The proximity to our flat, and our conversation with the staff caused us to choose this place over the numerous offerings on what we will call the strip just outside of "Old Town" in Bari. The place looks kind of classy, the way it's laid out with the glass doors, and the fresh fish offering of the day sitting on ice as you walk into the interior seating area.
We sat outside, and ordered the Spritz for the lovely K which came with bruschetta while I had a local beer. For our main we ordered the famous local pasta with braised meat, Orecchiette braciola. We also ordered a bottle of red, as the white offering was limited and a bit pricey. As we discussed the white's were 18 to 25 euros and the grocery store across the street has a number of amazing offerings at less than 8.
The bruschetta was nothing short of amazing with 6 different morsels very well plated, and oh so good. We could have ordered a couple of those and gone back to the flat full and happy.
The orecchiette braciola was also excellent and nicely complimented by the wine making for a filling and delightful meal.
We do feel like we should have tried the fish as it was very fresh, and looked so good, but our tastebuds were looking for traditional Italian fare, and that's what we were given in spades. Looks like another place we will have to try again while here in beautiful Bari! read more
