Their associates came with offers to do a "free" valuation of my property, then came back with a below market valuation and made an offer to buy my property at sub market prices. I rejected the insultingly low offer. They kept sending representatives and now they're saying they want to represent me in a sale of my property as the seller's agent? Conflict of interest? I never read reviews of Marcus Millichap before going in on a RE purchase as a partner. That was over 5 years ago and to this day I still get calls from them hawking a deal or trying to follow up on the purchase. They are like HAWKS!! more like BUZZARDS! if you DO plan to sign up with M&M I recommend you buy a burner fone and give them that number then trash the fone later because whatever tel# you give them goes into their follow up and harass file. Unlike some of the extremely negative reviews on this list, I can only say good things about NNN expert real estate agent, Jeffrey Myers of Marcus and Millichap. I had the good fortune to meet Jeff back in 2015 after I sold some residential units and was looking to do a 1031 Exchange. After carefully and kindly teaching me about NNN transactions, Jeff discovered a property in Indio, California, which I purchase and owned until just a few months ago. At that time, Jeff wisely and selflessly advised me to exchange into something else because the lease only had five years left on it and the rent was way above market - the latter meaning that the tenant would not remotely renew without a substantial drop in rent. We both began looking for an exchange property. After we both sifted through some possibilities, Jeff found a financially solid tenant with 17 years left on the lease. As the exchange wasn't for the full amount, Jeff also found me a highly reputable DST firm where I exchanged the delta amount. On top of all that, Jeff also referred me to a loan broker who was able to convince the seller to finance the exchanged debt on the primary property, and at a rate and terms well below market. In my opinion, and despite an awfuly long and arduous escrow period, without Jeff guiding me along the way, it undoubtedly would have been worse. I did a lot of griping and was pretty tough on this stalwart guy. I'm glad he is my broker and hope he forgives me! read more

I worked with Brad in the Scottsdale financing office. I was baited in with a great bank offer. Put my Earnest money down on a property, then switched into a loan that was the equivalent of a loan shark offer. I would never recommend this company. Who would possibly want to allow people who don't respect boundaries to sell their property? Good companies develop a reputation in the community by acting honorably and developing a loyal following of customers and word-of-mouth. This company resorts to telemarketing type tactics of hammering people with phone calls after it has been communicated they want the calls to stop. This is clearly harassment. I made The GREATEST Mistake of my Life By using. Marcus & Millichap and trusted the agent to sell my Properties and find me NNN Properties to purchase. The agent told me he would make sure that I did not Purchase any properties that had leases that were " fake " leases. When I asked him what he meant by Fake leases. said " some agents will sell you properties on fake High paying leases. So you spend more money on them then after 6 months or a year that person leaves your property ! Leaving you with a property that you can only Rent at 1/3 of the fake lease you had. ". After what might already be at least 20 years of non-stop, completely UNWANTED solicitations from Marcus & Millichap staff and my repeated past communications directly and firmly instructing this business to immediately cease any communications to me, they have NEVER once complied. They also generate numerous hang up calls, especially on days or weeks that they call numerous times daily, as revealed by my caller I.D.. Virtually without exception, every one of Marcus & Millichap's reviews are one star negative reviews. Many of these complaints pertaining to their various staff and office locations reference these seemingly UNstoppable, highly disruptive, nusense solicitations. So many others also write that they ask for these calls to stop but Marcus & Millichap will NOT stop or even slow down. On top of this, just as I am, many if not all of these persons complaining are on the National Do Not Call Registry list, making these cold solicitation calls TOTALLY ILLEGAL. I can't even count how many of my dinners they have disturbed over the years with phone solicitations. Years back we'd run to our ringing landline without caller I.D. only to realize it's Marcus & Millichap calling, AGAIN!!! The St. Louis, MO team lacked professionalism and competence. Would never have selected this company if I had known the lack of effort that they would put into selling my property. In a sellers market, they sold my 100% occupied commercial property well under the appraised value. Consistently directed prospective buyers to my rental agent for information, who was not receiving a sales commission, even after being told to stop. Monday became Tuesday, became Thursday. Than the owner was out of town, the owner is old and cant read emails and NOW they don't know whats going on. Every possible excuse you could think of. I am on the "Do Not Call" list, but these people don't care. They break the law and call me on my cell phone and home phone. My wife and I ask these people to leave us alone, but they don't care or respect our wishes. They call at least twice a month. They continue to call. I guess the look through rental ads to track down landlords and bug the hell out of them begging for a listing. This company must be pretty pathetic to work for. I would NEVER do business with a disrespectful firm like this that's so hard up they continue to call even when you ask them not to! This is the only company that I get constant calls from. Sad!!
