Great empanadas! The Setas Queso were my favorite. If you like mushrooms, try these. You won't be disappointed. My husband love the hot sauces that are made in the premises. The Mango Pina was the best. We wanted to buy some to take home but you have to come in to enjoy it. Wide selection of beers. Great atmosphere. The guys are really friendly and accommodating. It's family owned and downs feel like a tourist trap at all. A+++
What a find. Pastrami empanadas and Puerto Rican rum on the rocks. I am highly impressed. Great service even though they're busy and small. Cool little place. I tried several other empanadas and every sauce they recommended and liked them all.
Very cute spot and the empanadas were delicious. My favorite was the churrasco and cheese, then the chorizo and the pollo. They multiple hot sauces to choose from but the spicy aoli with the steak and chicken is a must try. Service was fast and the guys were super welcoming.
This place was on our list of places to try. The oldest Empanada bar in Puerto Rico. Super crowded and super local. Super hot day and the restaurant was just as hot. Not a very big place but it was super packed. The empanadas were deep fried. The drinks were cold. Some people say this is the spot for empanadas. They are tasty. The mushroom one's my favorite. Can't go wrong here, just might take some time being seated. Overall a 8.2 out of 10.
came here a month ago and had a great time! service is quick and the lady serving us was so sweet to explain all the empanada options + popular drinks. empanada was delicious and comforting. we did the chicken and one vegetarian and both were super stuffed with filling and felt like a warm hug when you are them. we ordered drinks as well (can't remember the name) but they were creatively made with one having smoke coming out from the top. it's a small place, but most folks quickly eat, drink and leave. the surrounding area is also wonderful to hang out and grab a bite/drink in a few different places while exploring. 10/10 recommend!
An unsuspecting place for empanadas, but this ended up being one of my favorite bites in Old San Juan. This bar makes fresh empanadas daily, and they were still coming out with fresh ones around 4 PM when we stopped by. We tried several of them, with the chorizo one being my favorite. We got them super quickly after ordering them at the bar, and we happily ate them to-go. The bar is incredible my lively with great ambience though, so I'll have to stop by and sit for a drink next time.
Came across this bar while walking around the city. So glad that we stopped here! Highly recommend, everything from the service, the drinks, and the fresh empanadas was a 10/10. Can't wait to return during my next visit as this was definitely a highlight of my trip.
Super cute and quirky bar with incredible empanadas! They have a fun cocktail menu and beer on tap as well as several flavors of empanadas. The chicken was so juicy and tender, and the crust of the empanada was perfect.
One of my favorite places to visit whenever in town. Always cool vibes here, whether watching a game or having great conversations with friends or others. Several local beers are available on tap, can or bottle. A definite must try is the empanadas, the best on the island. I've tried each, Chorizo, Carne Papas, Espinacas y queso and Pollo. My favorites are the spinach and the beef ones. Hot, tasty and slightly filling. The bartenders are supper cool and provide attention and quick service. Thanks Javier, see you next time

Super friendly service and lowkey, comfortable spot to hang out and enjoy empanadas and so many types of beer! Yesterday's selection of empanadas included chicken, ground beef with plantains (carne Amarillo), mixed vegetables, chorizo and pulled pork. We tried chicken and ground beef, and the beef was our favorite. The two hot sauces, aguacate and mango & pina were perfect complements. Worth visiting and finishing with some drunken cookies across the street!
Stopped in here as my last food spot while in PR. After sitting at the bar for a couple of hours, we needed a quick bite and our local new friends suggested this place. We stopped in and ordered some empanadas on the run lol. These were absolutely delicious! I had the beef and it was so juicy and flavorful. The staff was quick to get me the goods and on my way as we raced back to not miss our flight. Definitely stop in if looking for a yummy empanada while in old San Juan

Been here multiple times and appreciate that they are open late. We love the empanadas and the drinks! Small bar and restaurant in Old San Juan with good service. They have a variety of empanadas and all are good, but my favorites are the chicken and the spinach/veggie ones. Plenty of hot sauces (try the mango) and mayo ketchup to enjoy with them. They also have good drinks, we really liked their version of an espresso martini and the happy hour drinks for $5 including the rum punch. read more
Cute bar for a quick drink and empanada break! The bartender was so sweet and kept checking up on us throughout our visit. I loved the sauces that came with the empanadas, they were definitely the highlight for me! Such a chill bar with a relaxed atmosphere. I really loved the vibes here. read more

Little bar and restaurant with special empanadas. We tried just 2 kinds because we're still full from Chocobar Cortes. But still you can distinguish the unique way of cooking this empanadas. Owners are very friendly and even explained the different kinds of empanadas. Ambiance is wonderful. read more
If you happen to venture to San Juan..by all means take an Uber over to Old San Juan and visit this place with an appetite cause this place has absolutely the BEST empanadas!! Actually went there twice..had the pollo, chorizo, and the asada each time and they were incredibly good. Just a local dive bar with fantastic food!! If we ever go back I'll be sure to visit this place again!! Yums!!! read more
Couldn't resist coming here yet again!! Got the ever awesome La Taina and DH had the rum punch. Add 2 house made chicken empanadas with the requisite pina/mango sauce (just the right amount of heat and sweet) ... what could be better! Finally got a pic of awesome attentive bartenders ... who put extra care into making their drinks!! Great atmosphere with so much character ... it's our go to place EVERY time!! read more

The empanadas are delicious and very fairly priced. All the staff were accommodating and welcoming, ripe with suggestions on what to order. There's no empanada menu as they are made daily and choices vary, but we really liked the beef and cheese! It is a local bar, so the space is small, loud, and can get a bit crowded but not in a way that negatively affected our experience! read more
This spot is perfect for delicious empanadas and a few drinks. The empanadas come out so fast and they taste really fresh and homemade. The dough is the perfect texture and they have a lot of filling inside. They rotate flavors but when we went they had chicken, mushroom & cheese, steak, and chorizo. All were really good but the chorizo was my favorite. Even though it's a bar and can get pretty crowded, our service was still quick and our server was friendly. There are tables to sit and plenty of bar space too. I can definitely see why this place has such good reviews! read more
Such a fun location sports/community bar environment to enjoy a drink and pair with super (uber) tasty empanadas and 10+ sauces/salsa. The staffs are very casual and friendly too. Back to the empanadas- omg, they are warm, crunchy with tasty fillings. Trying the different sauces was a treat too. Love the pork empanada and the carne empanada with guava salsa. Yum!!! The pina colada was very good as well. If I live here, you'll see me coming here at least a few times a week for breakfast, lunch or light dinner read more
Your local, dive bar that's friendly and cheap. We got seated right away and got some drinks: Old Fashioned ($11) and Irish Mule ($8). But what is an absolute must here are the empanadas. They have various flavors, but by the time we arrived on a Sunday night, they only had chicken and spinach left. We ordered both flavors for $3.74 each, which came out super quick. As soon as we had one, we knew we had to order more. They're so flavorful, crunchy, and delicious --perfect bar snack! read more
Most amazing empandas I have ever had! Individually handmade at this family owned empanda restaurant and bar! They offer chicken chorizo, veggie empandas for $5, as well as a daily drink specials list for $5. They had beer on tap and a full bar. We were greeted and sat as soon as we walked in. Server gave us a quick rundown of offerings and took our order. Within minutes, we had cold drinks and hot empandas in front of us. If you go to San Juan, you must add this place to your list of places to visit, you won't regret it! read more
Later night stop, this place was on my hit list of my Yelp research prior to our trip. Great choice! A casual dive bar appeal. Good crowd. Great vibes! We ordered their last four chicken empenadas (my guess is they make for the day, and they run out) the other choice was cheese and mushroom. The bartender? Super friendly. Recommend me a local IPA and gave us advice on cool local eats. Always get advice from locals! If I lived here, I'd see this place as a haunt. Not fancy. Just good vibes, conversation, and food! I think we'll likely return again before our trip ends! read more

Fast and prompt service, clean space, kind people. I enjoyed this place. I got the beef and cheese empanada to start. The pastry is exceptional: Soft and buttery and chewy (unlike many of the crunchy deep-friend meat pies common in San Juan). I ended up getting a bourbon cocktail that was well-balanced and strong. I loved the first empanada so much that I ordered six to go for the rest of my group to try. They all loved it! read more
This was one of my favorite places in all of San Juan. The empanadas are remarkable, the drinks are on-point, and the staff are incredibly. We loved it so much we went back the next day. I love that they encourage respect for the locals. It's a welcoming place with a great atmosphere. Understand that it is small and popular with the locals so, sometimes, it will be packed. Great family run bar that serves Beer (birra) and homemade, fresh, meat packed empanadas ($4). My partner and I had the chicken and beef empanadas separately, there were also a mushroom and a chorizo empanada that we did not have. The beef selection was absolutely delicious! After eating my chicken, I ordered another beef. We sat at the counter and watched the servers go back and forth taking orders and slamming the dough into the oven, just to retrieve the best cooked snack 20 minutes later! There may be a wait time on your order, but there are games all around to keep you occupied. We played the True or False card game. Note: There's a corner store right next door that has a "pharmacy" for anyone that suffers from acid reflux like me. The local brand was 6/$4 and worked IMMEDIATELY. I look forward to visiting this local restaurant again! read more
