and lots of fun. The staff was constantly pouring drinks. They pushed golf cart rental for $35 for a hr. ride. When we declined, we were told we would not be able to leave the beach club at all. I was disappointed I would not be allowed to see a little bit of the island. The beach club is small. We immediately hit the water and it was disgusting! The bottom was slimy and squishy and lots and lots of seaweed. There was nothing else to do. The buffet had lots of options. I particularly enjoyed the fish tacos. They had a large selection of drinks and the staff kept pouring them. It was very confusing and disorganized about when to leave. we went back on the boat at 3 and they took us out to snorkel. It was very rushed and way too many people to snorkel. Way too crowded! When jumping off the boat, my son lost his own personal mask and snorkel but a staff member was able to graciously find it and retrieve it for us! The highlight of the ride was that my son was able to ride the spinnaker which he absolutely loved. Overall we were not staying at an all inclusive, so being able to eat, drink, and relax, but if you are staying at an all inclusive I'm not sure this would be a good option for you. Right now I'm upset our hotel concierge signed us up for this tour and I'll be letting him know what a mess it was We were picked up at our hotel in an air conditioned van and driven to the marina in Cancun. When we got off the boat we waited in line. After about 10 minutes I got out of line and tried to find out why we were all standing in line. Apparently you have to pay a docking fee and some people hadn't bought their tickets yet. We had tickets so I asked if there was a separate line and there wasn't. A young lady tried to upsell us, looked at our tickets, said something and then walked away. After another 40 minutes in line, in the blazing heat, my temper was also starting to blaze. My husband found someone who said there was a shorter line if we upgraded. I wanted to hold firm and not give into the scam but showed the guy our ticket to see how much more it would be. That's when he told us we had the premium package already and we should be in the shorter line. That's why the girl had stopped trying to upsell us. Another 10 minutes in the shorter line and we paid our $24 to use the dock We sailed to Isla Mujeres and the crew were all very nice and extremely helpful. Our "cruise director" said we could rent golf carts on the island to explore. We put our name on the list and were ushered to the golf cart rental upon our arrival to the island. (Helpful hint, don't bother, it was a waste of $30) When we rented our cart, they took my drivers license. When we returned our cart, the rental place didn't have my license, I was instructed to go to the market down the street, and they would have my license. Once there I was passes around from person to person, asking for my license. Each person tried to sell me something and I felt like I was in a game of keep away. Finally, when I was beyond livid, my license magically appeared in the hands of the first guy we'd asked. I hate scams and shadiness! At this point I wasn't going to spend a penny if my life depended on it because I didn't like the manipulation involved My husband and I have been coming to Mexico every summer for years and we always book a snorkeling trip. This by far was the worst. Other than the dishonesty involved, it was disorganized and we felt like cattle being prodded along. The only positive thing I can write is that the crew worked hard and was outstanding. The tour itself is horrible if you have a family with teens. It's a complete booze cruise and nothing more. Do not take this tour if you would like to see a lovely beach or if you would like to go to a good snorkeling spot. Our boat the Amazona has about 75 people on it maybe more it's hard to tell but it was packed. We were taken to a beach club with virtually no sand to sit on and not nearly enough lounge chairs for the hundreds of people at the club. We were forced to sit in a crowded dining room because there was no beach available! They had a few kayaks but that's it. Not fun for a 15 year old. We rented golf carts but the tour wasn't fun however it was better than sitting in the dining room. The snorkeling portion was pure chaos. We are divers so we have been around long enough to know what's good and this tour literally had people jumping in choppy water with little guidance or preparation. These tours are full of people that never snorkel or that can't swim well and this sight and scene was borderline dangerous. Chaotic. Then we were brought to town to shop and eat. It's was fine but by that time my family was beyond bored and wanted off the excursion from hell. I think the young enjoyed themselves as it's truly a booze cruise and nothing more. If you want an adventure or to sit at a lovely beach this is not your tour. read more

We took the Platinum cruise to Isla Majores. We were sold a bill of goods that the liquor was upgraded, the food was better and our catamaran would be less crowded. The food was miserable (dried up hamburgers, etc., cheap liquor and a tour guide who was annoying from start to finish. And for 20 minutes at the end the crew hassled us seeking a tip trying to embarrass us into tipping. Find another service. This one SUCKS. Also we were promised snorkeling and were given the lame excuse that the weather wouldn't allow it. The weather was perfect and the water calm. Ripoff. read more

When we arrived at the dock we were immediately given the upgrade talk. We opted out of upgrading. We were then shown to a different boat, not Albatros... It was pretty crowded and unfortunately the music left A LOT to be desired, but enjoying the scenery was amazing! The food on the island was ok. All of the staff we very nice! The pictures of our group were good, so we bought them. They stressed not to be late for pickup from the island, but they left us sitting in the beaming sun with no shade for 30 minutes. There is NO dancing. A lot of sitting and sunning. Again, the staff was very nice! Maybe change up the music and be on time for pickup at the dock. read more
