The Bisanar Company - William and Henry

The Bisanar Company

This post is simply a warning to you all seeking future purchases with Bisanar Jewelers in Hickory…read moreNC. Cody purchased my engagement ring from them in June 2017 and gave me the ring July 2nd. I wore the ring 3 months and lost 5 diamonds on all 4 corners and one random on on the halo. We took the ring in and they wouldn't cover the loss of the diamonds. It didn't cost a fortune so we just went ahead and paid it to be fixed. The ring came back just like when Cody gave it to me. I wore the ring an additional 3 months and lost 3 more totaling 8 diamonds in 6 months. I am not hard on the ring at all I take really good care of my things. I never wear it outside or doing anything that will hurt the ring. I wore it daily to work (where I sit behind a desk all day and have a phone to my ear) and out to dinner. I took the ring back to have it repaired for the second time. The manager told me she would have a small wire placed that you wouldn't see around the halo to secure the diamonds. She told me it would alter the look of the ring but I would still see all the diamonds. I agreed because I didn't know what else to do to save my ring. She told me my ring had excessive wear, discoloring and scratches. I couldn't see any scratches or discoloration to my eyes but ok ‍ long story short they took the ring in on a Saturday for 2 weeks I called one week later to check on it and nothing has been done to it. The following week on a Tuesday feb 13 I get a call stating my ring will be done Wednesday. They called again saying the wrong metal came in for it and that it would be ready by the next day. I get a call from the girl Friday who sold the ring to Cody and she said how beautiful my ring was and she couldn't wait for me to see it. So Saturday I go to pick up the ring and the manager pulls it out and says I haven't even seen it and looks at it and said "oh how beautiful" I starred at the ring in complete shock and couldn't believe how hideous they made the ring. I told her while I was there that I didn't like it and the ring wasn't symmetrical and I was not happy. She told me to wear the the ring a few days to see if I liked it. I knew then and there I wouldn't like in an hour, half a day, sleep on it 2 days blah blah. So I came back Monday 2/19 to meet with the owner he wasn't there and wouldn't be until 230/3. So I worked with Lori trying to get a refund back, a new ring just like mine or a trade in. She was determining I wasn't getting a refund back but I could trade it in for a $2700 or more ring and get a credit of $650 for my ring. Or one that was $1596 that was similar to mine. That wasn't flying with me when they were the ones who ruined my ring. I asked her if the owner saw my ring and she said he did. I said he saw it just like this how it's messed up? she stated no and I left it with her to show him. I told her before I left that I wanted the owner to call me. During all of this time she was rude and nasty and slammed her hands down on the counter while I am being very nice and about in tears because they ruined a ring that I loved so much. Later today at 230 I got a text from her saying "Hey Brandi, it's Lori at Bisanars. He said we would do a difference of 650.00. You can also finance the difference for 12 months if that helps. Just Let me know. Thanks!" I responded please have the owner call me. Never heard anything so I called at 415pm and the manager cut me short and said I am not getting involved in this and have nothing to do with it. I kindly asked him what he thought of the ring and he said he thought it was beautiful. I stated you mean to tell me that you would give at ring looking that that to your significant other. How can you let a product leave your business looking like that. He was very rude and wasn't helpful at all. So to you all out there I am sharing the worst experience of my life that is supposed to be the happiest parts of my life that they ruined a piece of. I have photos!

Garon's Jewelry & Design - Jewelry Repair

It's nice to be able to leave a 5-star review to an establishment like Garon's. I'm fairly picky,…read moredon't give out 5-star ratings very often, but I feel it's a well deserved rating. Terrific place, with super nice folks who work there. Garon, the owner, is one swell guy to work with. Big jewelry store in a seemingly small building. Lots of inventory from watches to all kinds of jewelry; I can't imagine a person not being able to find what they're looking for there. I just went in for a watch battery. It was not only replaced in a few minutes, but for $8, a person couldn't ask for a fairer price than that. I'm relatively new to the area, and had probably driven by 1000 times before I knew they were there. A friend turned me on to Garon's, and said he's been going there for decades. I was as impressed by the store as I was with its owner and staff. Garon's will most definitely be my go-to place from here on out.

The ring I got for my Fiancee (now wife) is an absolute gem (hold applause for puns please). The owner Garon, his wife, and Michael were all great. When I found a problem with my ring after purchase I mailed it to them and they fixed the problem at no cost. Considering this involved them actually replacing the diamond with a higher quality one, this is unheard of in modern business. Do not go to Jared, do not go to Zales, go here!

Oz's Jewelers - White Gold Diamond Engagement Ring

I was looking to buy my wife a diamond for our anniversary and searched online for a good jeweler…read more When I came across Oz's Jewelers, I read several reviews and decided that I would start there, I'm glad I did! Customer service is of the upmost importance to them. This isn't like going to the jewelry store at the mall, this is personal and Oz's look forward to having you as their customer, and they take great pride in providing you the best service and the best jewelry at what I consider are great prices! When I went in, I talked with Emily Ann and gave her my budget price; she didn't try to sell me a nice diamond in that price range, she showed me a great diamond at a lower price, that's customer service! The diamond I ended up with is beautiful and my wife absolutely loves it! Emily Ann even suggested yellow gold for the band (as that's what I wanted) with white gold for the prongs, that way the diamond won't pick up the gold color. The diamond is absolutely brilliant, the colors are beautiful! The diamond I bought is a VS1: By definition, VS1 diamonds are those that are very slightly included. These inclusions, are not even noticeable to the naked eye. After making this purchase I received a very nice gift card from Oz's and returned to by my wife a nice pair of birthstone earrings, she was overjoyed! Thank you Oz's Jewelers, especially Emily Ann, and thank you Melissa for making our anniversary that much more special! I will continue to use Oz's as my go to jewelers! You're the best!

Be careful working with this company, they are under new ownership. It is not the same Oz Jewelers…read more THEY LOST MY ACCENT RUBY, THEY CHIPPED MY RUBY, AND THE PRONG WORK IS AWFUL. I got my ring back a week ago and took it to different Jewelers in the surrounding area and all said, "the prong work leaves alot to be desired" - they were to replace a prong on my sapphire and tip the other 3. There are ripples in the tipped prongs and they are so bad the Jewelers reviewing it would not attempt to tell me which one was replaced. I have had this ring for over a decade, it is well loved and in sterling silver, which is soft but the sapphire is not centered. There is a huge gap and the stone is pushed to one side leaving it diagonal. There are several prongs on the accent setting that needs replacement, that was never even mentioned to me when I brought it in. This ring was giving to me by my father when I was 19, it was 1,000 almost 20 years ago, my father passed in January. There is no amount of money too great for this ring. I added photos so you can see how poorly this ring was done, every jeweler I've spoken with said they would not return my ring to me like this. The stone they lost, I went to pick up my ring and was told the jeweler forgot to put the stone in. Why was my ring not inspected before it was put in a bag as completed? The ruby was not in the bag and they only told me it was lost thr next day, because the color did not match and they had to order a new ruby. THE COLOR STILL DOES NOT MATCH! In the sun you can see how pink the stone is compared to the others. And the ruby below the ruby they replaced has been chipped in the same spot the prong lays on the stone they replaced. This ring is "well loved", it is almost 20 years old. But none of my stones were chipped when I brought it in. There was no mention of a chipped stone when it was brought in. I know there are no photos of a chipped stone because my stone WAS NOT CHIPPED! The prong that broke was on the opposite side of the ring. I've included a photo of how my ring looked before it was brought in. I am devastated this all happened. I'm angry how this was handled. Every jeweler was surprised this was Oz's work and so am I. I will be taking this as far as I can. I'm an accountant, I have money Melissa and the ring you messed up means more to me than you will ever know.

Got my back glass "fixed" & didn't notice it didn't fit in my case until I got home because they told me it would be 25 minutes but instead it took an hour, after demanding my phone back 4 times somehow they were magically done, he put the back glass on & rubber bands around it and told me to take them off when I got home. Note there was also glue literally all over my phone because of how rushed they were. When I got home and took the rubber bands off the phone didn't even fit in my $60 CASEMATE case anymore. I came back to give them a chance to make it right & he said he would fix it for half price lol. My phone fell out and broke due to it not fitting in the case all the way. His advice was to pay $50 to fix it again and buy a new case which would put me over $100 AGAIN in less than a week. Apple will not touch the phone due to them touching it so I'm out of a $1,200 phone. Unfortunately for them I would rather pay double what my phone is worth for a lawyer than to let them get away with this. Even if I loose I'll spend the rest of my life warning people of this business. Also edit to add, while I was waiting for my phone they literally told everyone the same price for every device no matter what it is or what happened to it & they hound you to fix it right then and there putting people in the most awkward positions. There's way better places than this one to get your phone fixed in the hickory area.

The place is an absolute disaster inside, but not having frequented many tv repair shops, I wasn't sure if this was the norm or not. They don't take debit or credit cards and he charges $50.00 to diagnose the problem, so we had to go back out and get cash. We left the TV with him and he said he would call to let us know what the issue was. When we didn't hear back after about a week or so, my boyfriend called him. He gave us the specific serial number and part number we needed to order. He originally told me that he could order it, but it would be less expensive if we ordered it online. We did that and had it sent directly to the shop. Another couple of weeks went by and we heard nothing, even though we knew the part had been delivered a week previous, so my boyfriend called him back again. He said the part we ordered didn't work in the TV and that it can be tricky even though the part number and serial numbers match up. My boyfriend asked him if he could just order the part, and then bill us for it. He said that they don't do that. So my boyfriend let him know we would be up on Saturday to pick up the TV. They are only open from 10-2, so we got there at 12. The OPEN sign outside was on, but the door was locked. There were two other customers in the parking lot (one there to pick up his TV that also wasn't fixed). My boyfriend called the number on the sign and the same guy we had been dealing with picked up and said he was at lunch and to wait for him to get back in 30 minutes or so. Understandably we were irritated seeing that they are only open for 4 hours on Saturday, and like most working people, we had a lot to get done that day. He asked us to let everyone in the parking lot know that he was at lunch and would be back in thirty minutes or so to which my boyfriend refused. We left and came back 45 minutes later, my boyfriend walks in and the guy says the TV is still not put back together, that it will be 30 minutes and he will leave it on the porch. My boyfriend (who is typically a very good natured and calm person) was upset and had words with the guy. The guy told him we were lucky they are open on Saturday at all and that it was his fault that we ordered the wrong part. These people are supposed to be in the business of repairing TV's. If it were easy, we wouldn't have felt the need to take it to a "professional". If it is tricky to find the right part online, he should have helped us, sent us a link or something. We came back, started loading the TV in the truck and the guy was outside the shop watching us and furiously typing or texting on his flip phone and taking pictures of us, as if we were doing something criminal. It was very strange and would rate as one of the very worst customer service/business experiences I have ever had. We did receive a recommendation after we had dropped this one off for a more local repair place. My boyfriend dropped the TV off yesterday, so we shall see ...
