I saw that Rebekah specializes in brunettes, so I knew could trust her! Rebekah truly went above and beyond to talk me through what was best for my hair and thoroughly understand what I wanted. She was so patient and informative! I told her that I wanted to take out some of the brassiness from my hair and blend it more naturally. She recommended a toner for my hair which I had never done before but it turned out BEAUTIFULLY. Seriously, I could not have dreamt up a better result than what she provided! It took out the brassiness in my hair and made my color look like a richer brown without making it look black like the way that a dye would - which is hard to get right for brunettes! I've been searching for a keratin treatment for a while but couldn't find anyone local who I felt comfortable with. I was a little nervous trying someone new, but Rebekah was fantastic -- I feel so lucky! She was very pleasant to speak with, handled my hair gently and professionally, and took her time. She was also friendly and made the experience comfortable. For some reason, my hair responds better to keratin than to Brazilian. Anyone who has ever searched for "their" stylist knows how rare it is to find someone you completely trust, and I absolutely hit the jackpot. Tristin has been with me through years of big hair changes. She took me from blonde to brunette during pregnancy, and then directly to platinum card blonde, and she is truly the BLONDE QUEEN. I have spent my whole life chasing the perfect icy blonde and never achieved it until her. No unwanted warmth, no weird patches, just flawless, consistent color for 5.5 years straight. I wear extensions too, which adds another layer of skill, and she handles color matching and blending perfectly every time. I just started transitioning back to brunette and even that first in-between appointment looked incredible, which says everything. Beyond her talent, Tristin is kind, funny, flexible, and makes five hour appointments feel easy. I had brain surgery a few weeks ago and wasn't allowed to wash/brush my hair until the incision healed enough. That coupled with laying in a hospital bed and then my own for about 3 weeks turned my hair into a matted mess. Only Salon Divina gave me a reasonable price of $75 to untangle, cut and style my hair out of about 7 salons I called. I told her I wanted a lot of length cut off because I just didn't have the energy to deal with long hair anymore, especially since I'm not done with hospital visits yet. Melissa saw me the same day and it only took her about an hour and a half to untangle it, maybe a bit longer. Then she gave me the best wash and scalp scrub I've ever had (it felt amazing), then she styled my hair. I think I was there for a total of 2 and a half hours which I was impressed with because I thought it would take way longer to fix the mess that was my hair. She was also nice enough not to make me feel bad for asking her to turn her music down while I was there because my head has been so sensitive since the surgery. Solid salon! After seeing my friends pretty highlights, she referred me to this salon and recommended Divina. I finally visited this place for the first time last year (I was 4 months postpartum and needed a change) and I decided on getting highlights from Divina herself. If I had all the money in the world to gift someone flowers, it would be for Kate. She is amazing! Stopped by yesterday (6/25) for a haircut appointment with Kate. This was my first time in years going to a different stylist. I was nervous at first but after reading reviews about Kate's work, I had confidence that she was going to do a great job. To give a little context, I have very thick and wavy hair. I wanted to chop it off since it was getting too hot and my layers were grown out. I consulted with Kate about what my previous cuts used to look like, what I wanted, and how to find a style that fits best for my round and chubby face. I've been coming to this salon for a few years now to just get a haircut every now and then. It's been a great place to consistently get a great cut no matter the stylist but recently I decided to go the coloring route and had the honor of having Melissa bless my hair lol it's been years since I dyed my hair any color and really wanted a good change that wouldn't need an insane amount of upkeep. I thought I would need to bleach my hair in order to get the color payoff I was looking for but after my consultation with Melissa, she assured me that my natural color was light enough on its own to get the look I wanted! She not only saved me money but the integrity of my hair which was a big concern of mine. OK, so this place is a teaching salon. I decided to check out a new place since my stylist was out of town and wanted to get my highlights done with a specific look. I shared a photo of what I wanted and usually other salons understood what I was going for and would make my dreams come true! Sadly, I walked away from this salon traumatized with the underwhelming, depressing results from Jenna who did partial highlights on me. Jenna did not communicate much with me and when I showed her what I wanted, she proceeded doing the partial highlights on me. I was wondering if she was doing something different because I specifically said, I want to cover the "grays." She never touched the natural part of some of my hair and I didn't if she was going to do something with the toner or whatnot. I spent 3.5 hours at this salon and they had a hard time bleaching my hair - likely because she used the cheaper bleach (Wella) that schools usually use and not the ones that my stylist typically uses (Redken). I did tell them that I've used this special shampoo dye which washes away two weeks later, so that should have been an indicator if they could do something with my hair, but nothing was said about any issues and Jenna proceeded to just move along. So when she did the "unveil" of my hair.. I literally was like.. ummm did anything happen to my hair? It was awful and she was quiet about it too. I knew something was not right. Divina offered to "redo" my hair and initially I was willing to do it but I decided to not move forward because stepping in that salon was giving me anxiety. Thank goodness my stylist is back in town now and will help me recover from the trauma. As a working mom who was trying to do some self care and do something for herself, I couldn't believe how much time I spent at the salon with such a disappointing result. I would caution having Jenna do your hair unless you're willing to go with someone who is inexperienced. I was willing to try something who I knew didn't have the same personality or knowledge as the professionals I usually go to, but go with her at your risk. You know how people are loyal to their hairdressers? I could never relate until I found Kate!!!!!! I discovered her through my cousin who recommended me to get my hair done from her, and she did my hair for the first time in February 2023 to go from platinum to brunette. It was a tedious 12 hours, but the time flew by and I really enjoyed Kate's company. Since then, she is ALWAYSS my go-to and I see her every 6 months now. I live pretty far, but it's definitely worth the 1 hour drive :) Kate is so sweet, patient, and really easy to talk to; which is what you need in a hairdresser, especially if you're spending long hours together during sessions. Also, technical-wise, I am confident that that she knows what she's doing which allows me to trust her best judgement and suggestions on my hair. I definitely recommend Kate. One of my best friends started going to her as well. She is tooooo good and it would be selfish of me to keep her a secret hahaha. Genuinely can't see myself switching hairdressers Even when I'm 65 and retired I'll still be her client!!!
