Seems strange to do a review on airport food, but from folks who fly a lot...this spot deserves mentioning! Relatively speaking of course, the prices were in line but so many great offerings for salad, hot entrees, desserts, and really tasty coffees. I strolled through a few times trying to decide but knowing I'd be overindulging once we got to our destination I opted for tuna on salad...ok, and a banana tart for good measure!

Great selection of freshly made food, from sandwiches to pizza and even Swiss specialties like Rösti. Fantastic salad bar and juice drinks. Friendly and helpful staff.

Pricey, but food is really good for an airport. Everything is fresh/ well cooked, quick service at the cashiers. Interior reminds me of a local market/cafeteria at a grocery store.

    Egg sandwich and coke.

Provender: you'll find a buffet of mediocre airport food, but hey . . . it's reasonably priced and there's a decent amount of seating. Prices: an egg sandwich and a coke will run you about $15 USD (as of Nov. 2018). The sandwich was around $10, and $5 for the coke. Parking: N/A People: this is a good spot for families since there are booths for the troop to sit in. Plus the menu is varied. Perks: it's in between Terminal B and the Duty Free shop.

I'm American, so I automatically think that the prices were outrageous. But besides that, the food that my wife and I got was actually pretty fresh and delicious.

Lots of stuff available for dining in or takeaway

I came to Marché to grab some lunch before my flight out to Chicago. First, I took a quick look around the premises and saw a bunch of food options for eat-in: fresh juices, soups, salad bar, sandwiches, noodle soup cooked to order, cakes, coffees, and a variety of hot cooked foods. I settled on the grab-and-go stuff at the front of the restaurant, because I figured I didn't have enough time to sit down at eat. They had a pretty nice selection to choose from, and this is what I ended up with: - Turkey and watermelon salad: CHF 8.95 - Little Mövenpick ice cream: CHF 4.25 - 2.5 dl mixed berry fruit smoothie: CHF 6.95 - 5 dl bottle of mineral water: CHF 5.00 The total came out to CHF 25.15, which was kind of pricey if you consider what I got, but I justified it by saying that it was comparable to a standard meal in Zürich. Normally, I probably wouldn't splurge on a meal like this, but I did it to use up some funds on my Reka Card. The food was fresh and tasty, and hopefully somewhat healthy, too!

Service: The service was quick, but a bit confusing since it works sorta like a buffet, but not really and the whole ship is broken into sections. Ambiance: It was a really nice location despite being in an airport. Smelled like fresh food and had some plants here and there: Food: The food was good, but nothing amazing. For being in an airport it wasn't bad at all. Price: The price was a bit high given that Swiss Francs are worth more that US dollars, and it had airport prices. But after a long flight, the food was definitely needed.

    Gruyere cheese salami

I couldn't help but to buy gruyere and salami for breakfast. So, I did. The cheese had a nuttiness to it that I like. It was sturdy cheese with the scent of nuts and gentle; and a great bite to it (not too hard or too soft). This cheese put a smile on my face. The salami was okay.

Rösti, Bratwurst mit Senf, and Apfelschorle. Breakfast of champions!

Good food but the line is right in the middle of a walkway and makes it hard to move.

Imagine telling someone in the 1800s, one day people will voluntarily eat tofu and then proving them wrong for over a century. The buffet system is dangerous because you pile it high, weigh it, and dig in. Honestly a fantastic concept. Great location near the train station too, which is helpful because you may need immediate transportation after accidentally eating your body weight in all the options.

Checked back home already in case this happens and looked for an interesting Lounge. The Aspire Lounge looked the most interesting to us. So we headed there and paid the fee (we flew Economy). 48CHF per person was a fair deal. The Lounge has a nice size, not too big, not too small. And has a deck outside with great views over the airport and the airstrip. You can see some from inside as well. Staff was very friendly to us and entering the Lounge was a quick affair. Be aware that it depends how full and busy it is. You might be sent away as a walk-in in case the place is full. Which is understandable. There is a good number of magazins and newspapers, TV and free WiFi. But of course most come for the unlimited food and drinks. There were hot and cold dishes. Cheese and meat. Pasta and more. Some cakes and sweets. Snacks. Also different kind of bread, croissants. There was some liquor. White and Red Wine. Also good Prosecco. Beer, soda and water of course. Yes, we were in some Lounges with a bigger selection. But we just came to enjoy a bit of food and drink, to rest and relax a bit. And for that it was a fair deal offered here. We had a good time. And surely we'll be back again.

Not sure if it's just me but first time that no meat i.e. bacon or sausage for breakfast in any lounge that we've visited. We were expecting more since we're in Zurich. Where do you go? VAPIANO of course! This is actually a chain restaurant directly from Italy and in Italian, Va Piano means 'go slowly'. So I'm guessing they are poking a bit of fun at 'fast food'. But this is a sort of fast food restaurant - but where everything is made fresh, to order, right in front of you. So a bit of dinner theatre thrown in for free! Even though the menu is the holy Italian trinity - Pizza, Pasta, Salads; that's where 'normality' ends. I knew this was something unique as soon as we entered. We were stopped at the door and each person was handed what looks like a credit card. We found a table (these are big, banquet style and you may end up sharing with others), grabbed a menu and planned our attack. This is self serve - once you decide what you want - you take your credit card to one of the food stations - Pizza, pasta or Salad. The menu was only a guide - we were able to customize everything based on the fresh ingredients available. I was happy with the Capricciosa Pizza as is (my favourite toppings of black olives, artichokes, mushrooms and prosciutto) but my Aunt wanted a light, sauce free pasta. The pasta is fresh - not dried. And there is a glass wall in front of the pasta extruder - great fun for the kiddies to watch the pasta being made. In addition to picking your sauce and toppings - you also have at least a dozen pasta shapes to choose from as well. She choose tagliatelle with aglio and olio with some sautéed shrimp and spring onions. She loved being able to watch everything being made in the wok and loved that she was asked how much oil, how much garlic...... She did think the portion was too large for her to finish but it was so good, she cleaned her plate! (darn no leftovers for us!!!). While I was waiting for my pizza (pizzas take a bit longer so you get a buzzer) I headed over to the salad station for a rocket and parmaggiano salad to share with the group. The food stations meant everyone in our group could have something different, using their own card. Drinks are available at each station or at a central bar (which also houses the desserts). Throughout the meal you can get more food and drink - just hand over your card. When you leave, each person must turn in a card. It is possible to just use one card during the meal and pay as a whole - and then the other cards will show a 'zero' when you come to pay. Or, use individual cards - which can be totalled into one bill - or if you are with a group of friends - it makes paying for yourself so much easier! This isn't 'fine' dining but it is fresh, fun, easy and tasty.
