Yum! We were on our way to our regular coffee shop till one of my friends suggested trying this…read moreplace out and the biggest thanks goes to her! The Good Apple Cafe is a really cute small cafe and I think it actually just opened recently! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted the smiles of friendly staff members and a cozy setting of chairs and tables. Here's the big plus....this cafe is vegan! Have you ever tried vegan rocky road? Gluten-free Orange and passion fruit cupcakes? It's literally a world of wonders in there! Not only that, you've got yourself a vast selection of hot drinks, including an even greater selection of teas (no seriously there's actually a lot!). If you're hungry, that's it's own story. Lots of choices ranging from bagels to wraps and even yummy sweets! I'm gonna be super boring and just tell you right away I had a cappuccino despite all these choices lol! Other selections included a rooibos creme caramel tea (you read that correctly.....I've never smelled something so beautiful), regular black tea, matcha latte (delicious!), and a grilled cheese sandwich with a side of a latte. Everyone loved their choices! Prices are very reasonable: drinks are all under £2-3 depending on your selection and food is anywhere between £3-6! Free wifi for all you Internet lovers and they have a stack of magazines and novels in the corner in case you just wanna zone out for a bit. On our way out we managed to catch the barista taking freshly baked red velvet cupcakes out of the oven.....nothing better than seeing your food made fresh! Definitely recommend:) Ps the tea comes in cute little blue teapots and I don't know why I loved them so much but I hope you do too :)

Spending time back near where I went to university, and I love this place so much. It shows how…read moresuccessful they are, when you realise this premises is the new one they had to acquire a couple of doors down from the original, because there was just no room for the customer base they had built up! The ladies in there are marvellous, friendly women, who definitely know their tea and cake! As you walk through the glass frontage, the decor is vintage/rustic/local, with walls filled with cute posters and twee ornaments without being sickly. The new place is light and spacious, with at least double the tables of the last little shop, which you can reserve or hope there is one free (I missed out on graduation day in November and was very grumpy!) but the thing to behold for me is the tea shelf. Wander over, and pick your tea in a mug or a pot by perusing the labels and opening the big glass Kilner jars to sniff at the gorgeous varieties of loose leaf teas inside. They do cakes well, and their Danishes are fabulous, a nice range of sandwiches and bagels means you aren't stuck for choice whether you have a sweet or savoury tooth. Another deal not to miss is their afternoon tea, now £10 for a slice of cake, scone, sandwich and unlimited tea. I've spent many an afternoon taking advantage of the unlimited tea! Check out; The chocolate mint tea The turkish delight tea The cream earl grey tea The lemon danishes Wednesleydale and mango chutney sarnies (I used to seriously rib my dad for this combo when I was in middle school, but so good) The chocolate bar cakes And some pretty good vegan bakes too

The tea house is one of my favourite places to frequent. The cafe itself has a lovely old-timey…read moretheme, with quiet, but relaxing music in the background. There's a massive variety of tea to choose from, and you can dictate how much you want, from a cup, to a huge pot. All the teas are loose leaf, so you really get the different flavour of each tea. I've discovered some personal favourites, thanks to this place. All of the cakes are homemade, and some cater to dietary requirements, so there is a gluten free option. The food is always lovely, and brilliant for lunch, or just spending a quiet time in a cafe. If you like the old, romantic cafe aesthetic, or you just want to try various teas, this beautiful little place is for you. Would recommend for young couples, students, and people who want somewhere to relax. PROS: Good food, brilliant tea range, good atmosphere, wonderful staff CONS: No coffee range, but as expected of a TEA house.
