It had a number of problems with intonation, uneven areas on fretboard, very uneven tone on pickups. When I visited Chuck Marfione's workshop I asked for his recommendations and would not have been surprised if he said it wasn't worth fixing or suggested he could have it playing like an American Strat. He did say that he could get it playing better. I was frankly amazed when I picked it up. Plays great. Chuck readjusted all the pickups and the tone across all the strings is remarkably balanced. This is true across the five switching options for the pickups as well as the adjustment pots controlling brightness. It's clear that Chuck does a lot of work with classical guitars, but he knows what he is doing on other stringed instruments as well. I am super satisfied with my new Strat.
