The final product was absolutely perfect - I looked flawless and I didn't feel weighed down by tons of makeup (which was my biggest concern)! What's better is that I had an outdoor wedding on a day that turned out to be 95-103 degrees...and the makeup stayed on perfectly, and I felt comfortable for the whole day. I had to start cutting my hair off a couple inches at a time to get rid of the damage. I'm so upset over this, I mentioned how important my hair was to me and how I used good products to care for it, used little to no heat and yet this still happened. I don't know if it was Ashley's technique or if she used poor and low quality products. No amounts of treatments, leave in conditioners, masks or oils have helped. It took me a while to even find this page so I could write a review about it. She was very rough with my head. I was in constant pain throughout the whole process. For reference my hair was longer than mid back and is naturally straight and even she said it was super healthy. It had some color toward the ends from two years prior but she cut that color off with the trim she did. I'm so disappointed in the result, next time I'll make the two hour drive to my old stylist.

I just had my engagement makeup/hair done by Christina (Little White Book Stylists), and I'm SO…read moreglad I was able to find her!! We started the wedding planning process a bit late... (4 months to plan everything) so I was a bit nervous about finding a good hair/makeup artist for myself and the bridal party for our May wedding, since I've heard the good ones are booked anywhere from 6-10 months in advance. After contacting many, many hair and makeup artists from LA and Orange County and getting responses along the lines of "lulz no we're booked", I was panicking. That's when I received my e-mail from Christina :) She informed me that both she and her lead hairstylist (Mitzi) are available for our wedding date. I was beyond excited because her portfolio was one of the ones that stood out to me. I also inquired about having my engagement hair/makeup done with her, and she offered a $25 discount for the engagement session if I ended up booking my wedding with her (which I totally did.) We exchanged several e-mails in the brief 3-4 days before the engagement session, going over my preferences for hair/makeup. Day of: We scheduled the engagement hair/makeup session for a Friday morning. Overestimating traffic delays, I arrived at her studio about 15-20 minutes early, but Christina was already there. Another stylist (for my hair) arrived shortly after and we we were actually able to start earlier than our scheduled time. The hair/makeup session: I don't wear makeup, nor do I curl or style my hair (lazy :D). I honestly had no idea what to expect - I just told Christina that I wanted a very natural look in terms of makeup, but didn't even know what I wanted for myself since I'd never worn makeup before. But somehow, she was able to give me exactly what I wanted without me thinking it was "too much." Even the lip color she mixed for me perfectly amplified my natural lip color. The hairstylist also did a great job, giving me beautiful loose curls that stayed the entire day, despite me running through the park doing crazy stuff for the engagement photos :) Needless to say, I was impressed. I booked her for my wedding on the spot and I can't wait to see how Christina and her stylists transform my bridesmaids and myself for the wedding day :D

Not only was Christina able to replicate the stunning look, but she was able to adjust the look to work with my own facial features. She created a comfortable environment and took the time to explain every make up step. **Wedding Day: Christina and her assistants were able to complete 7 bridesmaids, 1 mother of the bride and myself on time for my early 1:30pm ceremony. I had a stressful morning and while working on my make up, Christina was able to sense it. She was constantly trying to cheer me up and make sure I was comfortable. Prior to the wedding I wasn't taking good care of my skin, but yet Christina was able to make my skin look flawless and glowing. While working on my make up Christina noticed my curls were becoming loose, although she wasn't my hired hairstylist, she was so sweet to worry about my hair and volunteered to retouch it. That's the type of artist Christina is kind, intuitive, and genuinely has the client's best interest at heart. Although I'm no longer a bride, I'll definitely be hiring Christina for every future events. I'm dying to have her create her stunning smokey eye look on me again! =)
