Ordered a takeout dinner yesterday and I have to admit it was pretty good. I had the two chicken enchiladas with beans and rice. Everything was fresh and tasted good. Their homemade tortillas were the best I've ever had from any restaurant. Service was good for takeout and I love the look of the restaurant. I noticed they had several frozen drink machines so I'm sure it's a great place to get a frozen margarita. Ambiance nice and it was overall good food. Some of the best pollo loco we've had! Chicken was well seasoned with a smokey flavor. Only complaint is that it's a lot greasier than our favorite mexican restaurant at home. First time trying this restaurant after a desperate hankering for a taco salad. To get a sampling, I ordered Taco Salad, Pancho Villa Combo (burrito, chile relleno), Asada corn Street Tacos, Beef flour Tacos Americanos. I had a few bites of each, but nothing was appetizing. Bland, muted flavors through a layer of greasy lard. I'm not picky but this was almost like old Chinese takeout. I was running late and didn't have time to prepare dinner. I went online and ordered a burrito and a taco platter to go. The rice was cold, the beans were not good. The meat on the entrees was spiced with something I can't put my finger on, not to my liking although my companion said it was better than Taco Bell LOL. read more

Smelt good, was okay, I ordered grilled chicken nachos, which I expected to be just chicken cheese and queso as every Mexican restaurant I've ever ordered from has been just that. This one had beans in it and it took me a minute to realize it and immediately threw it away. (I'm picky and can't do beans) but I guess that's on me. The lady I picked up the order from was very nice. I also ordered a thing of queso, which added up to be $23 and from looking at prices online I thought it'd be more like $15. If you're not picky I'd recommend this place, it's just not my kind of place. I should add they gave me all the cold toppings which I just gave away and my uncle made a salad out of it. Mariachis Express Grill is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Navarre. I used to drive to the Gulf Breeze location, so I am thrilled to have one so close by. I have only been back to Navarre for two weeks and went to Mariachis twice! The food delicious and service great. read more

This place was great! We tried it because most of the 2 star reviews were for takeout. I had 3 enchiladas verde with rice and beans. I was impressed by the flavor of the steak on the enchilada's. My husband had a plate of steak, chicken, shrimp peppers and onions on a bed of rice, excellent also. They only serve beer and wine, FYI. I have only had their chicken fajitas, but they are always excellent and full of spice and flavor. I have had fajitas at multiple other Mexican restaurants in many states, and generally, they are always plain tasting and underwhelming, and the vegetables are steamed and not fried. BUT, the fajitas at Mariachis always has excellent seasoning and flavor. No bland, cafeteria food here. The vegetables are actually fried and you can see the burn marks from the pan searing. The vegetables are so caramelized and flavorful, I eat every single piece. Note: If you like nursing home food, then I would not recommend them because they are spicy. read more

This place is great!! I think it will be my families new go-to place when we're craving some mexican food. To start off, service was great, and the food was delicious!! I was really happy with their chips and salsa. Great flavor and a little bit of a kick... super good! I got their Texas Loco which was SOOOO delicious!! I did get a side of lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and guac to go with it which I'm sure just made it that much better!! My hubby got the shredded beef chimichanga and he was very happy! Portion size was great and prices seemed reasonable! Only complaint is they don't have margaritas. :( I know I'm sure this isn't their fault...probably something to do with not being able to obtain a liquor license. But hopefully in the future margaritas will be an option! *fingers crossed!* At least they do have the option to have a beer, which, will just have to do for now. Revisited Mariachis today and overall was not as impressed as the first time. The chicken tenders were disgusting (not sure they were even chicken). The cheese dip tasted milky and the service was slow and confusing. We sat down and got drinks quickly, however we had to wait probably fifteen-twenty minutes or so for the waitress to come back. Another waiter asked if we needed anything and we said we were ready to order and he said "oh your waitress can help you". Very disappointing as we were so impressed with our first visit two weeks ago. I would like to add that there is not a lot of seating but I do love their wall mural! read more

We ordered carry out dinner last night for 3 adults. One order of shrimp fajitas; one order of chicken fajitas and a chicken enchilada with side order of refried beans to share. This place literally has the best chicken street tacos that I have ever had in my entire life! I was married to a Mexican man and his mother and grandmother made homemade food and I lived in California for a while and I can definitely tell you I have never tasted a better chicken taco than what mariachis makes! If I could eat them every day, I would!
