Pina colada!
Claire M.

Perfect stop for a drink while touring Old San Juan! My husband and I stopped in here while biking through Old San Juan. We were thirsty for any good drink, and the vibes seemed to be good at Marilyn's Place, so we decided to try it out. The bar is small, with just a few seats inside and a very cool atmosphere with Marilyn Monroe photos lining the walls and a tiny cave-like bathroom. The bartender was amazing - super quick and his drinks were delish. We ordered a special pina colada and a beer and we were sooo satisfied with both as we sipped them on the patio. Good times at Marilyn's!

Super Cool. 25 years in Old San Juan. Nice menu for appetizers. You can feel the love!

If you are a Marylin Monroe fan this bar is the place for you. It is a small cute bar covered with all types of Marylin Monroe decor. This is a nice bar to stop at after a day of walking in Old San Juan, there were 2 bartenders serving the inside and outside. The drinks were normal nothing fancy, but overall it was a nice bar for a quick drink.

I don't have any complaints about Marilyn's Place except I wish there was a place like this in Atlanta. This is an adorable little restaurant with a great set up for outdoor seating, amazing drinks, and yummy food. Me and my girlfriends easily got a table outside a little before 8pm and stayed until 10 just enjoying the food, drinks, and atmosphere. I wanted to try the sangria and man was it sweet and delicious. Loved it. I would come just for that! Use three ladies ordered two orders of chicken tacos (so 4 tacos total), the guacamole, and the empanadas and alcapurrias sampler and it was more than enough food for us to all share. It's a great place for individuals, couples, or small groups of 3-6 people. I wouldn't suggest it for large groups simpler because seating is limited and you may not be able to easily seat your entire party.

Great small bar in Old San Juan. Always great to have a few drinks when visiting. It has outdoor seating.

One of my favorite bars in Old San Juan. Tastefully decorated with Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. The owners are very nice they make amazing mojitos and other drinks. The mojitos are made with real fruit if there are too sweet for you you can ask no sugar. My favorite is the coconut mojito no sugar my husband's is the mango mojito. They also have a small food menu. They have out front garden sitting. it is a small place they will make drinks to go also you can get food to go. I love this place!

A couple of piña coladas ($6), the official drink of Puerto Rico! Frozen and tasty, mmhmm!

GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES You can find good snacks and frozen drinks at this small restaurant in Old San Juan. Named after the iconic 50's bombshell, this place is less than a block away from Catedral de San Juan Bautista (the 2nd oldest church in the Americas). Marilyn's has quite a lot of reviews for being a well-hidden dive bar, which surprised me. After desperately seeking a spot to eat lunch at on 1/1/19 (everywhere was closed on New Years' Day), we stumbled upon this hideaway. Nichole C was in the mood for fried food, so we put in an order for their "mix platter" ($16). It came with an assortment of 6 tasty mozzarella sticks, 4 mini cheese quesadillas, half a dozen chicken taquitos, and sour cream + marinara for dipping. Kinda expensive for what we got. We washed all that down with a couple piña coladas ($6) that totally hit the spot. They have lots of Marilyn Monroe posters and memorabilia around the bar area, plus a friendly resident kitty by the name of 'Toba'. * TL;DR * Just like our visit, this review is short 'n' sweet. Drinks are solid but the prices of food kinda caught us off guard. I'd recommend stopping in for a mojito or other adult beverage on your walk through scenic Old San Juan.

Cutest dive bar ever. I feel bad categorizing this spot as a dive bar but not sure how else to explain this one of a kind spot. All photos are about Marilyn Monroe. It's dark. The building is from the 1600s. The bathrooms give away that this building is a historical gem. Has air conditioning but sitting outside in the well gardened side walk seating is even more joyful. A neighborhood Old San Juan Bar - one of the finest. Also: I totally chipped one of my bottom tooth trying to crunch on the passion fruit seed. Don't do what I did. Lol. Just drink the damn drink.

Great little bar named for Marilyn Monroe. Friendly service and good prices. We will ordered a couple drinks and chips/salsa. We will definitely come back when the kitchen is open to try more food.

Ice coconut drink and guava mojito

Staff are very friendly. Our drinks are incredibly tasty. Cute cafe on side street in old San Juan. Would come back here in a heartbeat.

The sangria was good too but why order anything else when you can get the perfect mojito here.

I desperately needed this after Mallorcas galore! Time is a bit fluid so they will open up a half hour late, but their happy hour deals run all night long, and every night. Some of the food will be fresh, and some will be less desirable. But I'm not mad I stopped here- Ya can't really beat two margaritas for $10 and two tacos for $7. The chicken is dry, so opt for the pork tacos. Request for the cook to go easy on the salt on every dish, especially with the fish.

My partner is Mexican and I'm a world traveler who has eaten Mexican food cooked by Mexicans (partners, suegras, cooks, sister in laws, etc) for 14 years. I don't want to see yellow cheese and any sort of lettuce on my tacos. Like everywhere in San Juan, the atmosphere is rustic burned out bar, aka perfect. The woman running the front of the house was casual and friendly, and unlike some of our dining experiences here, prompt and attentive. We ordered the special mole enchiladas and alhambre, plus elotes, drinks and desert. The menu is something I would be excited to explore in the United States, lots of traditional dishes including several moles, birria, cochinita pibil, tacos, etc. It's southern Mexican cuisine, and when we learned the chef is from Puebla it made perfect sense. The food was excellent. After days without spicy anything (why does everywhere offer Tabasco?) we were excited to have three homemade hot sauces brought to our table. The mole was very special, and I've eaten like six kinds of mole in Oaxaca. Enchiladas with perfectly done vegetables covered half in white and half in the more traditional dark/mole Poblano. I wish I could recreate it over and over at home. My partner's food was also excellent, and everything we saw coming out looked great. So sad we can't come again soon.

AMBIANCE: Parking: Welcome to Old San Juan, it get get pretty busy - best to carpool or do public transportation. Seating: Indoor seating or private cabana set ups for groups. Room for a total of 100 people. Feels: Welcome to Old San Juan, a mix of touristy and culture. The spot itself is popular for locals and tourists. As for the space itself, what's unique about this spot is this place isn't just one bar. It's actually a series of connected rooms (about 6-7 different spaces), each with its own vibe - speak easy, dance, casual, house, live music and more! I'm surprised each room can contain it's sounds while maintaining its own energy. It feels like a speakeasy maze meets nightlife experience. Dim lighting, vintage touches, and just enough chaos in a good way. DRINKS/EXPERIENCE It was such a fun night, not sure what I ordered but there is an abundance of flavors as every room has different selections. But popular drinks if you're looking for guidance - lavendar mule, espresso martini, a classic mojito. They got the classic to your well-crafted cocktails. Some spots provide food while others is sip and chill or sip and dance. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Fast-paced but solid. Staff keeps up with the crowd and still manages to be engaging. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars! Good choices, reasonable prices, and a vibe like no other. As a gemini that can be quite indecisive, I enjoyed this spot - especially with its multiple options. This is more than a bar - it's an experience. A spot where the night can go longer than expected. TIPS: * Walk through ALL the rooms--you'll miss half the experience if you don't
