The Saint Sauveur location is a star child of this facelift. You're entering a 64,600 sq. ft. showpiece that is bright, well lit and spacious. Upon entering you'll first notice a massive patisserie counter with cupcakes, macarons and other gourmandises. Fresh produce will be a few steps behind. The new concept has a selection of "boutiques" along the perimeter, like a deli counter, charcuterie, oyster/shrimp bar and cheese counter with the prettiest 2 feet tall glass fridge containing an impressive array of local and imported cheeses. There is also a Joe Fresh collection of apparel for adults and children. The Loblaws/Provigo brand excels in going above and beyond to turn grocery shopping into an experience. The food is premium and gourmet, sampling stations are delish. Everything was taken into consideration, there's nothing boring or traditional about this store, even the floor is a popping orange. To make your shopping trip more enjoyable, the couple times I went over the holidays, they had a live jazz band playing! If you were dragged along and didn't feel like shopping, take a seat at the cantine and make use of their free wifi! Yes the prices are higher than what you would find at other grocery chains, this location caters to tourists and skiers - however if you're purchasing specialty goods, it is worth it, you'll find things that are uncommon elsewhere.

Rotten fruit and veg, rotten meat, (watch out), don't get anything smothered in a sauce because it is BAD MEAT, that they try to sell off with a sauce so you cannot smell it. I've complained about him multiple times, he is...like a combo of a complete idiot, and the most unpleasant person, with a sour look on his face...clearly the guy has DEEP psychological problems. The manager, Sebastien, agrees with me in my assessment, has told me he repeatedly gets complaints about this poor employee, and because of a BS union, cannot fire the guy. The other various employees are either thieves, tired, or so young, they've no clue as to what they are doing. Really grim, there is not one smiling face in the entire joint, all the employees have a look of misery/torment on their grimacing faces. It is just a repository of everything bad. Each time I go there, I've regretted it. The owner ~ and his bitchy wife are totally out-to-lunch, play dumb, and are clearly clueless. The choice and selection is minimal, and as mentioned their fresh food is not fresh, even the bakery stuff are items they bulk-buy, then freeze, then defrost and try to pass off as fresh. Nothing is fresh, nothing is good. I totally recommend taking the extra 1/2 hour drive, and shopping elsewhere. Even their boxed items, such as crackers are WAY over-priced compared to the ease of using a place like Amazon for packaged/canned goods. This place is a complete and total FAILURE. Honestly, there's a lot to be said for straight aisles that run from front to back. They should hand out maps at the front of the store to help you navigate the sections that had the misfortune of being positioned within the labyrinth. Food: Despite my annoyance with the layout, they do have a very large selection of produce, dairy, baked goods etc. I don't think you can walk in here and not find what you're looking for. It definitely gives Metro a run for its money. Price: Personally, I find that IGA is up there in terms of cost, but, I have also noticed that the prices are higher up north vs. in town. If you can do your shopping at home before coming up north, that's probably your best bet.
