I usually come here all the time, they have amazing ice cream with unlimited toppings and I love it. Tonight was not the same and most likely, I will not be coming back. Stood there for about 5 minutes no one else in line. While an employee behind me was sweeping, an employee behind the counter to my right was putting napkins in a napkin holder. A minute or 2 who cares, a few minutes noticing why isnt anyone helping me. After 5 minutes I start to get irritated. Finally a guy from the back comes to help, me, he was rude, short and I asked for a regular scoop and he didnt even top it to the rim, which I paid 6 dollars for. Yes please! This ice cream is hands down the best flavor in Mobile - in my humble opinion! I always get the same thing - Sweet Cream with Heath bar and almonds mixed in. It's divine! Maybe I will venture out one day and try something new like Bubblegum or Chocolate. Their waffle cones are hand made and their cookies are also superb! The servers work really hard to get your order done quickly. When they are very busy the servers keep their good attitudes. If you want to top YOUR server, you have to put it in their hand. If you put the tip in the jar it'll is split with all employees regardless of wether or not they worked that evening. Ice Cream!!!!!! Took my sister and the Nephews to get some Ice cream tonight. This is a great little place to go. Not a ton of different flavors but enough to keep them happy. The staff was pretty attentive and seemed to be pretty focused on pumping out the orders. Our wait time was very quick. They had about 5-6 people behind the counter serving it up, however, no one ever thought at some point to wipe off tables. So we asked for a tag and did it ourselves. Having been gluten free for 2 years now my husband asked if a specific ice cream was gluten free. The guy had no idea what gluten was. Then another spoke up and said "yeah I'm sure all of our ice cream has gluten in it". Atleast educate your employees on basic food allergies. I've been to so many restaurants here in Mobile and different states and never been so shocked at someone being absolutely clueless. Once leaving and looking at the online nutrition/allergy info there are several that do not contain gluten. Won't be back though bc who knows they may decide to dip cones straight in the ice cream being so clueless. read more

Employees don't greet you, and when they walk up it's a rude "what do you need". This was my first and last visit. They were out of a lot of things and the portions for the prices absolutely suck. The shakes at steak and shake are cheaper and have more care but in them. Everything was thrown together, and ugly. Very disappointing. read more

So. My fiancé, his niece and I visited marble slab today. The girl assisting us was extremely rude and carrying on conversations with all of her coworkers as we asked questions, and then put double toppings (which some people would love, honestly, BUT they overpowered the ice cream.) I then had a $5 off birthday coupon which the girl blatantly told my fiancé they couldn't use. (Okay.) We had asked the girl making the ice cream if we could get a cone on the side and she looked at us like we were crazy. So flash forward to us sitting down. There were so many chocolate sprinkles that it turned our praline ice cream nearly black. My fiancé goes up there and asks if we could switch it out for regular plain praline ice cream, because the toppings were overwhelming. The girl (topping queen) stares at him like he's crazy and then goes and gets a manager (I'd assume she was a manager, they didn't look like they were over 15). He explains everything again, and now SHE stares at him like he's crazy. She says we can't get any for free. He said he was just wanting to exchange them because it was too many toppings. She continues to stare at him. He says "okay, I understand you can't give out free food, I'll just contact the online services." She then starts yelling to the other girls "I don't know what the issue is I don't know what the problem is." All of the customers have turned around to look at us and stared. Holy guacamole, not much of a fan of ice cream, however this was pretty good, got 3 different scoops in a waffle cone. About half way through the sugar had me rushhing big time. So be careful, next time one scoop will be plenty. read more

Went here about a week ago..This place has to be a joke, place does not show any pride what so ever, very rude employees. No greeting or anything when I walk in the door or out, when I wanted to sample ice cream, the girl with blonde hair huffed and puffed like she was miserable or something. Kind of felt bad for her and whoever has her as an employee next, waffle cones were stale and in a plastic bin. Another employee behind the counter on his phone.. not even in uniform, while I was being rung up the blonde girl was jiggling and putting the tip jar right in front of me, like they deserved it.. and for those interested their Mobile County Health Department score is an 81. Hiding behind the fridge and the corner of the wall where you can barely see it. Very disappointing experience. Will absolutely not be back! read more

The customer service is terrible, and I understand it's only ice cream, so I shouldn't expect much, but when going to any business, I expect a little bit more. I found the ordering and paying experience to be really confusing. I actually was left alone once I received my ice cream, and I literally think I could have just left without anyone noticing--very odd. The employees are all young, so they probably just need some more experience. Maybe work on improving management. I'm not keen on going back. If you want good ice cream go to Old Dutch, it's locally owned and sourced. read more

I just went to the Marble Slab on Schillingers (the ones that is about to merge with the new cookie shop) I walked in and got my usual order. I walked out and got in my car went up the street and started in on my ice cream and noticed a very long hair in it. I really wanted the ice cream so I almost thought if it would have been a shorter hair I would have just picked it out and finished it but it was very long and noticeable so I couldn't do it. I always go to this place and usually never have any problems but today I paid 4.60 to learn that I will never be going back there again. I may go to the one down Airport Blvd instead. Hey Marble Slab I didn't know Hair was a topping. Thanks but no thanks and I would have gone back for a refund but I was already so far away. Just thought I would let you all know. read more
