This place came highly recommended and it was fun to try it out. We made a reservation on their website a few days in advance for 7 pm and arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation time. Unfortunately, our table was not ready when we arrived which I always think is a bad sign when you've made a booking a few days prior, it's kind of a bad start. This was partly made up by the owner offering us something to drink while we waited and we were seated around 20 minutes after our original reservation time.
We definitely went in with high expectations since Anna B. has spoken so highly of this place and in light of the recent "taste test", so we were interested in trying out the exact same pizza in both gluten free and regular form, just to see if the taste test was as infallible as advertised. My girlfriend is gluten intolerant and finding a place that caters to her is definitely a great delight - there's a big lack of places like that when you compare Stockholm to for instance NYC (but I digress).
To start off, we ordered the shrimp starter which came in a cute small pan. It consisted of four pieces of shrimp that were swimming in a lovely, zesty garlic sauce. My honest opinion here was that while it was tasty - even for a starter, it was on the cheap side considering the starter cost over 100 SEK.
We were served our appetizer within 20 minutes of ordering it. We finished it in like 5 minutes and then a waiting game begun. 30 minutes went by and we still had none of the two pizzas that we had ordered. I grabbed a waitress and asked what the holdup is? (it's a pizza, after all). She then says "oh, you want me to ask them to start it?" which kind of caught me off guard. So, we had ordered our pizzas and after they had cleared our appetizers - they still hadn't started our pizzas? Odd. Either way, after talking to the waitress the pizzas came out after like 15 minutes.
We ordered the chorizo pizza which was unbelievably tasty. I loved mine and so did my girlfriend. Whilst the taste was great for both pizzas, I'd say that in a "blind test", you'll definitely be able to tell which one is gluten free and which one isn't - and that's just by the consistency. The pizza was a flavor explosion of the best kind and combined the best flavors in one piece. It totally surpassed the wildest of expectations and I left a very happy camper. I'd even say that out of the hundreds of pizzas I've ever had in Sweden, this one is in the top three.
If you take this place for what it is, which is a cute bistro in a very up-and-coming neighborhood that's quickly getting very hip, then you'll have a blast. The next time we come here, we'll definitely skip out on the starter and jump right on the pizzas. read more
