We were not all served at the same time. I decided to go for the Chef's special. They forgot my starter of garlic bread but when it came after everyone had finished theirs it was like a small pizza, and was hot and very, very yummy! However, during the mains, they forgot our sides, so by the time it arrived after prompting, our mains, sea bass and steak, got a little cold. The sauteed potatoes were a little under cooked too, but by that time, we really wanted to eat and so did not bother to make another complaint. Still a good place and prices still very good value. Will return!

My husband then decided he wanted a pizza after all so a waiter used an outdoor sign on coffee placed earlier outside as an impromptu table, placing it on a bench and getting two chairs. Viola for ingenuity! Also major props for taking the whiskey/ginger drink off the bill as my husband couldn't stomach it. I got my pizza on beans and he got a special of tomato sauce, meat, olives, paprika etc. Mine was just... Fine. The tomato sauce was hearty but that was the only real flavour; it was pretty bland. The pizza crust was slightly burnt. My husband same the same of the flavour: just fine, nothing spectacular. Again, I am sadly reaffirmed that nothing beats a great NY pizza. How sad others have not experienced that.

The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful, never hesitating to answer any questions or even to just replace your chilli oil if nothing is coming out. Sodo specialises in sourdough pizza. The sourdough gives a lovely crunchy crust and a bit of kick to the whole pizza. All the options are made with fresh ingredients, and their specials change frequently if you'd like to try something new. My favourite is the classic Margherita, while my husband gobbles up the cured meat pizza. We've had other options that have been good, but when you find your favourite, it's great to just have it every time we get to Clapton. AND THE GARLIC BREAD. What garlic bread! The flavours of garlic and rosemary blend together so well, and putting that on thin slices of sourdough is such a delicious experience. Do try them! The beer selection is also very good. I'm a fan of Beavertown and Kernel breweries, and Sodo stocks beer from both! These owners are just too cool. One of the best pizza restaurants in London, I promise you!

Fortunately, I just happened to look on FindMy and saw she was not where she should've been. I called, she told me her predicament and so I told her to go into a shop or restaurant until I could pick her up. The staff at Flat Earth Pizzas welcomed her in, assured her she could stay as long as necessary and even gave her a hot chocolate on the house. Kudos to the staff. But the best surprise of all is in the dessert: La Ruga creates its own house speciality, "toffee bread", which isn't like bread at all. We also shared the tart and tiramisu, which were equally delicious, but nothing topped that toffee bread. Might be my favorite dessert IN THE WORLD. And I know that's quite a claim, but I stand by it, darn it! Such a special place. Staff are super friendly and accommodating, particularly for families with small children/babies.
