The pies were good, the crust was fabulous, but the prices were sky high. A small Stouffers sized pot pie with average flavor, but heavenly crust. We should have split one, just so we could say we had one and saved the price of the second pie. We didn't stop for one on our return trip, having been there and done that. We got late in the afternoon and not many pies by the slice were available, but the ones we had were just amazing: peach and lemon, with ice cream on the side. Next time will consider buying a whole pie to go. Not only pies, they have a good selection of sandwiches and drinks. Large seating area and lots of parking around. Sausage rolls are a treat! The cafe seating area is spacious, and there are a few bar seats along the window that allow you to watch street life. A friend recommended driving to Kamloops and diverting through Salmon Arm to hit The Shuswap Pie. Savoury and sweet pies There was a line out the door at 1pm. Fortunately it Moved quite quickly. It was busy enough to have sold out of some savoury pies. We had the chicken pot pie, chicken and leek pie and a slice of pecan pie with ice cream as well as a glass of house white wine and a pint of beer that was recommended (can't remember the name) We sat in and were brought our pies in 5 mins or so. Piping hot, the pies had big chunks of chicken. Flavourful and full of goodies! The pecan pie was awesome! Wine was good and the beer was dark and hoppy. Worth the drive, we may have to hit it up on the way back to Kelowna read more

Bah no more with this place. Last time Their veggie curry pie was soooo greasy it was not Edible. Went in for Breakfast - not much to Be had for a place That opens at 7:30. Muffin was standards and ok. Coffee was pretty bad. They don't carry jam in the store even though they have scones? Breakfast sandwich was $8.59 and could be had on a scone which is worth $3 or the thinnest pieces of grocery store multigrain toast I have ever seen. I had the toast as I did not know. After waiting 15 minutes a paper thin sandwich was Brought out with undercooked bacon, some kind of fluffy processed egg square and little cheese just melted to one side of the bread and then it had some kind of goopy chipotle sauce and raw onion??? What the heck kind of breakfast sandwich is that? Especially for the price. There's no other options for breakfast. And it came with some sour lemony coleslaw? It was pretty nasty. Travelling across country as a vegan can limit one's food options. Shuwap Pie Company was a great find! After we ordered, there was a line-up out the door (and not because we were slow at ordering). Yes, they have vegan pie slices - the vegan selections were cherry or bumbleberry (i think that's correct - or some kind of -umbleberry). We obviously had one of each and they were both delicious. I also had a Glory Bowl, which was a much needed kick of greens while on the road. For the quality of food you get, the price is reasonable. It's obviously not going to be as cheap at subway, but it's WAY better - and subway doesn't have sweet pies :) We sat and ate our meals and pie slices on their sidewalk patio - they also had lots of room inside but it was too nice out! We stopped for the playground in Salmon Arm, and while there a stranger recommended the Shuswap Pie Company. I thought, "I like pie. I'm up for trying it!" (Without even checking Yelp for reviews (: ) We ordered a Strawberry Rhubarb large pie, a chicken pot pie, a steak pie, and a chicken leek pie. First off, the crust is perfect! Lightly golden, flaky and buttery without being oily. Even the crust on the bottom was solid (not soggy like many grocery store pies) and enjoyable. The strawberry rhubarb filling was the perfect balance between sweet and tart with a rich fruit flavour. My hubby loved his chicken pot pie with its flavourful gravy, generous chicken, and variety of vegetables. I liked my chicken leek pie because it was exactly as promised - no sneaking other veggies in. The steak pie was a touch salty but that could be because it had cooled off by the time we ate it. When you walk in, you can see the kitchen immediately behind the serving counter. There's a moderate seating area to the right but we got our pies to go, so didn't use it. Nice big windows to see out onto the street while you're eating. There is a pie of the month for $10 and the rest of the large (9" or 10"?) pies are around $16. Individual pies are available either fresh and hot to eat now, or you can take home frozen pies (a few dollars off). Parking is easy to find, even though this restaurant is just off the main highway.
