Great local place. Nice simple food for decently low prices. Definitely has the charming small town feel.

Super Geeks, activate! If the Simpsons came out today, rather than the comic book guy, they might…read moreinstead have the Internet cafe guy, and they could easily communicate the same humor if it were to look exactly like Vernon's Down Town Internet Lounge. This place is full of geek collectibles, from vintage Star Wars paraphernalia to Minecraft and Minions. They offer both food groups, Junk & Fast, including a $5 combo of 2 pizza pops, a can of pop and a bag of chips. Yes, I did have the combo, and I felt like I was eight years old again. Oh, and sorry for not photo-documenting the cuisine. Televisions quietly beam cartoon network around the store, however most patrons are glued to their screens playing Warcraft or Call of Duty or whatever. There's also a sofa with a big screen TV and an assortment of consoles if that's your preference. There were alongside me a handful of thirtyish guys playing pc games who may or may not have worked and /or lived at the store, as well as a parade of young kids, I'd say 13 & under, who came in and out to play and who looked at the grown ups who got to play video games all day as Gods. It was all really very cute, as were the looks on the faces of the parents who walked into this Nerd Mecca to collect their young children after hours in the store. I was just looking for a place to download some movies amidst my travels, but I found so much more. I'm glad for places like this; they really make a neighborhood more colourful. If you're passing through and looking for Internet, if certainly recommend stopping in. Besides, those geek computers were really quite zippy!

My kids love coming to the Internet Lounge. Its great on a rainy day when all I hear is "mom, can…read morewe do something" and gives me a chance to go run errands while they are there (my kids are older btw). One of the employees, Mike, is always friendly. I held a birthday there one year and everyone enjoyed! My youngest has wanted to join their all-nighter events but I am not at that point yet!!!! Whatever the case, the Internet Lounge is a great place, reasonably priced, and good for an afternoon!

OVERALL: 7.9/10 (Yelp Converted Score: 4/5). My partner and I were passing through, and wanted to…read morestop for coffee. It was a decent experience - they did forget that I ordered a breakfast sandwich until I politely reminded them about 15 minutes after they gave us our last item (steamed oat espresso latte). Verdict: I'd come back if I lived in the area, or was passing through again, but it's not a place I'd outright go out of my way to get to. 1) VARIETY/SELECTION: 8.5/10. It has a decent selection for being such a small hole-in-the-wall (relatively speaking). 2) FRESHNESS: 8/10. They have the materials to make things fresh, but a lot of the baked goods are technically "pre-baked" (they may have been made on the same day, but they're not "made to order". 3) VALUE FOR MONEY: 7.5/10. Overall not bad, kind of expensive (sandwiches were $10 and $12; lemonade was $4 for a small glass with tons of ice, iced coffee and latte were $6 each, almond croissant was around $5?), but not terrible for a small(ish) town like Vernon (remember, all prices in $CAD for a Canadian business!). 4) SERVICE: 7/10. There were two people working here the entire time I was there; one was constantly making drinks, the other was alternating between helping customers order and making the food. It was a busy morning, but the person who took my order forgot about the breakfast sandwich that I'd ordered until I politely reminded them (after it was already cold, sad days). 5) CONSISTENCY / FIRST IMPRESSION: 8.5/10. I'd definitely come back - and prefer it over the local Starbucks / Timmie's - because local businesses are fantastic if done right (and this place seems to have struck that balance). Parking in front, but not much! I'm happy to see a local coffee shop thriving - tons of folks came in and the place was always having someone order the full time I was there. NOTE: This place is also the same as "juice wall" - there's a "wall" of shelving near the door that's a ton of wine options - you have to get a coffee shop item to order stuff from there, but it seemed like a reasonable price when I was perusing (but not purchasing) the wine. My only regret is not taking a picture of the wall! The seating wasn't bad - there's maybe 5 tables of 2-3 inside, and a patio that lines the outside of the place - so it's not bad by any means.
