I'll admit it, I'm a serial quitter when it comes to working out... But I've been going to Rupa's…read moreclasses for six months now, and I'm hooked! Both her Zumba and Bengra classes are high-energy, non-judgmental, and mostly--a lot of fun. I always walk out of them feeling mentally and physically better than I came in! And afterward the foggy windows tell the tale of how much energy the class required... Others have talked about the Sunday Zumba class, but my favorite is the Bhangra class on Wednesday: step by step, Rupa builds up a little routine that you then dance to a few different songs. This gives you a pleasurable feeling of "mastering" something by the end of class (well, after a couple classes!), and a chance to explore these moves in different rhythms. Finally, I like that this style of dancing has a lot of arm moves, so you don't only work out your core and legs, but also your arms and shoulders...

Flash forward and I am totally hooked! Sundays without Zumba just make my whole week feel "off." The instructor, Rupa, is enthusiastic, welcoming, and supportive. Her goal is to get you moving, sweating and having fun. The best part? The music and Rupa herself. The mix of Latin, Bollywood, and Banghra makes the class stand out from most Zumba classes I have been to, with awesome beats and moves that work your whole body head to toe. Rupa is amazing to watch, and when she's really into a new song that she LOVES, her energy is so contagious that you can't help but join in. While it's not the most hard core Zumba I've seen or heard about, I definitely recommend going at least twice. The first class, the moves might seem complicated or awkward, especially if you're used to traditional Latin dances. But that definitely disappears by the 2nd and 3rd class. Consider it a great healthy way to spend an hour on a Sunday afternoon!

The theatre recently became part of the Spectacle Live family, which also manages the Jane Pickens Theatre in Newport, and several other performance venues across New England. We were here for Sean Healey's Celtic Christmas show earlier this week, and it was a great experience. We arrived for the 7:30 show at about 7:10 and went very quickly through the security line and the ticket checkers. AS the Brown University shooter was still at large, it was comforting to see an increased police presence at the show - The theatre is in a "good" neighborhood with no reason for extra security, but given the recent events it was great to see they were taking their patrons' safety seriously. The seats in the theatre are very comfortable and even have cup holders. It's a small to medium sized venue and there's not a bad seat in the house! It is connected to a lounge/bar, so there are plenty of drinks available that youc an take in to the concert area. Bathrooms are plentiful, and are on the same level as the seating area, and there is a large paring lot across the street behind Cranston City Hall that is free for concert goers to use in the evenings. Rolfe Square is in walking distance, with many dinner choices nearby. If you haven't been to the Park before, definitely check it out! It's a quality theatre with a great lineup of events!

He should have evicted them, it was not handled at all. We asked to speak to someone and he just left us in those (not our seats). It ruined our night so far. When it was finally addressed during intermission the squatters stated they knew the were in seats they did not pay for that did not belong to them for this performance. They reluctantly exited our seats but kept Stating they could sit wherever they wanted to. No, seats are selected and paid for it is not open seating. Their rudeness and nasty comments that staff overheard but again staff did nothing at all. Basically the park theater isn't a place we'd like to visit again due to this really negative experience, we don't recommend it. The staff then allowed the squatters to continue to heckle us. Honestly those (squatters) people should have been escorted out and the Park theater manager should have compensated us-tickets to a future event or such. This was not handled well at all.
