I have been trading and buying silver and gold for the past 20 years. There are three or four other alternatives here in Coachella Valley and I have tried them all. When I found Marc One Numismatics, I was both happy and pissed off. I was pissed off because I had been getting ripped off from the other jewelry and coin dealers. Not by just a few dollars we're talking big percentages. I was happy because I finally found a fair and honest coin dealer. When others have a spread of $10-$15 between buying and selling. Marc One is usually a 4 to 5 dollar spread between buying and selling even at $70 an ounce. I use Marc One like a bank right now. If I need a little cash I take a few coins in for cash, when I have extra money, I buy a few ounces. I don't even look at the other sites anymore because they are a rip off. Be careful if you sell gold here. I brought in a gold coin with a bezel, and we were unsure if the bezel was gold. The employee did an acid test, and based on what I observed, the first test seemed to show that it was gold. Then a different acid was used, and I was told it was not gold. I left feeling very uncomfortable with the process and would recommend getting a second opinion before selling anything valuable here. read more

Poorest excuse of a coin shop I have ever been in. Was there in the middle of the day on a Saturday. No inventory to look at. Wasn't that busy either. Owner said he didn't have time to put anything out! Finally found two silver coins to purchase. First salesman couldn't add two, two digit numbers in his head. Slid him a calculator that was on the counter. The kid pulls out his phone because he didn't know how to use the calculator! Finally came up with a number. Gave him a hundred dollar bill. Couldn't make change. The owner comes over seeing my frustration even though he was helping other customers and puts the sale down on paper. Now the price is 10% higher! Got my money back and ran. Maybe a good place to sell coins or get appraisals but hard to buy at. I've been in stores that were a total mess but they had inventory. My advice steer clear of here. I did go to another coin shop and spent four times what I would have spent here just because they had something to look at. If I wanted to buy on the internet I would have never gotten into my truck! Marc this is a message to you personally, anyone who bring coins to you, be serious aware, this man knows his coins and he's an expert for decades, and rates coins brought to him, so low to anyone, because I/we trusted him to be fair, Marc conned me, and I trusted his experience giving me a fair coin value, you Marc rated my pure rare 1908 coin pure dollar gold necklace at grade 60, he gave me $3,300 est and it was worth twice of that, it should of been graded at 68+ I was told that by another expert in coins, he also took my rare 130 silver dimes from 1942-1964 and paid me nothing but a few dollars $2.21? est. per coin for them, he took my Eisenhower Dollars and paid me coin value, he took my Kennedy head 1/2-dollar coins and paid me coin value, for my rare Sacagawea coins and he paid me coin value, and he took my 100+ European coins from 8 countries before the European Euro,so much and he said they had no value and gave me nothing. Telling me they were worth nothing. Anyone do not go to this man's store, his store inside is a dump inside, and he put me under such stress during our exchange because he had no help that day and hurried me up because he had several people waiting to see him! And he had the exchange so others could hear the deal vs in San Diego they do their business in Private rooms!! Do not deal with this man, he's in the coin books as an expert which doesn't mean he pays out at a fair value! Be aware, find someone else to deal with. I always take a few coins with me when I travel as an excuse to visit coin dealers around the country. I handed three coins to Marc and he offered me more than any other dealer has offered on all three. I sold two for cash and decided in the end I was not ready to part with my higher grade 09-S VDB even though he made a fair offer. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and honest. I am so glad my boyfriend noticed Marc Crane's family-owned coin shop on Hwy 111 on our way home one day. My dad recently passed on a ton of silver and international coins he had collected over the years but was looking to offload now that he is newly retired. We walked in randomly and introduced ourselves, and Marc and his staff members were very helpful and welcoming. Fast forward a few days later, I made an appointment to come in and get quoted for every item I was trying to sell.
