The raw oysters and grilled oysters were tasty. Lobster rolls too much butter and salt. The grilled octopus was tender, but way too salty. Don't get the Alaskan king crab, it was diced up with apples and drowning in sauce, couldn't taste the flavor of the crab and couldn't tell if it was actual real crab. Service was good. Had a table near the beach access, lots of people took pictures right in front of our table, so our view and meal was interrupted a lot. Service charge included. Our lunch came out to $300 USD. It didn't take long to grow sweet on the amazing cuisine, ambiance, and service at Bar Sur. During my short business trip in Cabo, I found myself.in Bar Sur every day!! The cariñoso and attentive Alejandro, Miguel, and Juanio treated me like a queen from the moment I set foot, but over the course of several days, they were able to provide even more recommendations for a good time in and around Cabo. Maracyúya margarita is a must-have. Aguachile negro was fantastic. I also tried a bunch of their other food offerings once I established bar Sur as my home away from home. The No-Cesar salad was crispy, flavorful, unique, and fresh. The Sushi was mostly freshly caught local offerings (minus the salmon, which was still good quality) with a bright sunny presentation and freshly made to perfection. The burger and fries hit the spot on day 2 when I was feeling some type of way. The poke bowl hit the spot, once again featuring locallly caught fish and very yummy combo of veggies, rice, and fruits with a ponzu sauce on the side. Came here with the girls for brunch on a Saturday morning with a reservation. The beach club vibe was on point with great music playing the entire time we were there. The service was great everyone was very attentive to us. Food and drinks: For drinks I ordered a latte, carrot and orange juice and bottled water. Nothing special but very good. I also ordered the green sauce ChillaQuiles with scrambled eggs and a side of refried beans with cheese. Since I had been craving something like this this hit the spot and I was going over lol Everyone I was with really enjoyed their dishes and drinks. 4 stars- I rate this amazing restaurant as such because to obtain a 5 (in my opinion means perfection. They were close! My wife and I arrived in Cabo 12/1, we made it to SUR shortly thereafter. We were excited with anticipation to find out that on Thursdays, they serve Paella. We waited all week, when Thursday came...the Paellla was cancelled! Things like this happen. How could they have bounced back? By doing something to compensate (they did, I'll get to that). The drinks, the food and the setting all amazing. We had: 1- Enchilladas verde with eggs. Spectacular. 2- Bloody Mary, margarita, and more (I forgot!). All good. My only complaint is that the alcohol in Mexico was noticeably weaker than back home (LA). 3- Wine (chardonnay) bottle service. Good. 4- Nachos. Amazing. 5- Sushi (Tiger roll). Very good! 6- Caesar salad. It had a unique flare. It wasn't amazing but not bad at all! All of the above was $170 USD. The service was top notch. Antonio was very helpful, polite and personable. We sat out on the beach in shade (umbrella). Walking vendors can not pass a nearby rope so although they are present they are not overbearing. This place is a must visit. I hope that next time I'm in Cabo, on a Thursday, they have the Paella. read more

I had a really wonderful experience at Bar Sur. I had the most delicious shrimp in cream sauce with pasta. I also had grapefruit with vodka and it was also really tasty. The prices were much more reasonable than my hotel next-door, Me Cabo. However, I did get a virus after eating here. Within a couple of hours I had an upset stomach and as a result I had to extend my trip a full day so that I could recover before traveling to the airport. So I can't recommend the restaurant. But the service was unbelievable, the experience is really wonderful, they gave me time to enjoy my drink without rushing me. Overall, it was a great experience while I was there. But I'm still sick now that I'm home and if I had to do over of course I wouldn't go. read more

Stunning view of the cove right on the beach. The wait staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Now, let's talk about the brunch food...outstanding. The menu has classics like eggs benedict, but also boasted local fare like chilaquiles and machaca. Everything we ordered was presented beautifully and tasted phenomenal. Portions are very filling and the fresh juices were amazing. The prices were extremely fair and worth every penny. We found they were half the price of getting breakfast at our resort, so we were thrilled. 10/10 for Bar Sur. We will definitely be repeat customers. read more

This beach club has been open for 3 months, but you'd never be able to tell because they really have everything dialed already. The food is incredible as well as the service & of course the view is incredible right on the beach of the arch. Came here for breakfast and it was a bit chilly, our server offered us cozy ponchos to keep warm, how sweet! They served the milk with our coffee warm & gave us some toast with homemade pineapple and strawberry jam. My chilaquiles were the best I've ever had, with fresh cheese & cilantro & tons of shredded chicken. I will definitely be coming back here on my next trip to Cabo! read more

What a great spot to eat and relax on Playa El Medano. We stayed at the ME Cabo so this was not apart of our hotel, but was right next door on the sand. We hit the more popular beach spots, but this place was surprisingly not that busy, very classy, excellently priced, and delicious. Spectacular way to spend the day at the beach in #cabo Yes, it's kinda fancy - but If ur not into the tequila shooting style bar a few doors down, the food, service and chair massages will win you over at Sur. I'm a foodie so this is right up my alley - the tuna serranito, octopus and Baja style fish tacos - so good. The tuna chicharon was scrumptious. The fresh green juice was refreshing but the palomito (grapefruit margarita) took the cake-- that and the 80s and 90s old school tech tunes. The Cure is on right now and I'm having a ball. I heart this place. I'm more of a quiet beach gal but Sur's grub and ambiance makes me want to hang on Medano beach more. If ur a lover of El Ganzo in San Jose, you'll love it here. Beautiful beach front location. We were a party of 6 adults and 3 kids. Predominantly Seafood menu but all excellent. Kids menu had the basics which kept our kids satisfied. We were there 6pm December 26th so it was a little chilly and slightly windy. We stayed at Casa Dorada and our last night we just wanted a nice low key dinner. It was a very short walk over between The Sand Bar and Me Cabo. The decor and ambience were really nice and contemporary. They had a guy playing guitar singing and he was pretty good. Down below they had seating set up for a bonfire so it seemed like a nice place to enjoy drinks with live music but still mellow. We were tired so didn't order drinks but I imagine it would've been a nice place to go during the daytime too. My husband had the burger he said it was excellent. I had the organic chicken with the mashed potatoes it was also very good. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Fantastic first experience for a group of 12 today at Sur. We started w/ paddle boarding at 8:00, which was kicked off with instruction for each boarder. Afterwards we had a very-well prepared breakfast, which tasted great. Based on our experience up to that point, we decided to just post up in their chairs & umbrellas within their roped-off area, which kept the vendors at bay. Great for breakfast or lunch but dinner needs a lot of work. We had dinner tonight it was quite cool and no heaters or serapes were offered. The food was served cold on cold plates. The salmon was very good and the fruit de Mara was terrible. The appetizers were pretty good. The calamari was good but very small portion. The ceviche was fair but also very little fish and small portion. The prices are moderate to high. As poor as the dinner was the breakfast is probably the best on Medano beach. The quality is great and the prices very fair. I've tried most everything on the menu and everything is good. Even the coffee is good which is unusual for Mexico. I highly recommend Sur for breakfast or lunch but it has a long way to go to deserve a dinner recommendation. read more
