Good pizza, fast friendly service, and the delivery is always really quick with steaming hot pizza and really awesome brownies. The staff appears to have a lot of fun and is very team oriented, greeting each other with a hearty "Welcome Back!" as employees enter the building. They are very friendly, helpful, and patient. The owner is a really nice guy who goes out of his way to make sure you have a positive experience and are totally satisfied with the service and the product. His staff seems to like him and seem quick to please as he offers positive feedback for their efforts. He seems like an excellent leader and someone they like to work for.
Warning - TLDR about one exceptional experience we have had:
We live outside the delivery area, so we are unable to order delivery online, which prevents us from getting any of the discounts for using their online service. I usually have my husband enter the order online and I go pick it up. I mentioned this to the cashier one day, complaining about what a rotten day it had been and how frustrated my husband was that he was unable to just have the food delivered. She asked me to hold on for a minute and walked away. Another guy came to the register and asked what we had ordered, and started ringing us up. He asked about the delivery issue, where we lived (just a block past their delivery border), and continued to type away on the register. Once he was finished, he told me that in the future, they would deliver to our place if we called in the order, but the website is set up for the whole chain, so he couldn't help with that, allowing us to get the online discounts, but to make it up to us, he had tacked on some extra salads and free brownies, and even offered us some free sodas while we waited for them to bag it all up! He called it our "Bad Day Discount" (that's what it said on the receipt too!), and apologized for any inconvenience we had suffered. We asked his name and he said he was one of the owners. But it doesn't end there! We took the bag and stack of pizza boxes home, only to find that one of the pizzas was not what we ordered, and the bag only contained the brownies, but no salads. We felt bad because they had made such an effort to make us happy that we just made do with what we were given and let it go. Well, halfway through the meal, the owner calls and asks if we were missing our salads. I said yes, but it was okay, the pizza would be enough. He said no, he insisted that they be brought to us right away, and confirmed the address I had given to him at the store. I then mentioned that he might check his other orders because someone else may have gotten a pizza they didn't want because we ended up with theirs (we ordered the pineapple and bacon). He was so upset that they had messed up our order, he said he would send out the corrected order right away. We told him no, we didn't need any more pizza, it was fine, just let it go. Fifteen minutes later, the owner was at our door with two salads and gift certificates for two more pizzas to make up for the trouble. Seriously, this guy went far beyond the extra mile to make sure our Marco's experience was a positive one in the end!! We are now huge Marco's fans!! read more
