The Saint Sauveur location is a star child of this facelift. You're entering a 64,600 sq. ft. showpiece that is bright, well lit and spacious. Upon entering you'll first notice a massive patisserie counter with cupcakes, macarons and other gourmandises. Fresh produce will be a few steps behind. The new concept has a selection of "boutiques" along the perimeter, like a deli counter, charcuterie, oyster/shrimp bar and cheese counter with the prettiest 2 feet tall glass fridge containing an impressive array of local and imported cheeses. There is also a Joe Fresh collection of apparel for adults and children. The Loblaws/Provigo brand excels in going above and beyond to turn grocery shopping into an experience. The food is premium and gourmet, sampling stations are delish. Everything was taken into consideration, there's nothing boring or traditional about this store, even the floor is a popping orange. To make your shopping trip more enjoyable, the couple times I went over the holidays, they had a live jazz band playing! If you were dragged along and didn't feel like shopping, take a seat at the cantine and make use of their free wifi! Yes the prices are higher than what you would find at other grocery chains, this location caters to tourists and skiers - however if you're purchasing specialty goods, it is worth it, you'll find things that are uncommon elsewhere.

This location in Ste Agathe is cute and packed with goodness. The parking here is not ideal, it's mostly across the street with a very small zone for cars to swing in and pick up their groceries when they leave. During covid times they've encouraged folks to call ahead with their orders, they aren't touching cards or reusable bags, limiting their hours and the number of people in stores and providing washing stations and sterilizing cash and counters. She didn't mind at all chatting about ocean safe, and sustainable and low mercury options, she was patient and interested and knowledgeable and then had some tasty cooking ideas for the local lake trout we ended up with. In fact everyone we've interacted with here has been great, fluidly bilingual and happy helpful. There are cheaper options if you're doing an econo shop but this IGA is truly great for what it is.

I did want to update to add that they have an amazing big smoker that sits in the parking lot smelling crazy delicious. There is a small area in the butcher section of house smoked goods - we tried the trout last week and it was just so flavourful. We chatted with the gent in charge of the smoker and he said if you call a couple days in advance you can get a whole fish smoked for you, or a cut of local meat. Later that day we were at a tiny community festival in the park, and a few people from the Marché were there giving out free bites of waffles, and they recognized us right away from earlier in the day and said hi and made sure we'd remember their names for next time. Whenever I go in there they try to open my shopping bags at the cash. Without my consent. They claim its to put my groceries n the bags. I told them many f me Id do it myself yet they keep going for my bags everytime. It must be done deliberately to start a fight and harass me. They have bad people working there. I recently was going to buy a Kleenex and the amount would not show up on their checkout. Odd! So a clerk went to check the price and after a long wait she came back and said it's $3.99. I thought it was $1.99. So I went to ask the manager who invited me to go check the price with her. When the clerk saw me going over to the manager she ran ahead of me to block me and get there first. So something's going on there. I reported them to the manager and it was another brand of Kleenex at $1.99. The manager put the purchase through as I decided to buy it. But all that cheap to purchase a box of kleenex.
