The service was not great for being middle of week and early in the day. There were plenty of staff, but who knows what they were doing. The food came out cold and they overcharged us and we had to wait for an English speaking manager to come and fix the problem. I know that we're visitors but this is a well known establishment that has tourists visiting all the time, which was part of the reason why we visited the restaurant. But, we were seated pretty quick, but it still took approximately 20 minutes to take our drink order. Which were just a couple of buckets of beer. It took another 20 minutes for the server to take our food order. It then took another 30 minutes for the cold tacos to arrive. Like I said, plenty of staff holding up the wall and walking around and also plenty of empty tables. But then they over charged us and we had to wait another 30 minutes for an English speaking manager to show up to fix the issue, even though we had fluent Spanish speakers in our group. You know that I don't particularly like leaving a bad review but I don't care if it's in a different country or not. Bad service and bad food are universal issues. The place is located in the heart of the walking area in the marina and they were always busy whenever we walked by in the past. Maybe we picked a bad day. read more

Great seafood restaurant on the Marina. It's big with lots of seating, but it gets crowded really quickly! Service was friendly and fast. Their guacamole was amazing! They make it for you right in front of your table, and it was delicious! We ordered the enchiladas, dynamite shrimp, and fish tacos. Food was good, but it wasn't the best I've had, especially for Mexico. Dynamite shrimp was really spicy, so be careful if you can't eat spicy like me. Their flavored margaritas were delicious too. Recommended by the bookie on our cruise since we were looking for good ceviche, and this was the closest solid spot he suggested. The ambiance was great, with a live band playing while we dined. Last night in Cabo and didn't want to walk or cab anywhere so we did the easy thing and came here. So glad we did. We've eaten here before and food was delicious. I had the grilled fish ( Sea Bass today) tacos and the my wife had fish and chips. The place was packed but we got a table along the side rail to the right as you walk in. Everything was fine except the horse flies attacked us during our meal. We spent most of the time swatting at them instead of enjoying our food and drinks. It's a good place to go but don't get stuck along that rail. read more

Cabo I was looking desperately for a God honest good breakfast of Chilaquiles. This place did not disappoint? I had Chilaquiles Divordiados.. which means they have green and red salsa. I also added my chicken for protein. It was good with the chicken but in retrospect I would have ordered them with eggs instead of the chicken, just because I didn't care for the chicken already being prepared with onion & peppers By the way, they do have an expensive menu or just an option and drinks. it's located in the marina. You can park in the hotel that is next by the marina. On top of that, they had a three man music group there who literally were so bad and off key it made it uncomfortable to be there. Is this place touristy? Yes, most definitely, as are most places along the Marina. There's a bar in the middle of the restaurant, and the live music was just ending as we walked in. The food came rather quickly, I don't remember what type of fish I ordered, and I ordered the toppings on the side just to make sure cause they mix everything together. aye, aye, Captain!! Admittedly, we did not leave the touristy marina area to explore other parts of town. We should have been adventurous, yet I think we left our "courage" and navigation abilities on the ship. I think our lack of ability to speak Spanish had something to do this uninformed decision. And so, thanks to recommendation by some YouTubers (the channel is called Bill and Lisa's Food and Travel), we found ourselves at Captain Tony's. NOTES 1. We were on a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise, and didn't really have much time to explore......even if we had the courage to do so. 2. They accept cash (US dollar$ accepted!). 3. The restaurant is located deeper into the tourist parts of the marina. I felt it was about a 10-15 minute walk from where the tender dropped us off. 4. Seating in the restaurant is at tables or the bar. There is no A/C......except in the restrooms! We checked in with the host, and waited about 10 minutes before being seated at a table on their lanai area overlooking the marina. After perusing the menu we decided to share (we were also quite hungry) the guacamole (prepared tableside), ceviche, fajitas, and street tacos. A round of margaritas completed our meal. The tableside preparation of the guacamole was done carefully and efficiently by another server. Based on the showmanship, it was evident he has perfected his skills on guacamole prep. Well done. Aside from the fresh guacamole, I really enjoyed the tacos and my margarita. The meal honorable mention is awarded to the ceviche. I was fortunate that my friend wasn't too fond of this dish and I finished most of it. The fajitas were just ok. They were our last favorite dish of the entire meal. SERVICE Very friendly and attentive. Our main server was a hard-working young man who was quite patient while narrowed down our choices. He expertly answered all our questions and checked on us regularly throughout the meal. side NOTE We were concerned we brought too much pesos with us to Mexico, and that we might not be able to spend it all. We actually spent ALL of our pesos ($100 equivalent) on the meal including the tip. BOTTOM LINE Yes, I'd probably agree with most that Captain Tony's is a tourist trap. But, its convenient location and decent food and drink make it a satisfactory dining choice. read more

I flew into Cabo for Thanksgiving weekend, and this restaurant was conveniently located on the marina. The place was PACKED, and the ambiance was lively with music from live players and the chatter of guests. The musicians will play a song for you if you ask, but be ready to tip them afterward :) The service was lovely! There were three people tending to me although I was dining along. I started with the Caesar Salad, which was prepared from scratch table-side. It was nice watching the process, however I do believe it attracted flies. I could not get the flies off of my food the whole time I dined. The salad tasted good otherwise. I followed up with shrimp tacos for my entree. They were delicious. The tacos and quesadillas were all very plain and unseasoned, but I heard that's the "AUTHENTIC" way in MX. The chicken wings were cold & the drinks were not strong at all, tasted like watered down smoothie. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this spot. Captain tonys has a big menu with lots of different entrees to choose from. We decided to stick with seafood and it was delicious. Captain Tony's is a pretty solid bet as a general statement. Very good food, drinks are not that pricey. Just one item of note. If you take freshly caught fish to them to be cooked; they take 50% of more of it. It's extremely irritating to be lied to, especially when we tip rather well. Went with our boat guys one time and after handing over the same amount of dorado, we received roughly 3 times as much re: sashimi, cooked fish, etc. Our boat guys told us that of course the restaurants short-change tourists on the fish.
