I had to call to reschedule my follow up and again, it was no problem and I was able to get in a few days later. It was an extremely unpleasant way to begin my visit and I nearly left based on her snarky behavior. One star. Fortunately things improved. Tech Shawn was so thorough and kind. He put me at ease and warmed my heart with his gentle nature. He let me know why he was doing all the checks and what to expect next. 5 stars Upon seeing her, about 50 minutes after my initial entry and preliminary exams, Dr. Kurzon was insightful and recommended a medication for eyelid that is new and could make a huge difference for my eye health. She departed the room a bit abruptly and another tech came in to lay out the tools for Dr. Kurzon to perform an in office procedure on my eye. 5 stars. I then waited for the doctor to come back, about 15 minutes. She did the procedure, then let me know verbally what I'd need to do the rest of the day and for about a week, plus pickup prescription at the drugstore. I wish it had been given to me in writing, as I was pretty anxious at the time. 4 stars. Checkout was clipped and professional. 4 stars. TL/dr: Dr (and tech) quite competent, receptionist has terrible customer care behavior.

Its sometimes hard for doctors to put up with me and my questions. Dr. Shumski not only did great work, but was gracious about my questions and called me 3 times to answer questions. I also got several email answers. I received full documentation about the surgery and all questions/concerns were answered. His staff and associates were also wonderful. Dr. Sedwick has been my neuro-opthalmologist since 2014. She is a very well known and respected…read moredoctor among her peers and is involved in many academic and journal publications. That being said, she is not the bubbliest/warmest doctor there is, but she is extremely knowledgeable in her area of expertise. I am thankful, as she basically helped in saving my life, and I mean that in a literal way. Whenever she has been wrong, she admits it and when it is time to try something else or call someone else for help, she does. Her office runs like a well-oiled machine, thanks to the assistance of her office manager, Karen. The office per-se is really (like really) small, so they book only one patient at a time, and their work hours a bit odd (9am-2pm/Monday-Thursday). She only accepts patients after undergoing extensive study of your case and only if you've been referred by another specialist, meaning you will not be able to make an appointment just by calling her office. And even if you are cleared for an appointment by Karen, it will not be right away. They do take their time bringing you in. She specializes in severe eye problems which compromise your neurological functions, so she is not the doctor to call if you need a new prescriptions for eyeglasses, nor will she spend time giving you any referrals for such "trivial things". This was an iconvenience once, since I knew she did my eye exam and must have had my script, but whatever, I went to my local Lens Crafter. Anyway, if you ever have to go to a specialist, I hope you get someone that will care and treat you the same way I have been treated and cared for by Dr. Sedwick.

Frame boutique: I actually chose this practice specifically because they sell Silhouette frames, but they are extremely expensive, and somehow even a worse deal if you just need replacement lenses? I was told "our coatings are SO much better than you can get elsewhere". Ok I said, but less than 2 years after my lenses were replaced in August 2024, all the anti reflective coating was wearing off all around the rims of both lenses?! There is a 2 year warranty, but from the original date of purchase (not date of replacement, apparently). I think I'll be buying my glasses from Costco from now on for 1/4 the cost. My coatings have never worn off from anything I bought there (or that I bought 10 years ago in Miami for that matter). I do not have faith in the the lab WPEA uses.

Emily was also great! I booked my appointment completely online and the entire process from start to finish was positive and couldn't have been any easier. There was ample parking behind the building, and the waiting room is separate from the show room which made the process of selecting frames stress free.
