Jitter Bean Oasis has fantastic coffee (they use Mahalia from Robe), and delicious sweets. My partner had the citrus tart, and said it was the best she had ever had (big call!), and I had a vanilla slice which was amazing. The savoury pies and pasties looked amazing too, and the staff were absolutely lovely. Highly recommended!!

Needless to say, as soon as I discovered this place I stopped, jumped out, and grabbed a coffee. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to grab some breakfast, but I did grab what turned out to be an awesome coffee. Yeah, my gut feeling turned out to be correct, this place was awesome, but then again many of the awesome coffee shops happen to be located in the back streets, much like this one.

The menu is basic with burgers and wraps getting a strong showing but don't let that turn you off as they all taste great. If you have kids this is a really great venue as well. Dad had a coffee and a slice of carrot cake, while mum and I chose to have something more substantial. (Dessert is substantial right?) Mum ordered the three cheese souffle which was served with what I can only describe as a beetroot terrine. The souffle was yum and now I'm tempted to try and make it at home, as well as the beetroot terrine. Layers of beetroot and beetroot jelly. I ordered the shiraz poached pear served with vanilla ice cream. This dish was also yum but seeing as the menu seemed to be favouring local produce I was expecting more. I felt that the dish was served with too much of the poaching liquid I would have liked it to be strained as biting into a bay leaf wasn't all the appetising. That said the pear was yummy and a I enjoyed the meal. I just would have liked the pear to have been cored so I didn't have to eat around the pips and I would have prefered home made ice cream. Some of the best milk in the area could really be utilised here. Would I come back? Absolutely! Would I expect less than the menu seems to promote? Yes, and it will be enjoyable.

The chunky clusters of oat, walnut, almond, apricot, and cranberry was crunchy yet chewy - the baked nature had not taken all the moisture away. Coffee ... the real reason to drop in... This was wonderful. Smooth. Delicate but fully flavoured. Bitter sweet notes with hints of caramel. Atmosphere is relaxed and very friendly. Definitely a good way to start my day.

I've come here a couple of times because it's the only cafe close to my grandparents house. This cafe is gorgeous, well decorated and cozy. The lady owner and her younger crew are nice enough, there isn't a whole lot of one-on-one experience with them as they continuously pump out coffees, milkshakes, soup and cake! The impression I got from my outings here suggested it was a pleasant half-way stop, where people simply walked in with their family during Fleurieu Peninsula travels. Now, I've had a fair few milkshakes in my time, but these are the most amazingly frosty and tasty milkshakes ever! They're not like your typical Wendy's teenager who will sparingly give just enough chocolate topping to stop it tasting like plain milk. Anyway, the food. We shared two servings of fresh scones with jam and cream, all of which was fantastic. The scones were freshly baked (still warm) and they weren't frugal on the amount of jam and cream either (big pet peeve of mine). There really isn't a lot in little old Yankalilla, but every time I visit my grandparents I want to go back! A big thumbs up for this little cafe!
