We had walked by this establishment a couple of times during the day while wandering in the no car zone of Via Roberto da Bari. Decided to give it a go, and in doing so discovered another solid place for dinner. It's an outside place for sure with only a couple of tables inside.
Our waitress was very nice, and candidly shared that she was tired from the evening before when the entire area around old town was packed with people due to the festival and free concert that took place a couple of minutes walk from our flat.
We ordered a salad to begin, me a meatball pizza with prosciutto, and the lovely K pasta carbonara as our meals. The salad was copious in quantity and lovely in freshness with radish as an ingredient (one of our favourites, and always in our garden at home) which we have yet to see while here.
The pizza I was warned was rich, which it was, but tasty and nicely prepared. The meatballs were a little on the pink side, but had a lovely taste and texture. The lovely K's carbonara was very good, and a significant portion, which probably could have fed the both of us.
We took pizza back to the flat as I was unable to eat it all, and it made for a nice snack the following day right out of the fridge, which is saying something. Carbonara doesn't age well so we left what was not tucked away there.
We'll be darkening their door again before leaving Bari, which says a lot given the multitude of choices here. read more
