The vintage cars caught our eyes as we walked out of Cassanto restaurant next door (which is also fabulous). A friendly gentleman who worked at Mama Mama invited us in. Their hospitality made us want to stay. This picturesque establishment is located close to La Playita, one of the areas only swimmable beaches, and on the north side of the San Jose del Cabo Marina, which is the largest in Mexico.
When we went to Mama Mama, it was a soft opening, with the Grand Opening being December 31st, which seems to me to be a great time to have such a celebration. The décor is quite captivating. A 1954 Corvette Convertible, a '38 Ford Pickup, a vintage Camaro, and an ancient VW Bug, among others. It makes for quite an interesting time examining such classic cars and trucks.
Everyone there made us feel at home, which was much appreciated. Since we had just eaten, I restricted myself to a couple of Dos Equis. A food menu is in the works, but there were steak tacos available. The music was very cool, with a nice mix of Willie Nelson up to Pet Shop Boys and beyond. I wish I could be there for the Grand Opening. This is a great place to relax after a swim on the beach. read more
