He had a turkey club and I had a turkey avocado sandwich on multigrain. For sides we had cucumber salad, potato salad, and mac & cheese. A word of surprise, the potato salad is served warm, but it was really tasty. The only disappointment was the mac & cheese, which was grainy and soup-like with very overcooked noodles in it. They had no discernible shape and almost seemed like egg noodles oddly enough. We enjoyed our drinks, sandwiches and salads very much.

Such a cute, cozy place. It was like stepping into a warm cafe in another land…read more I started with a seasonal latte that had hints of toasted marshmallows, cinnamon, and pumpkin. Followed by a Monte Cristo. The bread was so light and fluffy. The saltiness of the meat with the sweetness of the bread and sugar with a little spread of raspberry preserves delighted the tastebuds. The side of fruit was large and seasonally appropriate. You order at the counter, where I think the owner was taking the orders and the accent definitely sounded authentic German like the name of the restaurant. She was lovely. Everything is made fresh so sit back and relax and the dining area is designed perfect for that with couches, cozy chairs and comfortable seats at the tables. I looked up what the name means: "Drachenfutter" is also a term used to describe gifts or treats that someone might bring home for their significant other when they feel guilty about coming home late or drunk. True to the "gift" part of the name, you can take yummy homemade treats home with you and they do have a section of gifts you can buy. A nice gem of a place along Historic Route 66.

This trip we had friends with us and it was a busy early Saturday afternoon. Megan was delightful and and energetic server. Her smile added to the experience My very large western omelette was big enough to 2 meals and the fried potatoes are an excellent choice. Again they Bailey wife's eggs with whites cooked and yolks runny. The monte cristo our friend ordered was super done including the jam. I saved half my omelette so I could have a piece of the peanut butter pie, which we all shared, bathroom was clean and even though the place was hoping, Megan kept our coffee cups full Oh and really try the sausage made right there

Kind people. Great Food!…read more This store is a total gem in Rolla, especially if you love to cook really good food, but also if you want some ready to eat food, candies and snacks. I didn't know some of the food on the grocery shelves, but had a lot of help from such a friendly person who worked there picking out the best stuff, and even gave me tips on how to use it. I'm really excited about the jar of honey and nuts that I bought for a gift! I have a lot of allergies and I was able to find some hard to find things that I can have like gee and date syrup so that my diet can still be enjoyable. They also have some midwestern staples like canned sardines and tuna. The fresh meat looks like something to make to impress guests and have a happy and full crowd. Yes, I love everyone in my life through food and am known for the best dinner parties. The rice selection is insane. If you have not had good rice your probably missing out on your best life. They sell huge bags so you can get really special rice without paying a lot for what you are getting. P.S. They have Turkish coffee too!!!

It is a bit of a drive from the highway, but such a beautiful spot to pull into. The whole drive away and parking lot is white gravel rocks (they will leave footprints in your car!!) so I like to think it helps keep the heat down. There's a lake across the farm, and plenty of seating in and outside. We just did a pit stop here, but I loved what I saw. All their good are made with and from lavender with a few house goods and decor. If you're looking for their cafe section, just walk toward to the left hallway and pick up a menu. I think their wall menu is more aesthetic because the have a whole printed menu for coffee and food. Service here is pretty friendly and quick! I just ordered a vanilla lavender latte and a lavender lemonade for my husband. We liked our drinks and it was nice to taste real lavender. I would love to visit again once the weather is cooler and we have time to walk around!

My husband and I came up for Garlic Fest and walked around town. We found this not-so-hidden gem…read moreand had to go in because of the biscuits and gravy signage outside. This is my husband's favorite breakfast. The biscuits and sausage gravy were amazing, in my husband's expert opinion. ( having consumed this dish almost everywhere) I had 'just avocado toast' (their no egg version) and it was very good. I suspect the bread was freshly baked and not from a commercial bakery. Now let's talk about the important thing. The coffee. They have a coffee, hot or iced called the 'Sweet Bourbon Brew'. I figured I was unlikely to get freshly roasted coffee with bourbon syrup from the nearby distillery anywhere else and went for it. It is AMAZING. I would come back just for this. Now, the restaurant itself. Live music on a Saturday morning. Kitschy, eclectic decor that was obviously quite intentional, and a DOLLY PARTON CORNER that has obviously existed for quite some time. Their motto appears to be a Dolly Parton quote. "If you see someone without a smile give them one of yours". Yes. It's that kind of place. They also seem to be attempting to control their carbon footprint.

It's the kind of place you instantly know you'll want to return to. This was our first time here and we were go glad we made the little trip down to Bourbon, MO! We ordered the bacon and egg panini, and it was cooked perfectly. Whatever homemade seasoned butter they use deserves special recognition--it added so much flavor and made an already great sandwich even better. Of course, the dessert case was impossible to ignore. Everything looked incredible, and choosing was no easy task. We finally settled on a pecan brownie and a sea-salt chocolate chip gooey butter cake slice. Both were fantastic, but the gooey butter cake completely stole the show. Hands-down, it was the absolute best gooey butter cake I have ever had--and I've tried many from plenty of bakers over the years. This single slice may have changed my outlook on life. They've set the bar so high that I honestly don't know how anyone else could top it. Warmed up just as the owner suggested, it was melt-in-your-mouth perfection with a tender, flaky crust and incredible flavor. Absolutely phenomenal. We will definitely be back again--and you should go too!
