This chain grocery store has everything you need, including prepared foods for takeout…read more Today we stopped in to take advantage of their freshly made rotisserie chicken and french fries (they have three different varieties). Yummy!! The lovely lady (I should have gotten her name) who served us made sure we had the freshest chicken and even made fresh french fries since the ones in the warmer had been there awhile. Across from the prepared foods was the Japanese section where you could find all kinds of sushi, poke bowls, sesame oil, pickled ginger, wasabi, and noodles. Next to that are fresh bunches of brilliantly coloured flowers. A little overpriced, considering they're locally grown. This store is always clean and inviting and the staff is helpful (and bilingual). Fruit and vegetables are fresh. Since I'm from Hawaii the price of produce isn't that much different, but if you take into consideration the $$ conversion, it's still cheaper in Canada

If you've ever wondered what shopping in a dystopian future might feel like, look no further than…read morethis IGA. With prices that make you question if you've accidentally wandered into a high-end boutique, you'll be paying caviar prices for canned beans--and that's if they're even on the shelves. Speaking of shelves, good luck finding what's on sale! They must be hiding the sale items in some secret underground bunker because the shelves are empty of sale items. When you do stumble upon something that should be stocked, don't get your hopes up--it's probably just an illusion created by the dim lighting and your wishful thinking. And let's talk about the hours. Closing early seems to be their specialty. Need to grab something after 7 PM? Forget it! The store's motto must be, "Why stay open when we can just... not?" Maybe they're trying to give us more time to contemplate our life choices, like why we even tried shopping here in the first place. Now, brace yourself for the parking lot, which is more of an obstacle course than a place to park your car. The potholes are so deep you could lose a small child in one. Navigating a cart through that minefield? Only the bravest or most foolhardy dare attempt it. Don't be surprised if you feel like you're in an episode of *Survivor* just trying to get your groceries to your car. In summary, if you're looking for an adventure, a workout, and a way to make your wallet cry, this is the place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and steer clear--literally, because those potholes are no joke!

This is not the best Hannaford Supermarket in the chain. It's large, but a little bit old and worn…read moreand could use some modernization like the Hannaford market in St. Albans. Produce quality is only fair and not presented very well. For instance, other Hannaford markets will display shiny, fresh apples but this store has dull, waxy looking apples that aren't particularly fresh - unappetizing for sure! About half the time when we buy a bag of potatoes we found that they go soft and begin to sprout in a week. Other fruit don't seem particularly fresh and frequently are right on the edge of softness. On the whole, vegetables are okay. The deli department is small and has a dozen or more different items of cold prepared food; the only hot food available usually is chicken and some sides. It does have a good selection of cold cuts and cheeses. They only have packaged sandwiches available but they are mostly nondescript subs or hoagies with meager filling on tasteless plain bread and dry with NO mayo or mustard. Ugh. Frequently they have packaged salads which are fairly decent. The bakery department is okay. They have a small selection of cakes and some fairly exotic desserts like Bavarian chocolate cake or cheesecakes in single or double servings. Meat department is okay - but the packaged chicken is not fresh and was frozen and then thawed in the cooler. The fish department did have problems at one time (the fish on display was far from fresh and we usually just asked for the fully frozen fish just to be safe) but it's been lately renovated and looks good - but we haven't bought anything there yet. The dairy department can be iffy - we found that we MUST check the expiration dates on items here. Several times we've bought a dairy product and found that it had expired a few days beforehand. For some reason they're not meticulous in checking product dates. Nice selection of frozen foods, but not much more than the basic stuff you'll find in any small supermarket - even though this is a large supermarket. A number of times we've found them to be completely out of something simple like frozen one-pound bags of corn or peas. This is a sin for a supermarket this size. Canned and packaged foods make up the bulk of the store and they have a good and varied selection. Sometimes we did notice that certain food items we always buy (like spaghetti rigati) suddenly are no longer available. This has happened with a number of items - at first we thought it was just us with this peculiar problem but then we talked to a shopper in the store who said the same thing. She was looking for a certain item and jokingly said, "It must have been so popular that they decided to pull it from the shelves." Apparently the Hannaford upper management will pull an item from ALL stores even though it sells well in a few stores. The people who work here are friendly, very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. They are the only real supermarket in a 30-mile radius, so I guess since they're the only game in town they don't have to pay attention to the details. They could REALLY use a little competition!

Fresh produce looked good, bathrooms were clean. We were happy you can buy wine in the grocery store in Vermont. Lots of good local beers at decent prices.
