From the very first night, it was clear she cared deeply, not just about our baby, but about our entire family. I can't thank Margo enough for her help as a night doula and sleep trainer. My son had very dysregulated sleep at 6 months old, often waking up every 20-30 minutes after 2 am. She rescued us from several months of severe sleep deprivation. I was hesitant to do sleep training, but she created an approach that worked for us. She has an extremely intuitive sense of what different babies need and she tweaked our approach (how we went in to soothe, and how often) as we went, based on my baby's reaction. She also gave us a very clear plan and next steps to take on our own. By the second night, my baby slept soundly and only woke up once. Also: Before we did the sleep training, she supported us as a night doula while my son was going through some GI challenges. I thought he would react negatively to a night doula at his age and with his tummy issues, but he was completely calm and soothed by Margo's presence. She also helped me up my milk supply. Margo was our night doula and lactation consultant, and we came back to her for sleep training too! TLDR - she's great! She was with our newborn right after we were discharged from the hospital, extremely caring and tender, super helpful to me as a first-time mom, and taught us everything about the baby, so we were confident that we had it covered. Her help was integral in upping my milk supply; she would help me with breast massages at night pumps, create schedules and suggestions on how to further increase it, and, needless to say, I developed an incredible milk supply that could feed two (!) babies (no joke, as my milk stash is huge). When we hit the four-month regression, we came back to her for advice on sleep training. She guided us through daytime schedule changes, and our baby started sleeping and increasing sleep time right away. Margo is a Force of Nature who we were blessed to have help us for the first two months after our twins were born. She was the backup postpartum doula after our twins came early but was so wonderful we stuck with her for the remainder. She walked into a chaotic situation and created order. She is direct, kind, good humored, inventive and unflappable, which is the absolute best combination of qualities one can imagine having on your side when there are premie twins and anxious parents afoot. I never had any night support with my first two babies but when I got pregnant with #3, I started to think about getting some help during the nights so that I could be more present with my other young kids and actually enjoy the early postpartum time with myself and my little one. After going back and forth about what to do and interviewing various people, I decided on Margo. We hired her for 4 nights/week for the first 6 weeks and then 3 nights/week for the following 4 weeks for a total of ten weeks. Even in my last weeks of pregnancy I doubted my decision to move forward with a night double. Wow, was I wrong!! Margo was the single most incredible thing I've done for myself and our family since our daughter was born. Even with an "easy" baby and a straightforward birth, she is worth every penny and then some. I would recommend her 1000%. She has transformed the haze of the early postpartum experience into such a beautiful and special time for our family and I'm so thankful for her. In the early days, she offered hands on lactation support with breastfeeding, helping me with my latch and feeding journey. After the first few weeks I decided I wanted to sleep as much as possible so I would pump 1-2x 10-15 mins per night the nights that she was here. We would wait anxiously for her arrival on the nights she would come. Because of her my mental and physical recovery was so much easier and I warded off any postpartum depression (which I had with my second). I felt well rested even in the earliest days. Margo is a wonderful person and is a joy to have in our home. I couldn't say enough great things about her and would be happy to chat with anyone who is on the fence. Margo worked with us when my daughter was born November 2018. I was hesitant about spending the money for a postpartum doula before I knew what I would really need. Margo was an absolute godsend in the intense few weeks after we had our baby. As sleep deprived and stressed new parents, it made a huge difference having her around to help us as we learned how to care for our baby. Margo is an amazing resource for newborns and new parents. She has been helping us adjust to life with our newborn and her support has been invaluable. She is a postpartum doula, meaning she helps with breastfeeding, self care for mom, care for baby, and provides all kinds of articles and resources - both to help with struggles and to keep us all ahead of the baby's next phase (developments to be aware of, activities to try, feeding and sleeping stages, etc.) For us, she started right after we got back from the hospital and provided day support. A friend recommended her and we've been so happy. We also can rely on her time for other things like dishes, laundry and and a chance to get a break and time to myself - for a walk or a nap! :) She sometimes takes the baby out for walks, too - she loves her! I can't imagine how we would have managed without Margo's help with my son Luke (2 weeks old). I was exhausted and deeply missed spending time with Sofia (my 2 year-old). AND, Luke was so different. Unlike our doula, who helped us prepare for birth, Margo focuses on the postpartum, making sure that both baby and mum are off to a good start as they get to know each other. In those first weeks, Margo provided invaluable emotional and practical support, coaching me in breastfeeding techniques that worked best for me and the baby, showing how to soothe our daughter and/or taking care of her so we could get some much needed rest. Margo was recommended to me as a night doula and it was absolutely wonderful to have her support in the weeks right after we came home with the baby. Not only was her advice on baby super useful, she also utilized her training as a lactation consultant and tirelessly helped me with my lactation challenges by suggesting latch types, positions, massage and pump techniques and offering encouragement and support every night in-person and on the phone when she wasn't around. She absolutely adores our little girl and was always looking out for her from changing positions to avoid flat spots to giving me advice and hints on correcting her slight head tilt preference. It was so good to have her support us for our sanity so I could get some sleep in between feedings, and she also took care of baby laundry and cleaning bottles. She gave me a great list of things to get that made our lives so much easier particularly as first time parents it was invaluable having her around.
