This was our final meal in Bari and right on the last night of the San Nicola festival so the city was PACKED. Came around 7:30 and we, true to form, didn't have a reservation, but they said as long as we finished by 9, we'd be good. I was happy they were able to accommodate us and the staff couldn't be friendlier.
Absolutely loved the interior of the place. Felt airy and light. It was a nice change of pace eating in the new town section of the city near the upscale shopping district, since we spent so much time exploring the old city. However, it was MUCH more affordable than the interior of the place and the quality of the food would indicate.
Starter: bruschetta
Entrees: shrimp scampi
Desserts: chocolate lava cake / waffle with ice cream
The bruschetta was fresh and delicious. Our shrimp scampis were a nice adequate portion and perfectly al dente, with a delicious buttery lemony sauce and a seasoned prawn on top. For dessert, the chocolate lava cake was pretty standard (could have been from any American restaurant) and they were out of my waffle and ice cream which was a little disappointing when they brought me a single bowl of vanilla ice cream but no waffle (still tasty ice cream, though).
As reparations, they handed us a massive candy jar to make up for that, which was adorable.
Overall, it's a good place to get a cheap dinner, but the crowd is 100% families with small children, so be aware. read more
