Paid 5.10€ for my pictured portions. Had their cold & hot pizzas -and preferred the hot. Mushroom pizza was my fave. Water is complimentary, on the wall in eating area after glass case of food. Press button to start, and press button again to stop. Don't understand why there's 3 different water buttons but I had the far right, named Liscia, and it tasted great. If I understood correctly, they're open through the night until 6am. Interesting area considering I found a classy bar a few blocks down the same street towards the high school that's 24 hours called Caffe Venezia. Unsure why this area is open so late but I'll definitely be back for late night hunger pangs (California time difference).

I'm not a food critic at all but comment and appreciate ambiance, decor, and service having worked in several restaurants as a young person. I wish I had captured the names of the young ladies who assisted us but I failed. The whole evening was great and as requested they did not make a fuss over our Anniversary. We are here for a couple nights in the immediate area and I am sure we will return. The restrooms are on the second floor available via stairs or a lift (elevator). There is a second kitchen and banquet room also on the second floor that looks professional enough to be a culinary school of the arts. The least favorable aspect of the evening was the desert (dolci) options. They just didn't rise to the same level as other courses of our evening. The place, one of 11 from what I understand is really comfortable except (and not to complain) the air I was set too hight or turned off as the air was stagnant and felt rather humid. However, as stated earlier we will return, perhaps as early as breakfast tomorrow morning. We areived at 19.00 and 20.00 the place was pretty packed. Inside and outside seating options.

Very nice ambience wherever you decide to stay, whether outdoors in the front by the Baroque Church or in their beautiful internal garden, or in their dining room inside. Food was excellent with quality ingredients, expertise in combining flavours that clearly comes from decades of homemade cooking style this family-run venue is famous for. A place where the locals flock and as you taste the flavours you understand why. Homemade pasta with mushrooms and truffles, grilled meats and an excellent pizza selection right out of a wood-burning oven, La Taverna offers something for all tastes. Service was quite attentive and could be improved. All in all, a lovely wine & dine experience in one of Pescara's loveliest 17th century quarters. Will certainly return.
