This location in Ste Agathe is cute and packed with goodness. The parking here is not ideal, it's mostly across the street with a very small zone for cars to swing in and pick up their groceries when they leave. During covid times they've encouraged folks to call ahead with their orders, they aren't touching cards or reusable bags, limiting their hours and the number of people in stores and providing washing stations and sterilizing cash and counters. She didn't mind at all chatting about ocean safe, and sustainable and low mercury options, she was patient and interested and knowledgeable and then had some tasty cooking ideas for the local lake trout we ended up with. In fact everyone we've interacted with here has been great, fluidly bilingual and happy helpful. There are cheaper options if you're doing an econo shop but this IGA is truly great for what it is.

And trying to converse in French even though I'm not good is appreciated. Ambiance is good, but there are communal tables, which I'm not a fan of. Not a big deal at all though, especially considering how consistently excellent the food is. The baked goods are all fantastic, too. Great breads, and sweets. Great small family own side of the road farmers market…read more Unfortunately for now, the availability of fresh produces is narrow. It is, after all, June in Quebec. The season will only begin at the end of June and peak in July trough September. I give a good review, even if the stock is lacking for now because, this is the place I go years after years to buy my fresh corn. I usually buy one or two full bag to cook it and freeze it to consume throughout the year. To me, a side of those golden nuggets in the darkest coldest night of winter is a promise that summer still exists and will return. Like this little place on the side of the highway. When they open. Summer is coming.
