The owners and staff at Kudzu are exceptionally knowledgeable across a wide range of instruments and gear, and their prices for both merchandise and services are very reasonable. String changes and guitar setups are often ready by the end of the day, and repairs are usually completed within a week or less.
They take quality of inventory seriously so it's like finding a needle in a stack of needles... you don't have to waste your time sorting through a big warehouse inventory of hay.
About a year ago, I was looking to trade in my guitar for something new. I visited two different Guitar Center locations, and both experiences were about the same: guitars were hanging too high to easily try, the strings were in terrible condition, and it was difficult to find anyone available who could meaningfully answer my questions.
Kudzu was the complete opposite! The staff asked me thoughtful questions to help narrow down what I was actually looking for, let me try numerous guitars and amps, and even replaced several batteries for me along the way. I spent about two hours there, and knowledgeable help was readily available the entire time without ever feeling pushy.
That experience completely sold me on Kudzu. It's got it all, knowledgeable people, quality gear, fair prices, excellent service, and staff who genuinely seem to care about helping you find what's right for you. Wish I could give more stars! read more
