The menu was simple. 6-7 kinds of appetizers. 3-4 kinds of salads. There was no seafood tower or oysters that we often find in the US steakhouses. The meats are dry aged. We didn't find filet mignon, maybe it was the translation. We all ordered entrecôte. For 300g, about $45-48 depending on €/$ exchange rate. Three medium well, three medium rare and one well done. All were on the rare side. There weren't many sides to choose from - fries, potatoes, green bean that's all. We will try a different steakhouse next time.

I came in around 6:00 and it was starting to fill up. Rather than take a table, I sat at the bar near the front which had about six or seven seats. I got a beer right away and because I'd looked at the menu online (they have an English menu on their website) I knew I wanted the rib eye master cut. The steak came with a salad, which was good (although heavy on the raw onions, luckily I wasn't kissing anyone later) as well as a baked potato and garlic bread. The master cut comes with freshly grated horseradish that really added an extra boost to the already flavorful rib eye. The steak was tender and even though rib eyes are by nature fatty, this one had the flavor without too much extra fat. I liked it a lot. I also liked the extra sour cream they provided and ate every last drop! The waiter convinced me to order some chocolate lava cake for dessert and it was also good. In the US, they usually serve cake like that with a raspberry sauce and I'm just not a fan of raspberries. However, this came with a blueberry sauce which was perfect. The best thing is that for a beer, a big bottle of sparkling water, the steak and the cake, my total bill was €43 or just under $50 and that is what I would have paid for just the steak back in NYC. The service was also very friendly...maybe they get a lot of tourists or something but it was probably the friendliest service I had in all of Germany. I'm a big fan of the Block House!

We were in an "execute room" on the 10th floor but that just meant we had included lounge access. For us this is perfect as he was working and the kid and I were touristing. We didn't need more than beds and a bathroom. For us the lounge made sense. Full breakfast is included, plus snacks in mid morning, a dinner of sorts, wine and after dinner snack, candy wall, all you care for sodas (Pepsi) and coffee/tea/hot chocolate. Everything was nonsmoking which was appreciated by us. The -2 floor offers a small gym with free weights and some cardio machines. There's a recreational pool, hot tub, sauna, and infrared chairs in three other part of that "gym" space.
