We went today to find out about guitar lessons and picking out a guitar for my daughter and he went above and beyond going over everything possible that we could need to know. He took so much time to make sure she had a guitar that she was comfortable with and fit her perfectly. Then, after we had gone through the whole purchase process, he spent even more time with us showing specifically how to tune the guitar and even caught that the neck was a little dry and moisturized it for us. He even told us that the first time we have a guitar string break, we can come right to him and he'll show us how to replace the strings. I felt like we were so, so taken care of by him and loved it. And as an extra bonus, he recognized my daughter's Attack on Titan hoodie, so he's got great taste in anime as well. String changes and guitar setups are often ready by the end of the day, and repairs are usually completed within a week or less. They take quality of inventory seriously so it's like finding a needle in a stack of needles... you don't have to waste your time sorting through a big warehouse inventory of hay. About a year ago, I was looking to trade in my guitar for something new. I visited two different Guitar Center locations, and both experiences were about the same: guitars were hanging too high to easily try, the strings were in terrible condition, and it was difficult to find anyone available who could meaningfully answer my questions. Kudzu was the complete opposite! The staff asked me thoughtful questions to help narrow down what I was actually looking for, let me try numerous guitars and amps, and even replaced several batteries for me along the way. I spent about two hours there, and knowledgeable help was readily available the entire time without ever feeling pushy. That experience completely sold me on Kudzu. It's got it all, knowledgeable people, quality gear, fair prices, excellent service, and staff who genuinely seem to care about helping you find what's right for you. Wish I could give more stars!

Half the time I couldn't even find anyone at the shop. The door was wide open, customers were looking for an employee and couldn't find one. When I returned and did find someone, the instrument was only partially there, missing the mouthpiece and other accessories. Worst of all, my receipt, which I still possess in my wallet, wasn't honored, and I wasn't compensated. I have returned three times over the past couple of years, and the shop owner Mike always puts me off and says he'll get an answer and call me, writing down my number like it's the first time on a piece of scratch paper among a sea of scattered papers on the counter. So, the instrument I played for six years in middle and high school is gone forever with nothing to show for it. And on top of that the Better Business Bureau basically says they cannot help me because the transaction happened more than a year ago. I'd prefer to never have a bad review to leave a place because I love sharing kindness and positivity and support for small businesses, but I've kept this one quiet long enough. I got taken advantage of by a business with no good intentions for me, and I fear other folks can suffer the same fate due to the disorganization of the music shop.
