We have been going to Marcus for almost 2 years amd they got some good deals! Seats were comfy with good audio. The only complaint is about some other guests who loved to talk during movies or on their phones. We had to inform management about the issue and lose some time in watching. I should know because I go to the movies almost weekly, and MPC has a very personal feel to their theaters, well-taken care of by management and love the short video tacked onto each movie from the owners. Excellent app with frequent updates and deals! You can buy tickets, pre-purchase food and look at current/upcoming movies. Love the old school architecture, what a beautiful landmark! Plenty of parking too. Ticket prices are very affordable under $6- $12 (I'm used to expensive $15-25/each for regular/IMAX). They have a nice lobby with multiple checkout counters to order from. Clean hallways/bathrooms and temperature is set comfortably, as well as the leather chairs that recline and are quite wide. My friends had visited the Point Cinema a couple days ago, at the concession stand, one of the workers was very rude to them. When they explained the situation to the manager, she refused to discipline her subordinate and demanded an apology from them. After they tried to drop it and go to see their movie, she demanded they leave, bragged about how she controls everything and can pause, rewind and even stop movies at a moment's notice and then threatened to call the police and file a false police report and even refused to give them a refund, both of which are illegal. According to other reviews, this is not the first time this has happened and this is a pattern of behavior when it comes to abuse of power. I am calling on Marcus Theaters to remove this manager and to retrain their employees, because this is beyond unprofessional. read more

Love to see Marcus Point Cinema still holding on in the age of at-home streaming. Really warms my heart to see lil kiddos still at the movies, bringing their own fuzzy blankets and with popcorn buckets larger than their head. My pros for this place - super comfy seats. They recline, and you can get a loveseat one, pop up the armrest in the middle and cuddle with bae. I think they do their best to make it as comfy as at home would be (or in my case comfier RIP no couch studio life). There's a ton of room in between seats so you're not trying to peak over someone's head (this shiz is the worst). Hit up the bathrooms at the end of the theater, way cleaner. read more

When it was being made in 2019 I thought I'd never have the opportunity to attend a screening, with only British actors on the marquee, one from TV and the other unknown in the states. With Amazon distribution, *some* people waited to watch it at home when it launched in November. I had a miserable experience dealing with management here. 3/31/25 - I left my watch in the theater while leaving the last showing of the night. Went back immediately to look, but Marcus was closed by then. Came in that same morning right at open time after calling several times (to no avail) and was told management would "check the lost and found later in the day". I was also told to "call back in a few days". Mind you, we were the last ones to leave that theater, as well as the first ones to arrive the next day. I have reasonable suspicion someone on their staff, or a member of the overnight cleaning crew, stole my watch. Had they been more attentive to my issue the day of, there may of been a better chance of getting it back. Or at least getting in touch with the person who cleaned the theater that evening. Disappointed and furious. Also, not to mention, the women's restrooms don't even have feminine products. Pathetic. My partner had to ask an employee for one. How sad is that? read more

For the duration of a movie, you can fully immerse yourself with a digital experience that's like no other. Recline in your seats and enjoy the show! Ticketing experience is usually fairly simple, either buy in person at the counter or the check in kiosk. I usually buy my tickets in advance so I know what seats I have before I get to the theater. Service at the concession stands can be a bit slow. However nothing beats $5 movies on Tuesday and free small popcorn for Magical Movie Members! The last two times I went to a movie here my recliner seats were broken. Some of the theater seats desperately need to be replaced. If they're not broken then the leather is completely worn off and what's left is dirty upholstery. No one wants to sit on that. Apparently no one is inspecting the seats. Absolutely amazing movie watching experience! I enjoyed their reclining chairs, Dolby digital sound and the ultra wide screens. I also appreciated they has a full menu and bar for food but you order outside and bring in. Last time I went there was a group of kids that snuck into the movie shortly after it started. Normally I wouldn't mind it much if they had been quiet and just watched the movie. But they spent the entirety of the movie running back and forth, in and out of the theater. They'd randomly sit down in the aisle instead of in seats because they clearly didn't have tickets and it was assigned seating. They constantly had their phones out and were shouting obscenities' at each other. (This was during a showing of Inside Out 2 with mostly families and children in the theater) At one point a fist fight broke out and they were literally punching each other in the middle of the theater during the movie. The employees did literally nothing, not even call the police after the fight broke out. They just didn't care. If kids cannot even watch a children's movie without hearing cursing and seeing physical violence why would I ever come back here? Also the popcorn was pretty bad. It was literally the bottom with mostly kernels and the broken bits, only a few whole pieces of popcorn. I have a way better experience just watching movies at home then coming here unfortunately. read more

I honestly love discount Tuesdays and Thursdays and then they have the deal with a $2 hot dog one of the days. Great value to watch a movie you've been itching to see on a weeknight. Staff has always been super friendly for the 15+ years I've been coming here. One major improvement since when I first started coming here are of course the dream loungers! Super comfy! So comfy, sometimes (a lot of the time), I take a little snooze during the movie. Went for an impromptu weekday Noon matinee showing of The Revenant. This has always been my favorite movie theater in the area. With its relatively recent upgrades, it continues to be my favorite. I did not expect many other moviegoers so expected the theater to be very clean and quiet. It was. The bathrooms are spotless and all the employees were very helpful and friendly, as usual. They have counterpersons selling tickets as well as their self serve kiosks available. For my regular adult price matinee, $6. You could also pick and reserve your seat right there at the counter or the kiosk. Good deal! I did not purchase any concession items. Also, it does not appear that their Take Six dining and food service option is open during weekday matinees. The show was playing in Theater 14 so was not on one of their deluxe ultra screens. It is one of their smaller theaters but it still feels spacious yet intimate. The theater is outfitted in their new dream lounger leather seats which recline and have extending foot rests. But for the previews and the moview, it would have been night-night time! The theater is also handicapped accessible. The main entrance into the theater is at the top of the seating area which slopes downward towards the screen. So those in wheelchairs or with other mobility challenges can easily find a seat there at the top on a flat surface, safe and sound. Because of the theater size and layout, the first row of seating does not feel like the nosebleed section or a begrudging afterthought to accommodate the mobility challenged. The temperature was just right, as was the image and sound. I was sitting in the very back next to a wall so was concerned that the image would be smallish and the sound would painfully reverberate. But it was very good and manageable. Definitely a fun trip and look forward to sneaking away again. Tips though--currently all movies on Tuesdays are $5. Also, if you are a Marcus movie rewards member, you can accumulate points to get special offers on concession snacks, shows, etc. See you at the show. read more

This movie theater has been my favorite the entire time I've lived in Madison. There's always a great selection of movies and the app makes it super easy to get your tickets. The staff here are very helpful and attentive. The concessions are a bit expensive but they are pretty good. The bar/restaurant area is pretty nice and a good place to grab food or drinks before the show. The theaters are a pretty nice size. They are also pretty clean considering their size. This theater has had reasonable Covid precautions which I appreciate. 8/10, an awesome place to catch a movie if you're in town read more

The recent rennovations have been nice, but it's taking me a little time to get used to everything. I like going to new movies a little after they come out - like a new release on the Wednesday after the weekend it's released... I'll catch the morning showing after a quick round of golf (that's what vacation days are for, amiright?). Sometimes I'm the only one in the place! Of course, it's a theater, so all of the snacks and stuff are overpriced, but they are there if you have a hankerin'. I try to avoid that stuff, but can't resist sometimes. Doing the cheaper morning show will loosen my wallet a bit for a savory treat. The seating is comfortable and spaced out well. I like the UltraScreen a lot, but won't go out of my way to see a movie on it - if the timing works, great. The theater's location is great - plenty to do around it: shopping, restaurants, etc. UPDATE: I finally had the chance to try out the new "Dream Lounger" recliners. I must say, they were VERY nice. The kids loved them, and I sure wasn't complaining. We had to sit near the front, and reclining put us at a viewing angle that didn't break our neck. This has been my go-to movie theater since I moved to the area in 1998. Since that time, Point has made numerous upgrades to change with the times, as well as to compete with the many home viewing options that keep people away from the theater these days. A few years ago, Point remodeled to update their look, as well as to add a bar, dining, and reclining seats in every auditorium. I have taken advantage of the Take 5 bar in the lobby before a movie many times, and I love that you can carry your beverage into the theater with you. The food in the bar is good too. Nothing overly special or unique, but good for a bite before or after your show. The bar has a giant screen where they show old movies, and on game days, they show sports and have food and drink specials. You don't need a ticket to a movie to enjoy the bar's accommodations. It's no secret that seeing a movie isn't exactly easy on the wallet. However, Point offers a lot of specials to help make things more affordable. My husband and I take advantage of the early bird pricing often, where movies before 11 are only $6. And every Tuesday, movies are only $5 all day, and there are snack specials as well. There are also showings of special film series, (for example, October will have Fright Nights with popular horror movies). I don't know how much these, or other series cost, but I know they are less than a typical movie ticket. Also, if you're a frequent movie goer, consider signing up for the rewards program for additional deals and discounts. Point staff members are always friendly. The bathrooms, lobby, auditoriums, and other common areas are all clean and well maintained. I'd say my only real complaint is I feel like talkers and texters typically get away with being rude and annoying. Almost every movie I go to has some person being disruptive in one way or another. That drives me absolutely nuts. I know that if you complain, someone from the staff will talk to the offenders, but I really don't like getting up during a movie that I paid a lot to see just to tell the ushers to do their jobs. Overall, Point is my favorite theater in Madison, and I will always choose to go there over any other theater in town. read more

Anyone who wonders why the movie theater industry is going downhill should watch a movie in theater 15 of this place. They don't gets the theater dark enough, so there are big washed out areas at the bottom corner of the screen throughout the movie. Even worse (for the movie I saw), there were what I can only assume were artifacts of the digital projection system-- large, weirdly "flashy" areas anytime there were large areas of lighter colors- almost like a highly compressed, poorly encoded download. Totally distracting throughout the movie. If I'm going to go to a movie it needs to look better than it looks on my (totally average) TV. Theater 15 is one of the smaller theaters. I've never had a bad experience with this theater. Clean, friendly staff, comfortable reclining seats and you can even take in a drink from the bar or food from their dinner menu. What's there to complain about? The best times to go are Tuesdays - movies are $5 and you can reserve your seats ahead of time which I highly recommend. If there is a chance you get a seat without doing that, it'll be all the way up front (which honestly isn't that bad because the seats recline all the way back). There are multiple kiosks in the front when you walk in where you can print your ticket. You either enter your confirmation number that is emailed to you or just use the credit card you bought the tickets with to obtain them. Voilà easy as that! Easy Marcus app purchasing and phone scan ticket retrieval. All great things. The only downsides: location. I wish we had more that two theaters in Madison at far east and far west locations. Either way, it's a long slog home for us central city dwellers. And the seats -- comfy as they are, I'm not a fan of sharing a double seat with a stranger; I see movies by myself most of the time. Note, that this review is just for TODAY. I have been going to either Point Cinema, or Eastgate/Palace, since as long as I can remember, maybe early 90s. I have never really had issues with the movie going experience, nor the staff...until today. I went to see HAPPY DEATH DAY 2U, and went in knowing to stay for an mid-end credits scene, so while there was a whole THREE people in the theater, the other couple left and I was alone waiting for the scene. Suddenly, an usher tells me I this isn't a lounge and to get the hell out of the theater. I told him the movie wasn't over and that there was still a scene left. He just stood there watching me from the other side of the theater, I assume he radio'd his boss, as when the scene came on, I mocked in by saying there was a scene after all and the manager came storming in quickly after it started. He said I was being disrespectful to the employee and that they had hd a ton of complaints about me playing on my phone throughout the film. 1. I have never and will never use my phone during a movie. I am that cliched anal movie goer that hates any calls, texts or talking during a movie. 2. There were only the three of us in the movie and no one left at any time, so who exactly complained? When I brought up that not only was the usher lying, this manager...his named is Michael and his fav film is THE SANDLOT, according to his name badge, me to leave. So, despite paying to see the ENTIRE film, I missed the end credits scene due to this two morons. Is Point Cinema gonna demand people leave and miss ALL extra scenes now? That might not go over well during the upcoming Marvel films. Anyways, telling me story on every platform I can. Hopefully they don't do treat anyone else like crap like they did to me.
