I have Dr Mckone for 45 yrs...the BEST!! We continued to go to Peoria office after he left and got fed up. 1) was told I could bring ny crown work from 2025 back to 2024 as had enough insurance to cover. Cost me $880. 2) never the same hygienist 3) wife was told she needed a crown, a filling would not work. Changed dentist and, alas, no cavity. The dentist is competent, but she seems to me, in my opinion, more interested in the $$'s. She also corrects her hygienist in from of patient which is not very professional. They are always canceling your appointments. They can't keep a dental hygienist. Very frustrating when you've already made an appointment several months ahead of time so you can request the time off work and pick the availability when your child is out of school. This has happened several times. I am finding g a new place to go that is reliable. read more

They said I owed them money and I have never been to their office. I asked them to send me a statement showing what I owed them and what was done . Never received one but they turned the charge over to a collection agency! Eventually I discovered it was for a charge from my previous dentist that had retired and they " bought" his business. Still have never received an explanation as to what the charge was for!!! read more

So disappointed with this office no one returns calls ever! Billing took them months to correct insurance however they kept sending me a bill that went to collections, when it was there error and even after I showed proof of payment. read more

Does anyone here know what is going on???? Very hard to work with billing. Does not reply to any correspondence. Charges that don't make sense. Extra charges/hidden charges every time you go. Loved the PPE charge and nothing was different. You don't even have the clean smell so you know some cleaning was done. The good talented people have left so that is a good sign something wrong is going on here. Patients beware! read more

I have been a patient here for over 30 years and cannot believe how much has changed (& not for the better) in the last year. Sadly I am forced to find a new dentist because it has become clear patient care & customer service are no longer values of this practice. My issues started in October of 2022, when my 6-month cleaning appt was cancelled by the office "due to staffing" and a new appt time was not available until a YEAR had passed since my last cleaning. I called several times to see if there were any cancellations & never could reach a human, nor were any of my voicemails ever returned. Fast forward to finally arriving for the appt (which was also rescheduled a few times, for the same day but the staff couldn't seem to get the time figured out)....and while it took awhile in the waiting room to finally be called back for my cleaning, everything went well until I checked out. My time with the hygienist was just like any other appt I've experienced here, she was friendly & seemed to do a thorough job in cleaning/polishing (though the X-Rays took forever due to 'computer issues')...but when I checked out I was shocked to hear I owed $234 for a 'co-pay'. As I probed further about what this exorbitant fee was for, I was told it was for a "special deep cleaning procedure" the hygienist had to do on my teeth. I tried to assert that this cleaning was not 'special' in any way...the entire appt was just like any other 6-month checkup & cleaning...except this time I'm expected to pay well over $200 for it? I was never told there was a "special procedure" being done, or that it would require a significant out of pocket cost! The dentist also mentioned nothing of this and truthfully did not make me feel like a valued patient whatsoever - just told me I needed more work done, which will cost me another arm & a leg. The clerk at checkout said she would 'address' the communication issue with the hygienist as she should have "informed me before doing the work' but her demeanor was very curt & she was beyond flippant with my concerns & the shocking situation I was in - basically leaving me no choice but to accept it & pay the fee. I left feeling very devalued by this dentist practice that I have been loyal to since I was a teenager. I waited a full year for this appt as I wanted to remain that way - but ultimately I am going to look elsewhere for a place where I am not treated like a dollar sign. Just terribly disappointing, and given all of the other reviews I'm seeing, it definitely seems like management has changed & this place is no longer a viable option for good dental care. read more

Would not recommend this office for any kind of dental work. My wife and I had appointments for exams. I had to wait almost 45 minutes before I was taken back to the exam room. My appointment was a problem because there hints of lack of training and qualifications among the assistants. My wife who is handicapped and needs assistance, was never seen because the staff because the staff expressed concern about transferring her to the chair even though I explained that this was a routine maneuver and I assisted her all the time. We then had to make another appointment due to time constraints. We arrived on time and waited almost an hour only to be told that the Dr did not wish to see unless additional person came to help her, I understand that this a new Dr who is replacing Dr McKone who is retiring. For those of you who believe the new dentist that Dr. McKone made all these errors....do not believe it!!! I went to Dr. McKone for over 20 years and the man was caring, compassionate and did great work. The last time I was there, I had to see the new dentist. All of a sudden I needed thousands of dollars of work, including the deep cleaning where they scrape under your gums. I went to a periodontist ( the best in Peoria) and that was not needed!!! I sought out another dentist and have found a wonderful dentist who runs his own practice and is NOT a corporation. I did not need half of what Marcin Dental said I needed. They are literally stealing from their patients doing work that is not necessary. Billing is a nightmare! If I paid everything before I left the office how on earth could I owe money? Yet, they would send a bill every time and claimed you owed money. I KNOW I overpaid these people. They are crooks and should be closed down. None of these problems existed before. Dr McKone ran an honest efficient practice. If you truly want a good honest Dentist I highly recommend you go to Dr Moon in Washinton, IL. Get away from Marcin as fast as you can run!!! I had been transferred to Marcin as my previous dentist had retired. I went in with okay expectations and initially had no ill thought other than it didn't feel like a local family practice like my old dentist made it feel. I have never had a cavity nor any major dental work other than a crown from a chipped front tooth, and trusted the dentist that I did have one on my last visit. I was reassured that even though I had no sensitivity or pain that it was there and I needed a filling. I was very concerned about the price I would pay as it is time for me to get a new crown and they are pricey. I paid up front for the filling and was told what I was going to have to pay for my crown replacement as well. Fast forward a month later and I get a bill for another $100 because my insurance deductible had not been met. I get that I have a deductible and what not, HOWEVER I don't appreciate being reassured that I was going to owe x for this filling and then get a bill a month later for even more. I called the office and spoke with billing who advised that this isn't their problem and that I should have known my dental benefits. When mentioning that on multiple occasions I advised that I had never had any real dental work done, I was basically told there was nothing they could do but that they'd make sure to tell the dentist. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement and I will not be returning, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. read more

After a horrific experience at another dental office, I was hesitant to try somewhere else. I would highly recommend this office. My cleaning only took 15 minutes, and they didn't scrape my gums at all. They were very gentle. read more
