The food is excellent however the service is atrocious. We order delivery and have not had an issue until 2-9. Called in order and delivery was 30 minutes late and when the driver arrived he stated that they wrote the credit card number down incorrectly and asked that I call. I called while driver was standing in my home and gave the number which they had mixed up 2 numbers. The driver left only to return 5 min later stating I had not called. Showed him the calls on my phone and he called from his phone. I was on hold from the drivers phone for 12 min and grabbed my personal cell and called them again. They proceeded to take the card again and I was on hold 15 min while the ( very nice ) driver was standing in my home. I was finally told they had to put in new credit card paper. When I complained about the issues there were no apologies only attitude. Please note food is always excellent and the driver was very kind and polite and apologetic. read more

The fact that anyone could be satisfied with this place is mind-blowing. We arrived and were stared at by multiple employees as we waited in front of the sign asking patrons to wait to be seated. None of the employees paid any attention to us. After 5 minutes of awkward standing we literally had to walk right up to the cash register and loiter in order to be seated. This followed by waiting 10 minutes to get menus, then two waiters both fighting to take our order, receiving no straws napkins or silverware, and being served someone else's food order. All of this awful service, unclean and unprofessional environment and I optimistically thought the food would have to be amazing, because how else could they still be in business? I was VERY WRONG!!! This was very very sub par Italian food. I tried to order a Chicken Parmesan and was warned by the waiter it doesn't come breaded..... OK never had grilled chicken parm, so I passed and got eggplant parm instead. This did no good. It was soggy over cooked and not very good tasting :( All the food seems like its precooked and just reheated in their pizza oven with a lot of poor quality cheese on top. Their bruschetta was equally bad. It was slices of low quality bread with low quality cheese, with a small bowl of the bruschetta tomato mixture on the side. I can and frequently do make a far better bruschetta at home. Nothing at all about this place was even passable as a "restaurant" I would not eat here again even if I was paid to!!!!! read more

Great mozzarella sticks, but I didn't like the chicken parmesan. The chicken was not breaded. It was the precooked and presliced chicken strips. All of the food that we ordered was very good . I have been looking for a long time to find some good dessert pizza and this place definitely passed the test! Marchello's is an old-school midwestern Italian restaurant, specializing mostly in pasta dishes with rich sauces. There are sandwiches and pizza too, but so far I haven't tried them. Don't expect anything fancy to look at, but don't let the atmosphere fool you. The food here is outstanding! The specials in particular are way more sophisticated than you'd expect from the location and decor. Tried this for the first time tonight and it will be our last. We went in on a Monday night, with only 3 other tables there and I noticed the place was very dirty. Looks like they only vacuum once a month and I bet they've never had the carpets cleaned since they opened. The booths were very best up, it felt like springs were coming up your rear end. We sat down and it took about 10 minutes for anyone to come to our table, which was amazing because there was double the amount of staff as customers. She didn't take our drink order, just asked if we were ready to order. I got the Fett Alfredo, my husband, the Romano pasta dish. I also added the salad bar. The salad bar was a joke, I'm pretty sure pizza huts salad bar is better than theirs was. It was very dirty and out of almost everything. When I asked our server for more ranch and lettuce, everything was filled straight out of a bag/premade. Food was quick and very hot, but that was about the only good parts of our meal. Not very much flavor, it wasn't terrible, but wasn't good either. Save your money. Fazolis is better than this place. read more

When you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere because you just drove across the Flint Hills for a training or some business related purpose and have no interest or time to explore Wichita, this is the place to call to have delicious Italian food delivered right to your hotel room. The delivery order minimum is reasonable and they always (for me anyway) arrive earlier than expected even on a Friday night with hot food (or cold if you are after the tiramisu). My only issue is that the food is delivered in foil containers which (for obvious reasons) I can't reheat in my hotel room microwave. I always order the meatballs and delight calzone. read more

Hmmmm, where do I start? Let's see, I've HEARD nothing but GREAT things about this place, however I've EXPERIENCED nothing but HORRIBLE things about this place. We walk in and see a sign that says "please be seated", so we pick a spot and seat ourselves. The waitress that is at the next table gives us that "oh, God why did you sit in my section" look, she then proceeds to walk 10 feet away from us, but still well in ear shot and eyesight, and argue with the other waitstaff about how it is not HER turn to take my table, this argument goes on for about five minutes and we finally get a different, but just as off put waiter. If you have to argue over who's turn it is to take a table, maybe you should seat us yourselves. We already have a bad taste in our mouths so we are hoping the food will change that. We order a sampler platter on which it is PAINFULLY obvious that everything came straight out of a bag in the freezer, mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers that were soggy, and half breaded chicken wings. At this point we're thrilled. To make things better, I hear friendly chatter going on at the other tables between the waitstaff and the patrons, common things like "so how was your meal?, would you guys like any dessert?, is there anything else I can get for you?, how's about some more soda?". It made me feel special that we we're treated like second class citizens while everyone else was treated fairly. I work in the hospitality industry, I have for years, and the first rule is to make everyone feel like family, treat everyone the same, no matter what. It's called being professional, I don't know why this staff seemed to lack that skill. Our entree's come and my wife's is a non-edible version of eggplant parmesan with breading that is WAY too thick and a terrible marinara sauce with huge chunks of tomatoes in it. I had something called "Romano" which is a pasta dish, it was tolerable at best. We actually decided to bring the eggplant parm home to our dog, and that's not a pun, that's exactly what we did. It was less than what I would expect from a restaurant in a strip mall, which it is, and that says a lot. If this is the "best of Italy" as it claims, I feel sorry for the Italians. I could literally get better Italian food from the Cici's Pizza that was next door. Our waiter re-filled our drinks, when he returned we said "thank you" to which we got no response at all. As he saw that we were sitting for a while, he offered us some... no not dessert.... some take home boxes, which we accepted and were then told that out ticket would be at the counter. The staff, ALL of the staff, just hung around, behind the serving line, in the restaurant, outside, it was very un-professional, and disorganized. If the owner is "nearly always there" as another reviewer stated, he must not care much about the patrons, because his staff was a sloppy mess, in attitude and appearance. I'm not a complaining person, I can usually excuse almost anything, definitely coming from the same work background, where I know you have bad days, but every aspect of this was off. I usually tip in the 20-25% range, this time was a merciful 8%. This was by far THE WORST experience that I've ever had at a restaurant. And needless to say, I would not recommend this place to anyone. MAJOR LET DOWN! read more

While the food was fairly good when we finally received it, the service was so bad I will never go back. We waited 35 minutes for our appetizers, which I had to point out to the waiter, were sitting on the "order up" table under a heat lamp. Then we waited nearly another 10 minutes for our salads and by the time our entrees arrived, it was close to an hour from the time we were seated at our table. The kitchen and wait staff seemed way more interested in filling call in orders than taking care of the people dining in. Nearly every person on the waitstaff ended up in the kitchen helping, who I assume was the owner, prepare and package carry out orders. I saw several people looking around, obviously irritated, wondering where their orders were. The food is quite expensive as well and with such poor service, definitely not worth it. Had a rough experience today. Ordered a small Caesar salad and two calzone's and drinks. The salad was a disappointment, smaller than a dinner salad with stale croutons for 4 bucks...okay, can deal with that. However, the calzone's were horrible, tasted like those hot pocket things you microwave. Ate less than half, waitress came by to tell us our check was up at the register, never looked at our plates and never asked if everything was alright. As we paid I told the waitress, who was also the cashier, that as a past waitress, I would recommend that when she see's customers leaving almost full plates she might want to ask if there was anything wrong. She just looked at me and said it happens all the time so she doesn't ask. Nice. She halfheartedly asked what was wrong and offered to "go find" the manager. Yeah, no thanks, don't stress yourself. You get what you paid. You won't have any meal it taste different than marinera or cream sauce with a ton of mozarella cheese. Even if you order the pesto sauce you will have this "creamy pesto" which is more cream sauce with a ton of mozarella cheese.
